Aretha Franklin Calls Off Her Engagement To Willie Wilkerson

Earlier this month we learned the happy news that Aretha Franklin and her longtime companion William Willie Wilkerson got themselves engaged to be married. Today we learn that Aretha has changed her mind and decided to call off the engagement. In an official statement released today, Aretha reveals that she and Willie were “moving too fast” and got engaged too soon. It’s unclear if Aretha and Willie are still romantically involved but we do know for sure that they are NOT getting married. More »

This morning we got the news about Kristin Cavallari‘s pregnancy with Jay Cutler‘s baby months after they got (re)engaged in November. Pregnancies and bump watching is one of my all time favorite topics to write about and follow, and the news this morning got me thinking about the (somewhat controversial?) topic of pregnancy before marriage. We have seen lots of celebs over the past few years get engaged, have a baby, then get hitched. We’ve also seen baby, then engagement, and of course we have seen baby and no wedding at all. Just a few weeks ago we reported that there were RUMORS circulating about Jessica Biel and Justin Timberlake being engaged. We are still skeptical I guess until we have actual confirmation but US Weekly seems to be sure that the couple are in fact engaged to be married, and have said that Justin proposed to Jess while they were on a romantic ski vacation in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, over the holidays. Very gorgeous and romantic.. but is is true? We hope so but then Jess was seen on Friday at W Magazine’s Golden Globes party at Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood… WITHOUT a ring! Hmm…. More »

Earlier this week Trent uncovered the news that Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez were getting hitched…apparently a jeweler came out and told everyone of the RING. Now, the jeweler has retracted that statement. It seems people aren’t so sure if that engagement has happened YET. More »

Earlier today we learned the news that actors Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez are engaged to be married via the couple’s engagement ring jeweler. Right now we also learn that actors Evan Rachel Wood and Jamie Bell are also reportedly engaged to be married … and, again, the story comes via the new engagement bling that ERW is rockin’ these days. Some of you may know that Evan was previously engaged to be married to Marilyn Manson but while that on-again/off-again relationship couldn’t stand the test of time, it would seem that ERW‘s current relationship with Jamie can. The happy news, by way of People magazine, originates from Halle‘s jeweler who spills the deets about the engagement ring that Olivier had designed for her. As you may recall, the initial news of Justin Timberlake‘s engagement to Jessica Biel came via their jeweler as well … so, apparently, jewelers are now the source for all new celebrity engagements.
