A little while back we got to check out the cover art for Selena Gomez‘s new single Come And Get It, and now that the single’s here, that gorgeous red headdress makes a little more sense. As we all know, it’s a good time to be Selena. She’s got a sweet indie movie in theatres that’s doing pretty well, and the whole world was, apparently, waiting to hear this new single. The song premiered exclusively on Ryan Seacrest‘s website last night and ish got so cray the site totally crashed! Madness! Click inside to learn more and go HERE to listen to Come And Get It.
Plus Beyoncé & André 3000 Cover Amy Winehouse's 'Back To Black'
Apparently, the people responsible for this year’s The Great Gatsby want me, um, orgasming my way all the way to the movie theatre on May 10. I cannot deal with the tracklist for this movie’s soundtrack! It’s like when the Belly soundtrack dropped, and I was, like, 15 and somebody had finally figured out a way to get DMX and Sean Paul and D’Angelo and Jay-Z and Method Man and Mya all on one CD. Except now I’m grown, and I’m freaking the freak out because Jay-Z, André 3000, Beyoncé, Florence + The Machine, Gotye, Emeli Sandé, Lana Del Rey and hella other folks are on what may be the greatest soundtrack in the history of soundtracks (brought to us by the one and only Shawn Carter), lol! Agh! Oh, and Bey and 3-Stacks are covering Amy Winehouse‘s Back To Black. It’s not a big deal. Click inside to see the full tracklist and to watch a new trailer featuring all this insane new music!
A few weeks ago, Beyoncé came at us with a new song titled Bow Down and today … she hits us with a new bit of new music. Beyoncé releases today a 5-second clip of new music that has been hashtagged #BeyHereNow with the promise that the full song will be released tomorrow on 4.4.2013 at 9AM EDT. Click the embed above to heard this snippet of new music … and stay tuned, the full track should be released tomorrow morn.
UPDATE: Altho the clip above does seem to feature new music, it’s possible that the release tomorrow may have something to do with a new Pepsi campaign. It’s not totally clear what exactly will get released at 9AM tomorrow morning but I suspect, whatever it is, it will be music related in some way.
French Funk + Big Boi = Awesomeness
Good remixes make life happy y’all. I’ll admit I’m not on the Janelle Monáe train as hard as a lot of people, but I can’t deny that I dig her style. Tightrope was the lead single off her last album The ArchAndroid (Suites II and III), and the Bad Boy artist enlisted the help of Outkast‘s Big Boi for the single. Now Swedish producer Oliver Nelson has put some french funk on it, and I’m loving the remix. Click inside to take your first listen!
H-Town Stand Up!
Awwww shizz! I know a lot of y’all weren’t feelin’ Beyoncé‘s new jam when we heard a screwed & chopped snippet a few weeks ago, but for the three of us who liked it, today is a good day! People were wondering if Bey was gonna do something cray and get, like, every single Houston rapper to appear on this song… and yeah. She lit’rally got every single Houston rapper to appear (plus a few other guys from Texas) on this song! Scarface, y’all?! As in… Scarface?!?! OMG. Click inside for more. That is, if you like rap music you should click inside. Because, well, this is a rap song.
New Single Out Now, Album 'Braveheart' Out in June
So … have you heard that Ashanti is back on the music scene this week with the release of a new single titled Never Should Have with a new album titled Braveheart to follow in June? Yeah, no one is more surprised than I am. Apparently, news of new Ashanti music came out a few weeks ago but it wasn’t until her new single was released today that this fantastic news caught my eye (and ears). I’m quite certain many of y’all remember fondly that Ashanti was the ish back in the early 00′s … but she’s been out of sight and mind for many years now. Clearly, she’s ready to get back in our hearts and minds … take a listen to Never Should Have below and rejoice — Ashanti is back, y’all! More »
For The Soundtrack To 'Trance'
Yesterday we got to check out a new trailer for the movie Trance, from Trainspotting director Danny Boyle. I was excited about the movie because the cast looks really good, and now it’s looking like lots of crazy-talented people are involved in the project. British singer Emeli Sandé is contributing to the movie’s soundtrack with Here It Comes, and today we get our first listen to the beautiful song (produced by Rick Smith). Peep the audio above for more! And go to DirectLyrics to check out the lyrics to Here It Comes. It’s Emeli so… there’s no way it’s gonna be, like, less than good.
