Like Ru says: “You betta watch!” As you can tell, it certainly seems like the show hasn’t lost any of the copious amounts of verve and panache it served up so heavily in the inaugural season earlier this year. (And, here’s a dream within a dream: You can still watch all the episodes from last season online.) In fact, based on the video, I might just love this coming season even more than the last–mostly because of that glorious pink hair that Ru is wearing when she tells her finalists to “Lip sync for your life!” But also because of one particular contestant we see in the above video. That’d be Mystique, the rather curvy and full-figured queen you amazingly saw do the splits. I can tell you already that I’m already gunning for that gurl. Lastly, I’m loving that it looks like Ru slaps someone! That’s right, queens, Ru don’t take no lip! But, the video isn’t the only scoop we’ve got on the new season—after the jump, we serve up some more details from Ru herself… First off, let’s talk guest judges: So far, three of the guest judges we know about are Kathy Griffin (see our First Look with her in this week’s issue of the magazine, which is on stands now), Cloris Leachman, and Debbie Reynolds. Hello, jackpot! “All of the judges,” says RuPaul, “have this sense of show business and this sense of who they are that allows them to really judge what drag is about because they clearly see themselves as drag queens, too.” As for the structure of Drag Race itself, it’ll largely remain the same—except for one slight change. “It will have a fresh look to it,” Ru reveals with a good-natured laugh. “There won’t be as much Vaseline on the lens!” Most of all, though, Ru assures that the contestants are more fired up than ever: “The biggest change in this season is the contestants are actually a bit more—how can I put this?—they’re more tenacious. In the first season, they were a bit more diplomatic because they knew they were representing drag for the first time in a decade. This time around, though, the kids have seen the first show, they know what the prize is, and they know what’s at stake, so they have taken the gloves off.” Well, thank goodness for that!

I’m hoping this music video will be fun … from the looks of this video, it appears it will be a fun, great video (and, to be honest, the song is growing on me every time I hear it). Despite what Sarah Palin may think, Levi Johnston insists he’s not an aspiring porn star. And that’s exactly why we’re not going to be seeing all of Mr. Johnston’s junk in Playgirl. In fact, Johnston tells me he never had plans to go full frontal because… “I’m 19,” he told me at last night’s GQ Men of the Year party at the Chateau Marmont. “I don’t want that image. I don’t want to get into porn. I don’t want to get into X-rated adult videos.” Johnston says he’s seen some of the shots Playgirl is planning on releasing. “They turned out well,” he said. “I’m happy with them.” What do his friends back in Alaska think of all this? “I’m sure my friends are going to check them out and give me crap about them, but whatever,” Johnston said with a shrug. “I’m having fun with all of it.”

What a tease … I guess we had to be kidding ourselves if we really thought he was going to show us the full monty. Tho, to be honest, I don’t know that many of us (me, included) would’ve been so willing to believe that he was truly gonna go balls out (as it were) if we hadn’t been misled to believe that he was really gonna show all. It looks like we’re not gonna see much more than what we’ve been seeing in these censored preview photos that have been airing on entertainment news shows all week long. To be honest, I don’t think these photos would be any sort of let down at all if they weren’t hyped up so much in the first place. But … it is what it is … we’re gonna get what we’re gonna get. I’m not sure if Tori plans to release traditional music videos or singles from this album so live performance videos like this might be all we can expect. The message posted with this Mad Hatter movie poster alludes to the fact that it will be the “last” promo photo shared on Facebook for a while. I suppose it makes sense that the folks promoting the show would put a halt on releasing goodies to fans so early before the film hits theaters. Of the three posters, I think I like this one the least … I don’t think they featured the Mad Hatter as expertly as they could’ve. That being said, we still have a lot of time to wait before the film opens in theaters next Spring … I’ll take any and everything they’ve got to give. I just hope they don’t make us wait too long before they release another fun goodie.

I find it very misleading for Playgirl to announce that Johnston will be “nude” and not mention that he will not be “full frontally” nude. It sounds like all we’re gonna get is a bunch of carefully posed photos that show bare ass, a hockey stick and not much more. To be fair, the photos can still be very hot as one needn’t show it all for a photo to be steamy (which is likely what this “wet armpit” preview photo wants us to believe) … it just seems incredibly lame for Levi Johnston to fall short of expectations, as it were, and wimp out on showing us everything he’s got to offer.

UPDATE: The Insider is airing a commercial that announces that they were on set for Levi’s Playgirl shoot and will preview some of the pics tonight — after the jump, check out a couple of screencaps from that commercial to get a peek at what’s in store …

Sex and the City 2 may not be scheduled to hit theaters until May 28, 2010 – but for fans clamoring for anything new and Sex-related, there’s good news ahead: Candace Bushnell is releasing the new book The Carrie Diaries, a teen prequel to her famous franchise. Set during Carrie Bradshaw’s high school years, the book details the budding fashionista’s early relationships and how she began her career as a writer. According to the publisher, The Carrie Diaries will also focus on Bradshaw’s first love, while the cover art specifically references an incident between the character and her mother. The Carrie Diaries will be published on April 27, 2010.

HMMM … it’s unclear if this book is aimed at adult fans of Sex and the City or new, young fans who are unfamiliar with the SaTC book and/or TV series. I hope the book is written in such a way that adult fans of the original can enjoy the story … and I can’t help but feel it’s weird to aim a book like this at kids. In any event, anything from Candace Bushnell is welcome to me and I am really looking forward to reading this book when it is released next year. I like how the cover has a Louis Vuitton/Stephen Sprouse feel to it … I wonder how LV feels about the homage? Are any of y’all lookin’ forward to the release of this book?
