Earlier today I posted amazingly funny video of Ricky Gervais‘s brilliant opening monologue as host of the 2011 Golden Globe Awards last night and mentioned that the comic is taking a bit of heat from the celebs he skewered on live television today. The Hollywood Reporter nabbed an interview with Philip Berk, the president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (the ones who award the Golden Globes) and he has gone on the record to say that Gervais “definitely crossed the line” with the jokes he delivered last night. Which means, uh oh, Ricky Gervais is in trouble, y’all.

Last month we learned that Kelsey Grammer was hoping to get a quickie divorce from his wife Camille Grammer (The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills) because he really, really wants to get married to his much younger fiancée Kayte Walsh. Today we learn that Camille is not at all interested in letting Kelsey off that easily … and she plans to ensure that the couple’s divorce is no rushed and speedy matter.

Rumor has it that Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, collectively referred to as TomKat, are planning NOT to attend the 2011 Academy Awards this year because the show is being co-hosted by Anne Hathaway. As you may recall, back in November, Anne hosted Saturday Night Live and she hilariously lampooned Katie Holmes in one of the skits. According to rumors going around this week, TomKat are pissed at Anne and, therefore, are boycotting Oscars this year.

Earlier this week we learned that Natalie Mendoza, a lead actress in the troubled Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, has quit the show in the wake of not only her injury during a performance of the show earlier this month but also the serious injury of fellow castmate Christoper Tierney just last week. Today there is more Spider-Man controversy to pass along. A spokesperson for the show is lashing out at professional critics who dared to publish “reviews” of the show which is still in previews and has not yet officially opened … cuz that is gonna get other reviewers to be kind when they write their reviews.

Yesterday we learned that Lindsay Lohan‘s recent after curfew run-in with a Betty Ford staffer allegedly resulted in physical assault, putting Lindsay‘s freedom at risk if the judge overseeing her case determines that she has once again violated the terms of her probation. Today we get to hear from the Betty Ford staffer that alleges the assault (plus we get to see her alleged injuries) in an interview she gave to TMZ … an interview that resulted in her termination from the Betty Ford Center.

Taking a cue from some nightclubs around the world, the city of Stonnington in the South East Melbourne region of Australia has decided to BAN all use of Ed Hardy clothing within their city limits. Here is the message that was posted by Stonnington officials on the window of a shut down Ed Hardy boutique in town:

I have no words … except to say, Bravo! I mean … this is just too awesome for words. I think I might have to pack my bags and move my ass to Stonnington. Woot!

Yesterday afternoon, Kanye West took to his official Twitter profile to vent his frustration over new controversy surrounding the album artwork for his new album titled My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. According to Kanye, his record company expressed concerns over the album art he wants to use for his latest release … album art which he immediately labeled as “banned in the USA”. LMAO!! Firstly, I have to laugh at Kanye‘s comment about “commercialization” … especially since Mr. West has made a fortune commercializing everything he can get his hands on … but I digress. It turns out that Kanye‘s album art wasn’t “banned” by anyone, apparently he was cautioned by his record label that using the art would cause problems with the actual commercialization of the album because retailers like Wal-Mart have a policy about not selling albums with parental advisory stickers on them. Yesterday we saw photos of pseudo-hubby Brad Pitt visiting his pseudo-wife Angelina Jolie on the Hungarian set of the film she is directing there but today we learn that future filming plans for her movie have hit a major obstacle. Production of the film was due to move on to Sarajevo because the film is said to tell the tale of a love story that takes place during the Bosnian war. But, Bosnia has decided to revoke Angelina‘s filming rights in the country due to complaints from women’s groups about the subject matter of the film:

Bosnian authorities on Wednesday revoked permission for US star Angelina Jolie to shoot part of her directorial debut film there after complaints from a women war victims group, Bosnian radio reported. Gavrilo Grahovac, the Culture Minister of the Muslim-Croat federation — one of the two entities in post-war Bosnia — revoked permission to shoot scenes in Sarajevo and the central town Zenica, he said on Bosnian radio. Hollywood trade daily Variety reported that the film will tell the story of a Serbian man and Bosnian woman who fall in love in the middle of the war, but are driven to take different paths. However Bosnian press reported the movie would be a love story between a Muslim victim and her rapist, a Serb, causing outrage among victims’ groups. “They no longer have the authorisation to shoot in Bosnia. They will have it if they send us the scenario with a story which will be different from what we have been told by people who read it,” Grahovac told the radio. The culture minister said that while he could not stop the film from being shot somewhere else, revoking the filming license was a way to “express our disapproval for the shooting of a movie which does not tell the truth and hurts a large number of victims”. Jolie has already started shooting the film in Hungary and was planning to continue it in Bosnia. According to Bosnian actress Zana Marjanovic, who has landed the lead in the movie, the film is “an epic drama against the backdrop of the 1992-92 Bosnian war”. But women war victims groups were up in arms over the film’s reported subject of a rapist and his victim falling in love. “This is misleading history. Among thousands of testimonies by women raped during the war, there is not a single one that tells of a love story between a victim and her rapist,” Bakira Hasecic, the head of the “Women victims of war” association in Sarajevo, told AFP. “We will not allow anyone to falsify our pain,” she added.

It sounds like either there is a misunderstanding about the film’s storyline (which will likely be cleared up very quickly, if that is the case) or Angelina is trying to pull a fast one on the people of Bosnia. I cannot, for the life of me, imagine a scenario where Angelina Jolie would want to make a movie about a woman falling in love with her rapist … so I’m certain that this hullabaloo will turn out to be much ado about nothing. Still, I applaud the Bosnian government for making it very clear that they hold the women’s groups in their country in such high regard. I’m curious to see what happens next … I hope it will all get sorted out — either the misunderstanding will be cleared up OR we’ll know for sure what kind of movie Angelina Jolie is trying to make.

TMZ is reporting that Michael Lohan, estranged father of Lindsay Lohan (who is currently undergoing rehabilitation treatment at the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, CA), was turned away from the rehab center when he tried to visit her there last week:

We’re told Michael headed for the desert last Thursday … to Rancho Mirage, home of the Betty Ford Center and temporary digs of Lindsay Lohan. Michael was turned away by security. He was told visiting hours were over. Michael tells us he asked if was on a “no contact” list and they told him no … Michael says he’s been on the horn with people at Betty Ford, asking them to please involve him in family therapy with Lindsay.

Despite L. Lo‘s apparent unwillingness to meet with her father, she is reportedly welcoming with open arms her mother Dina Lohan and her younger siblings for a visit this week. As you can imagine, Daddy Lohan is furious at being left out … so much so that he is counting on God Himself to punish Dina for her actions:

Lindsay’s mom spoke with Barbara Walters by phone over the weekend, and details of their conversation were revealed this morning on The View. Walters say Dina wanted to make it clear that she is a “reliable and good mother” despite the public’s perception. Lindsay’s mom refrained from talking about her ex Michael Lohan, who reportedly is not “on the list” of visitors at the Betty Ford Clinic. Michael Lohan tells X17online exclusively: “To say something like that just shows how evil Dina is, how controlling she is, how self-centered she is and how she does not care about Lindsay’s therapy or solving her internal struggle which caused this. I think it’s clear to see that this is proof of how Dina has destroyed our family, driven a wedge between us and has polluted our childrens’ minds. I pray for her because God will get even with her.” Lindsay will be appearing before Judge Elden Fox for a probation hearing on October 22.

Personally, I think Lindsay would benefit if NEITHER of her toxic parents were allowed to visit her in rehab. I get that addicts can benefit from family therapy but if you consider the kind of family that Lindsay has to deal with … well … it’s no wonder the girl drinks. When you’ve got one parent praying to God for punishment of the other … you know you got probs. OY!

The epic feud between Eminem and Mr. & Mrs. Cannon (namely Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey) has been reignited this week with the release of a new diss track titled I’ma Slick Rick unleashed by Nick against Em. As you may recall, Mariah Carey was still peeved at Eminem for releasing embarrassing audio of Mariah which he recorded when the two of them were romantically involved a few years ago … as a result, she seemingly mocked Em last year in her music video for Obsessed (implying that he is “so obsessed” with her). In retaliation, Eminem released a diss track titled The Warning where he threatens Mariah with the release of nude photos among other things (you can read all about and listen to The Warning HERE). This week, a little over a year after Em released The Warning, Nick releases a diss track of his own where he accuses Eminem of being so “feminine” that he has to hide behind his bodyguards — then he refers to Em “Teddy Ruxpin” … or some such nonsense. A little over a year after Eminem released the scathing diss track “The Warning” aimed at Mariah Carey, Nick Cannon has responded with a diss of his own. Cannon, who is Carey’s husband, dropped “I’ma Slick Rick” yesterday (September 12). Over the beat of Cali Swag District’s “Teach Me How To Dougie,” Cannon borrows Slick Rick’s cadence, delivery and flow. The song parlays lyrics from such Slick Rick staples as “Children’s Story” and “La Di Da Di.” Only the second verse of the song, which clocks in at under three minutes, is directly aimed at Shady. “I dunno if I should hit him cuz he’s feminine, Slick / Excuse me, Eminem, but why you lyin’ on your dick? / Erectile dysfunction, you want to get a lump, then? … / I see your mouth moving, but you’re soft, Teddy Ruxpin” In the song, Cannon claims that Eminem was afraid to confront him at the BET Awards, where he claims Shady was surrounded by security, whereas he was “rollin’ dolo.” Also notable is Cannon’s use of the N-word, as the rapper has generally maintained a clean-cut image.

While I can appreciate and understand Nick‘s need to defend his wife’s honor, I can’t help but feel that this new diss track is a year late and a dollar short. Obvs, Nick still harbors resentment for Eminem over his treatment of wifey Mariah but why dredge up the past like this in order to reignite an old feud? It’s been a year, dude … move on. But, I can’t lie … the fact that Nick is fighting back in this way is a bit entertaining to me.
