"I get high off your memory"
Nicki Minaj has just released a new song titled Pills N Potions and as you can hear below, the sound of this track may not be what you might expect to come from the rapper turned actress turned singer. Pills N Potions is a pop ballad, plain and simple. The song starts out like a Sia song and then offers a bit of Nicki‘s traditional rap style in the verses. We know that Nicki has a new album titled The Pink Print due out this year … have a listen below to get your first taste of that album by way of this new song. More »

Don't call it a Remix
Oh wow … you’ve got to listen to this … William Orbit, the man responsible for the could’ve been brilliant song Alien on Britney Spears‘s most recent album Britney Jean has just released a new version of the track that completely reimagines the song — in tone, in style, in production — everything. As you may know, will.i.am — as the album’s executive producer — had final say in how the songs turned out on the album and many feel that Orbit‘s Alien could’ve sounded so much better without will.i.am‘s influence. This new version of the song proves that fact. Trust me, you’re gonna wanna listen to William Orbit‘s version of Alien by Britney Spears below. More »
"Basically boy ..."
Last Friday, Mariah Carey debuted her new song You Don’t Know What to Do during a live performance on the Today show and today, we get to hear the studio version of the track in full. You Don’t Know What to Do, which features Wale on guest vocals, was officially released to radio today and while I enjoyed the live performance of the song last week, I am in LUST with the studio version of the song. This is a classic Mariah sound in a brand new song. Have a listen below and love along with me. More »
Back in March we learned that Miley Cyrus teamed up with Wayne Coyne of The Flaming Lips to record a cover of the Beatles song Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. Last night, during her concert stop in Manchester, England, Miley and The Flaming Lips performed Lucy in front of her screaming audience of fans. To be honest, I wasn’t sure what to make of the news that Miley would be covering the Beatles but after hearing this performance … I guess I’m kind of impressed. I’d have to hear the studio version to make a better determination but this live performance turned out pretty sweet. Check out the video above and see what you think of Miley and The Lips‘s cover of this Beatles classic.
Who can it be now?
Billboard magazine got their hands on a snippet of a NEW song by an artist that they cannot name. The song has a heavy disco sound, which they say sounds like a Daft Punk track, and is set for release in the near future. There are a number of artists that I can think of working on new music right now — Madonna, for one — so it’s possible that this song tease might be from a big name artist. I suppose it’s also possible that the song might come from a newcomer so … have a listen below and see what you think of this mysterious new song. More »

Quench your THIRST right here
Back in January we got to hear the “comeback single” by Danity Kane titled Bye Baby and while that song didn’t really set the airwaves on fire we get to hear today DK‘s new song Lemonade which is a SICK new song. Lemonade features Tyga on guest vocals and, honestly, is the best song that Danity Kane has released in years … possibly, the best song of their career. I am a HUGE fan of the DK single Damaged (from their Welcome to the Dollhouse album which came out in 2008) but Lemonade has just become my fave DK song of all time. Have a listen. More »
With a little help from Wale

In addition to her hit songs Touch My Body and Always Be My Baby, Mimi debuted a new song titled You Don’t Know What to Do from her forthcoming new album Me. I Am Mariah … The Elusive Chanteuse. MC had a little help from rapper Wale during her performance today and, honestly, I really love the song. 'Allison' is the first single from 'Blood & Lemonade'
American Hi-Fi, the band that brought us the infectious song Flavor of the Weak way back in 2001, is back with a new album titled Blood & Lemonade due out in September. The first single from the album, Allison, has been released for our listening pleasure now and can be heard in full above. I have LOVED American Hi-Fi ever since the band released their first album all those years ago. Lead singer Stacy Jones was the drummer for Letters to Cleo and then Veruca Salt before he started his own band. In recent years, he’s been the music director and drummer for Miley Cyrus‘s touring band (but I don’t really hold that against him). Click below to see the cover art for Blood & Lemonade. More »
