Paging CeCe Peniston
Katy Perry won’t be releasing her new album Prism until later on this month but thus far we’ve gotten to hear two songs in full from the album (Roar and Dark Horse) and today we get to hear a third. Perry‘s newest song Walking On Air has leaked its way online for our listening pleasure. As I understand it, Katy was inspired by CeCe Peniston‘s 1991 song Finally and it sounds like Swedish producer Klas Åhlund (who has worked with Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue and Robyn) helped her achieve that sound. Click the embed above to hear Walking On Air in full and see what you think. Personally, I kind of like it. I may not be the biggest Katy Perry fan but I can appreciate her homage to one of the greatest pop songs of the 90′s. What do you think?
Bonus: Click below to see the video for CeCe Peniston‘s classic song Finally and be reminded of just how amazing that song still is. More »
The Album Sounds ... Interesting
We are still a week away from the release of Miley Cyrus‘s new album BANGERZ which, as you may recall, Miley is really hoping will be an impactful and memorable album. Today, ahead of the album’s release, we get to hear 30 second clips of each of the 16 songs included on the deluxe version of BANGERZ. The clips have been posted for streaming online so that fans can get a taste of the music before they shell out the bucks to buy the album. I’ve listened to the clips a few times now and I have to say … I’m not really that impressed. Granted, it’s difficult to judge a full some from just a 30 second clip but based on what I’ve heard thus far, I don’t think BANGERZ will have the memorable impact that Cyrus is hoping for. More »

That-Ish-Cray Of The Day
First of all, Pusha T is about to take over the game and it’s gonna be real awkward. Literally everyone, everywhere is predicting that his album My Name Is My Name is going to be the best [rap] album of the year. “Highly-anticipated” doesn’t even begin to describe the hype surrounding this collection and I’m pretty psyched for him. Now, here’s the crayest thing ever: somehow, some way, Oscar-nominee and celebrated actor Joaquin Phoenix ended up on what will surely be one of the biggest albums of the year. Y’all remember when he wanted to be a rapper, right? LMAO, well, it looks like he decided to do some things on the producing end instead. He and Kanye West (who went on the biggest rant ever about how Pusha T is that ISH) co-produced Pusha‘s new single King Push, and you can check out the song + visuals above. I cannot get over the Joaquin factor, but I’m definitely psyched for this album’s release.
Chvrches are Down for Whitnay
The BRILLIANT band Chvrches paid a visit to Zane Lowe‘s radio program on BBC Radio 1 (the very same radio show where Kanye West talked for an hour about any and everything … which resulted in a spoof by Jimmy Kimmel which then resulted in a ridiculous Twitter rant by West) to promote the release this week of their debut album The Bones of What You Believe. In addition to performing live versions of their new songs, Chvrches also performed a cover of Whitney Houston‘s classic breakup song It’s Not Right, But It’s Okay. And what, pray tell, does this Whitney cover sound like? Click below and have a listen. More »
The First Single from her Debut Album
Last week we learned that model/singer Sky Ferreira was arrested on charges of drug possession in New York but clearly she is not letting that little incident get in the way of her career plans. Sky has released today the music video for her new single You’re Not The One, the first from her upcoming debut album Night Time, My Time (due out on October 29). Sky is channeling some serious Papa Don’t Preach-era Madonna in this video clip. The video is just meh. to me but I quite like the song. It seems like we’ve been hearing FOREVER about Sky‘s plan to release an album … and it’s finally almost here. We’ll have to wait and see if anything comes from that arrest but if Sky gets her way, it’s full speed ahead on finally getting her music career off the ground.

New Zealand pop star Lorde is getting ready to blow up/has blown up/will continue to blow up all over the place if I have anything to do with it. Peep the video above to listen to her new, currently unreleased album in full! So far, I’m loving it!
Pure Heroine (not to be confused with heroin) hits shelves on September 30.

From 'The 20/20 Experience 2 of 2'
Earlier in 2013 we all came to the realization that this was the year of Justin Timberlake. He came outta nowhere, announced one album– dropped it, killed the game– and then came through and announced a second album. I’m not gonna lie, I’d kinda forgotten that he was running 2013 until I saw him perform at the MTV Video Music Awards… and then I was like, ‘Oh yeah, that’s right. He runs 2013.’ After sharing some teasers on Instagram, Justin has officially released his new single TKO. I am loving this song right now; it’s my 6 AM cup a’ joe, and we all know Timbaland makes life happy. Peep the dopeness above! What are your thoughts on the new single?
The 20/20 Experience 2 of 2 will be released on September 30.

PLUS, Check out Britney's STUNNING new Promo Photos
Even before Britney Spears‘s stunning new single Work Bitch was released, before anyone even heard it, it was rumored that the song might contain a sample of RuPaul‘s classic 1992 single Supermodel (You Better Work). But an industrious fan decided to mashup the two songs into something I like to call Supermodel (You Better Work Bitch)! Click below to hear Britney‘s Work Bitch remixed and mashedup up with RuPaul‘s Supermodel (You Better Work) and hear how perfectly the songs go together.
