Last night I was very lucky to be invited to attend Duran Duran‘s amazing Unstaged performance at the Mayan Theater in downtown LA and was finally able to see LIVE for the first time one of my all-time fave bands. Because of the horrid weather, I missed the first couple songs of the performance but I did get to the venue in time to see the BEST parts of the show. Yesterday afternoon, David and I made our way down to Marina Del Rey, CA to visit with his wonderful aunt Judy who is in town for the weekend at a psychologists conference and we were able to spend a few hours with her catching up and trading traveling stories. After our hang out sesh with Judy, we made our way back home so that I could go to the House of Blues in West Hollywood, CA to attend the House of Pain reunion concert. I’m not even kidding you, I had the most amazing time last night. It was not a bad way to spend a Friday night.

Last night David and I met up with Darion and Josh for a catch-up dinner at Fat Fish so that we could share the events of the past 3 weeks and just spend time together. Because David and I had been gone for so long, Darion and I decided we needed to hang out as soon as possible. We had a great time and a great meal together. Afterward, Josh and I made our way to The Troubadour to see Liz Phair live in concert.

Despite the fact that David and I returned home from Berlin > NYC late Sunday night, I had procured a ticket to see Peter Murphy live in concert here in LA last night and there was no way I was gonna miss the show. Normally, when I return home from traveling, I hole myself up in my apartment and refuse to come out for a few days. BUT, I really wanted to see Peter live in concert so … to the Mayan Theater I went last night.

Yesterday was a fun-filled day of so much awesomeness … I can’t even tell you. The Kylie Minogue concert was just amazing … but after the show, David and I hung out for a bit with our new Berlin friends Mark and Emi for a bit to finish out the night. Earlier today, David and I visited what’s left of the Berlin Wall and then spent a leisurely afternoon walking around town. It was not a bad Wednesday, let me tell you.

So … where to begin? Last night David and I got to see Kylie Minogue LIVE in concert on her Les Folies Tour 2011 on her stop here in Berlin, Germany and I can safely say — without question — it was among THE most spectacular shows I’ve ever seen … be it concert, musical, what have you. Kylie‘s Les Folies show is a stunning spectacle for the senses … and one that we were lucky to savor from very close-up in the VIP section called the Splash Zone. Last night, David and I had the EXTREME pleasure of attending the first LA concert performance by Scandinavian singer Oh Land. Her concert was the perfect way to end a very fun day. Tuesday brought the arrival of a fun new toy, allowed me to hang out for a bit with my darling Ollie and then be entertained by one of the most exciting new musical artists around. It was not a bad Tuesday, if I say so myself.

Earlier this week we learned of a few new deets about Britney Spears‘s new music video for her single Hold It Against Me … but today, I have some new information that, to my knowledge, has not been reported anywhere else. According to a trusted source with direct knowledge from the Hold It Against Me music video set, Britney will be doing something very cool in her video … something she’s never done before.

Last night I attended night one of a three night residency at The Troubadour in West Hollywood, CA to see Dashboard Confessional live in concert. For the 10th anniversary of their debut album, Dashboard — well, actually just frontman Chris Carrabba, is touring the US performing the entire album in full with just his acoustic guitar. My ex-bf Erik got me into Dashboard when we were together many moons ago and I never got to see them live … until last night.
