"The lights are so bright / But they never blind me"
Taylor Swift has released a new song from her upcoming new album 1989 and, IMHO, it’s the best song she’s dropped thus far. The first song from 1989 that Taylor released was the infectious but not entirely spectacular Shake It Off (I know a lot of people really love the song, I think it’s just OK). Then, Taylor released Out Of The Woods (a song she reportedly wrote about her brief relationship with Harry Styles of One Direction) which, I feel, is a really great pop song. Today we get to hear, in full, the track Welcome To New York which will be the first song on her new album. Click below and have a listen. More »
Announces the video for 'Baby Don't Lie' is out TOMORROW
Gwen Stefani is super serious about her return to the music biz because not only did she officially release her new single Baby Don’t Lie today but she also released a snippet of another new song titled Spark The Fire, which you can listen to above. Gwen previewed the song on the radio earlier this morning and as you can hear, it’s a damn fine song (OMG OMG she’s back again). Just moments ago on her official Twitter profile, Gwen announced that the completed music video for Baby Don’t Lie will be released tomorrow!
My video for #BabyDontLie premieres tomorrow on @Vevo! Tune in to #TheVoice tonight for a sneak peek & join my Twitter Q&A at 10pm EST!
OMG, so much new Gwen stuff right now! I was hoping she might release another single this year … at this rate, she may release her entire new album by Thanksgiving :D
It's a good day for Gwen fans
Earlier today we got our FIRST LISTEN of Gwen Stefani‘s new solo song Baby Don’t Lie and right now, we get to hear more new music from Gwen. Calvin Harris has released a short teaser of his new song Together which features Stefani on guest vocals. Much like Maroon 5‘s collab with Gwen, My Heart Is Open, this new Calvin Harris song (from what I can discern from this preview clip) sounds much, much better with Gwen‘s vocals. Have a listen above and get a second helping of new Gwen Stefani music for the day.
The Comeback Single
It has been a veritable lifetime since Gwen Stefani last released solo music and just a few weeks ago, we learned that she was putting the finishing touches on a new solo album. Today we get to hear the FIRST bit of new music that Gwen has released in 6 years … today we get to hear her brand new song Baby Don’t Lie. The song, I understand, was co-written by Benny Blanco (who worked with Kesha when she was Ke$ha and our dear Britney Spears) and Ryan Tedder of One Republic (which is evident when you hear the music). The song is more mid-tempo that I would’ve guessed but it is a crazy infectious song at first listen. The song will be available for download on iTunes in seconds, I’m sure (on Monday, to be exact). I gotta know … what do you think?

"We gonna take it to a whole ‘nother level"

'Marching on Ferguson'
Tom Morello, guitarist for Rage Against the Machine, has released an anthem titled Marching on Ferguson as a way of showing his support for the on-going protests in Missouri where people are still reeling of the killing of unarmed Black teen Michael Brown by a police officer — who remains free and is, thus far, not facing any prosecution at all. Morello first performed the song live in September and has now made the song available for download at THIS site set up to encourage activism in Ferguson, MO. aka 'The Song About Harry Styles'
Yesterday we got to hear a very short snippet of Taylor Swift‘s new song Out of the Woods, the second from her forthcoming new album 1989, and as you may recall — that snippet was painfully short. Today we get to hear the song in full and, as you can hear above, it’s a pretty great pop song. Rumor claims that this song was written about Taylor‘s short romantic relationship with Harry Styles of One Direction and a careful dissection of the lyrics appears to back up that rumor. Have a listen of the song in full above and then click below to read the lyrics and see if you can piece together Taylor‘s romance with Harry from the lyrics of this song. UPDATE: If he embed above isn’t working, there is a working stream of the song below. More »
The full song is released tomorrow
Taylor Swift is about to unleash a new song from her new album but before she does so, she is teasing us today with a short snippet of the track to get us excited. Out of the Woods is Taylor‘s new song and this morning on Good Morning America, a short portion of what sounds like the chorus was previewed on national television. It has been suggested that Out of the Woods is a song that Taylor wrote about her relationship with Harry Styles of One Direction … so once the song is released in full tomorrow, a proper dissection of the song’s lyrics can be undertaken to determine the validity of that claim. Click above to hear this short sample of Out of the Woods. Does this clip make you excited to hear the full song tomorrow?
