Nothing Compares 2 a Prince Cover
Sinéad O’Connor shot to international fame back in 1990 with the release of the song Nothing Compares 2 U, a song that was written by Prince. 24 years later we get to hear Sinéad‘s version of another Prince song, this time I Would Die 4 U. Sinéad‘s version of I Would Die 4 U will be included on a compilation album titled Purple Reggae which features reggae versions of classic Prince songs (due out later this month). Click below to sample Sinéad‘s take on this iconic Prince track and hear what it sounds like when Sinéad takes on Prince again. More »
Last month Shannon shared a trailer for the new Denzel Washington film The Equalizer (which is based on the TV series of the same name) and while that trailer was all well and good, the trailer we get to see today is a bit better because it features a new song by Eminem and Sia. Em and Sia have collaborated on this as-yet untitled track for the film and as you can hear in the video embedded above, it’s a pretty catchy tune. Sia has been working with everyone lately so this collab with Eminem is not at all surprising. I suspect we’ll get to hear this song in full sometime soon, hopefully with a title. Check out the trailer above and hear what you think of this new song by Eminem and Sia.

22 Jump Street will hit theaters this weekend and to get the party started a bit early we get to hear today the newly revamped theme song for the movie. Rappers Angel Haze and Ludacris were tapped with putting their own spin on the Jump Street theme song and as you can hear above, it’s deffo a party song to get you in the mood. I’m not crazy about EDM banger club songs but I do enjoy the cleverness of putting this new spin on the classic theme song. Have a listen, have a jello shot (or two) and get ready to party down on Jump Street.
"You're burin' up / I'm coolin' down"
A new song from Lana Del Rey‘s new album Ultraviolence has made its way to the Internets for our listening pleasure today. Like the earlier songs that we’ve heard from this album thus far (West Coast, Shades of Cool and Ultraviolence), this new song is really great. Click the embed above to hear LDR‘s Brooklyn Baby and try not to fall too deeply in love.
"I put on some make-up / And turn on the tape deck"

Kelly Rowland has a hot new track out today titled The Game which is featured on a new compilation album sponsored by Pepsi Cola. Pepsi Beats of the Beautiful Game is a soccer-themed album that features songs by Janelle Monaé, Rita Ora, Santigold, Timbaland and others. As I understand it, this album is also being released as a visuals album when it comes out on June 10. Click below to get your first listen of Kelly‘s song The Game. I’ve already listened to the song a few times and I really like it, I think you will like it, too. More »
The Black Knight
A previously unreleased but long-rumored song titled Black Bruce Wayne by Kanye West has leaked its way to the Internets and altho the clip featured below is only a short snippet, it does give us a pretty good feel for what the full song sounds like. I’m not sure if this song was meant for Kanye‘s previous album Yeezus and just didn’t make the cut or if it will appear in full on his upcoming follow-up album due out this year but now that a snippet of the song has come to light, I suspect that the full song will get leaked eventually. Until then, click below to get this small taste of Black Bruce Wayne. More »
"I'm seeing you again"
In April we learned that the former Making The Band boy band O-Town was planning an Ashley Parker Angel-less reunion this year and earlier this month, we saw photos from the group’s most recent photoshoot as the newly reformed O-Town. Today we get our first listen of the groups new single Skydive, which will appear on O-Town‘s upcoming new album Lines & Circles. The new album won’t be out until August 3 but Skydive gives us a good feel for what we can expect when the album drops in a few months. Altho I’m not a big fan of pop ballads, I have to admit that this new O-Town song sounds heaps better than I thought it would. Have a listen below. More »

My OFFICIAL Memorial Day Anthem
Lana Del Rey is getting ready to drop her new album Ultraviolence, and we’ve got our first listen today. I. Effing. Love. This is such a perfect track for today. My home is amazingly and unusually quiet, I’m about to get into that Mad Men finale, and LDR is serenading me. She’s teamed up with Rick Nowels again, (he co-wrote Summertime Sadness and Young And Beautiful) Give it a listen and tell me what you think! Do you love, or nah?
If you say nah, we seriously cannot be friends today. C’mon! That guitar riff? Perfection.
