Kylie Minogue Announces New Album, Teases New Single

The British music magazine NME announced late yesterday on their official Twitter account that Kylie Minogue would be making an “extra special” announcement today … which we now know is news of a new single to come in June and a new album to come in July. Kylie.com has announced today that Kylie‘s next album — Aphrodite — will be released in July and the first single from the disc — All the Lovers — will be released in June:

I suspected Kylie‘s announcement might be music-related but I didn’t think she’d be announcing a new single AND a new album. But the news gets better — after the jump, check out the album artwork for Aphrodite and listen to a clip of her new single All the Lovers

Listen: Britney Spears, ‘Dramatic’

New new previously unreleased Britney Spears song titled Dramatic has leaked its way to the Internets for our listening pleasure. While this song is believed NOT to have anything to do with the new album Britney is recording for release later on this year, it does appear to be an outtake from her earlier recording sessions:

The song previously leaked online when Heidi Montag first sang over the vocal and then released the song last year … but, at last, we get to hear the track in full without tags, without anyone else’s vocal but Britney‘s. Listen to Dramatic in full after the jump …

"Heaven Help Me"

We are still 5 days away from the premiere of the Glee episode titled The Power of Madonna but right now we get to hear — IN FULL — the Glee cast performance of the Madonna hit song Like a Prayer:

First we got to see Sue Sylvester reenact the entire Vogue music video HERE and now we get to hear the Glee version of Like a Prayer … it’s, like, too much awesomeness to handle in one week. But The Power of Madonna episode will feature both of these songs AND 6 other songs (well, 7 songs if you count the Borderline/Open Your Heart medley as two different songs)!! Now, I’ve already watched the ep 3 times in full but I’m gonna hold off on watching it again until the episode airs on Tuesday. T-minus 5 days and counting … are you ready?

"I'm not a character, I'm in rare form"

ChrstinaAugilera.com has finally released Xtina‘s new single Not Myself Tonight, the first from her upcoming album Bionic, which you can listen to in full right here:

As you recall, Xtina has been hyping up the release of this single all week long … and I think it paid off. Whereas I thought the 15-second preview we got to hear last week made the song sound a bit like a Britney Spears outtake, as a whole I think the track stands apart. I still think the beat sounds a bit like a Britney song but Xtina‘s vocals make the song her own. I love the vibe of the track … I think this first single will be a hit. If it’s indicative of the Bionic album as a whole, then the whole disc could be a smash Summer hit as well. What do y’all think of Not Myself Tonight … do we like?

First Listen: Christina Aguilera, ‘Not Myself Tonight’ (15 Second Preview)

Yesterday, we got our first look at the cover artwork for Christina Aguilera‘s new album Bionic (due for release on June 8) and we learned that her new single Not Myself Tonight will make its world premiere on March 30 … but today, we get to listen to a 15 second preview of the track RIGHT NOW:

Now, I swear I’m not trying to make the predictable Britney Spears comparison but … this song kinda sounds like a Britney Spears song. Upon first listen, Not Myself Tonight sounded to me like an outtake from Britney‘s most recent releases (which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, IMHO). I mean, it’s deffo Xtina‘s vocals but the song sounds like something Britney could’ve released on her last album. After the jump, listen to the preview and judge for yourselves …

First Listen: Jessica Simpson, ‘Who We Are’

Jessica Simpson called in for an interview this morning on Ryan Seacrest‘s morning radio show On Air with Ryan Seacrest on KIIS FM here in LA to talk about the world premiere broadcast of her new song Who We Are which will be the theme song to her new VH1 reality TV series The Price of Beauty. As you may be aware, Jessica strangely teamed up with Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan to work on this song (and, reportedly, to work on other things as well) and she talked a bit about her collaboration with Billy to Ryan Seacrest as well:

Jessica claims that she “wrote” the song herself but only got help from Billy and his producer who “lives up the street” from her and offered their assistance. It was her aim to work “organically” with these talented musicians and finds Billy “so kind” for helping her with the song. She went on to say that she can’t find “good enough words to speak about” him and refers to him as her “good friend”. It is her desire to make more music with him in the future. I’ve heard the song, it’s kinda terrible … but I’ll let you judge for yourselves.

After the jump, listen to Who We Are in full, check out a preview vid clip of Jessica‘s new show The Price of Beauty and find out where YOU can download a free MP3 of Who We Are just in case you like the song …

Listen: Dakota Fanning Featuring Kristen Stewart, ‘Cherry Bomb’

The biopic The Runaways won’t hit theaters for a couple of weeks but right now we get to hear actresses Kristen Stewart (who plays Joan Jett) and Dakota Fanning (who plays Cherie Currie) singing the Runaways hit song Cherry Bomb!

I gotta admit … they sound pretty damn good. I’m guessing their vocals were autotuned to perfection for the soundtrack but still … they sound like the real Runaways. After the jump, check out a couple new promo photos from the film and listen to the song Cherry Bomb, as sung by Fanning and Stewart, in full …

The first single from 'Nobody's Daughter'?
Download: Hole, ‘Skinny Little Bitch’

Courtney Love, or should I say, Hole has unveiled a new song titled Skinny Little Bitch for free download on the official site for the band’s new album Nobody’s Daughter:

As you are prolly well aware, C. Love‘s new version of Hole (which, except for Love, is totally devoid of any actual members of Hole) is about ready to finally release their new album and this new track is our first listen to the band’s new sound. You can head over to NobodysDaughter.com to register for the MP3 download or you can just get it by clicking HERE (this download is only available today, so get it while you can). The song is pretty rockin’ … nothing really special but not at all terrible. It’s got that 1996 sound that will, very likely, appeal to fans. I’m curious to hear what y’all think of the track. Thoughts?

Another song from the 'Tron: Legacy' soundtrack, or another fake?
First Listen: Daft Punk, ‘The Crash’

Last Saturday we got our first listen to a purported new song titled Fragile from Daft Punk which is reported to be a leak from the upcoming soundtrack to the Disney sequel film Tron: Legacy. It has since been suggested that the track is not a new Daft Punk song and may not be from the Tron 2 soundtrack at all. Today a new track has come to light, titled The Crash … again, it is being reported that the song is a leak from the soundtrack to Tron: Legacy:

On the heels of the now-debunked “Fragile” comes “the Crash”, yet another alleged track from Daft Punk’s much-anticipated Tron 2 score. Clocking in at over 12 minutes and–more importantly–pretty damn good, “the Crash” is either the real deal or the work of someone who should probably be releasing music under his own name. It’s worth a spin either way.

The song has that same dreamy feel that Fragile does … whether or not this “new” song is a Tron track remains to be seen. Listen to it in full, after the jump …
