Have A Listen!
A couple of years ago, our dear Britney Spears did Rihanna a solid by appearing on a remix of her song S&M. It looks like Ri Ri is returning the favor because a snippet of a NEW remix of Work Bitch has hit the Internets that is attributed to Rihanna on vocals. Supposedly titled Work Bitch (Twerk Remix), this short snippet from the song reminds us how hot it can been when Britney and Rihanna work on a collab together. "I gotta mark my territory"
Britney Spears released the audio of her new single Perfume, the second from her upcoming new album Britney Jean (due out on December 3), which is now available for our listening pleasure. I have to be honest, the first time I listened to the song the whole way thru I did so with my mouth wide open. It’s such a different sound for Britney. The song is definitely one of her strongest overall, in very many ways. I will need to listen to this song a few more times to fully process everything it entails … but what do you think? Are you impressed with Perfume? Does the song live up to all of the positive talk we’ve been hearing in the past few weeks?

Eminem has been releasing a slew of new songs from his upcoming album The Marshall Mathers LP 2. Most recently we heard his collaboration with Rihanna (Monster), and today another collab has been leaked from his collection. Of course I’m psyched because it’s featuring my dude Kendrick Lamar, who actually popped up in Eminem‘s video for his first single Berzerk, so it looks like these two have been having a good time working together. Kendrick is busy sharing his amazingness with the world on the Yeezus tour, and we’ll see Eminem this weekend on Saturday Night Live. For now, let’s listen to the new jam!
A Film by Beyoncé Knowles
Earlier this year, Beyoncé debuted her documentary film Life is But a Dream on HBO and today we learn that the film is going to be released on DVD next month. To promote the DVD release, a video trailer has been released that features a portion of a new song titled God Made You Beautiful. As I understand it, this song is exclusive to this release and is only available to folks who purchase the DVD. Check out the embed above to hear a portion of God Made You Beautiful and be reminded of just how entertaining Bey‘s documentary film still is. Are you planning to pick up a DVD copy of Life is But a Dream?
"You think I'm crazy"
This month alone, Eminem has released the new songs Survival and Rap God from his upcoming new album The Marshall Mathers LP 2 and last month, he dropped another new song titled Berzerk. Today, we get to hear the 4th new song off his new album, a collaboration he did with Rihanna titled The Monster. Of the new songs released thus far, The Monster sounds the most radio-friendly to me (much in the same way that Em and Ri Ri‘s earlier collab Love the Way You Lie sounded) and may be the biggest hit of the new music Em has released thus far. Click the embed above to hear The Monster in full and see what you think. It’s a shame this song didn’t come out over the summer because it’s a track that I can see pouring out of open windows as cars drive by. I’m loving this track, are you?
"You can't just fall and not get over things"
It is time, once again, for a #MusicMondays update from the prince of pop Justin Bieber. His 10 week plan of releasing a new song every Monday morning leading up to the release of his new album in December rolls on today with the release of a new song titled Recovery. This song is a bit more upbeat than the previous songs we’ve heard in Mondays past but the R&B vibe is still going strong. Honestly, for the life of me, I don’t hear the appeal of these songs but JB drives the kiddies wild so there are plenty of folks out there who love his sound. Click the embed above to hear Recovery in full and see if it tickles your fancy … then, click below to read an official statement released by The Biebs that explains to fans the inspiration behind the song. Slowin' things down a bit
One Direction is readying the release of a new album titled Midnight Memories, due out next month, and today they officially release the audio of their new single Story of My Life. Unlike the boyband’s earlier upbeat pop songs, Story is a slower more serious ballad … and I ain’t feelin’ it. Truth be told, and I make this clear all the time, I am NOT a fan of pop ballads. It takes a very special pop ballad to speak to me … and unfortch, this new 1D song doesn’t cut it — for me. That said, I’m certain that the band’s loyal fanbase will eat the song up and rush it right up the singles charts. Click the embed above and see what you think. Are you feelin’ this slower incarnation of One Direction? Are you a fan of Story of My Life?
The Song Is Lovely, But Your Thoughts On The Mustache?
Lady Gaga has been releasing new music from her upcoming ARTPOP album, and I’m starting to get excited about the collection. I think it was that R. Kelly song that did it for me– Do What U Want was pretty dope, and so is this new song, IMO. Gaga debuted Gypsy yesterday in Berlin and although the ‘stache she’s rocking is a wee bit distracting, I like the track. Peep the video above for more! And you can check out the lyrics over at DirectLyrics. Are you feeling the new ARTPOP ballad?

"Guns go off when I enter the building"
In June she gave us Bring The Noize, in September she gave us Come Walk With Me and today, we get another new song from M.I.A.‘s new album Matangi. Click the embed above to hear her new song Y.A.L.A. in full. The track appears to be her commentary on the YOLO mentality (you only live once) that is quite popular with the kids these days. I dig the beat but I’m not sure that there really needs to be an anti-YOLO anthem. HMMM. Take a listen, see what you think. Matangi hits stores on November 5.
Sounds Familiar, if you ask me ...
Yesterday we got to hear, in full, a new song by Lady Gaga and R. Kelly titled Do What U Want which I actually really like … a lot … much to my shock and surprise. Today, Gaga is coming at us with a snippet of the title track from her upcoming new album ARTPOP which, I have to point out, sounds very similar to another song by another artist. I listened to the snippet of the song ARTPOP featured in the embed above a few times and thought that the music sounded very familiar … and then it hit me — the beginning of the song sounds a lot like Selena Gomez‘s song Love You Like a Love Song (it occurred to me because the Selena song is in my running playlist and I just listened to it during my Detroit Marathon run on Sunday). I have to believe that the similar sounding songs are a coincidence, right? After all, Lady Gaga would never intentionally put out a song that sounds too much like someone else’s song, right? HMMM. Click the embed above to hear this just-released snippet of ARTPOP and then click below to watch the music video for Selena Gomez‘s Love You Like a Love Song and see if you can hear a similarity.
