So says RadarOnline
Last week we learned that Kim Zolciak, one of the stars of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, is pregnant with her first child with new beau and Atlanta Falcons football player Kroy Biermann and today we learn that Kim and Kroy are planning to get hitched! Altho the couple have yet to make the news public, RadarOnline reports that the couple are, indeed, engaged to be wed and are planning to tie the knot before their baby boy is born next year:
Real Housewives Of Atlanta star Kim Zolciak is engaged to Atlanta Falcons star Kroy Biermann, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned. The couple – who are expecting their first baby together next year – have not gone public with the news yet, but they plan to marry before the popular reality TV star gives birth. Zolciak, 32, recently confirmed that she was in fact expecting a child with the 25-year-old NFL player following weeks of speculation that she was pregnant. A source told RadarOnline.com: “Kim and Kroy are engaged, and only a few people know about it. They wanted to announce it in a national magazine, but Kim was so excited that she told a couple of close friends about it. Obviously, they are both really happy about both the baby and their engagement and cannot wait to start their new lifes together. Kroy proposed to her and bought her a substantial ring which she has shown to a few friends, although she is not wearing it in public yet. Kim is actually in her second trimester with her pregnancy now, and the couple are still in talks about getting their own spin-off reality show. And if this does not happen then she will want to re-negotiate her terms on The Real Housewives Of Atlanta if her wedding and new baby were to be featured on the show. The other cast members are publicly backing Kim and Kroy but privately there are some jealousies because Kim is very much in the spotlight right now and not everyone is happy about that.”
You may recall that just a few days ago we saw a photo of Kim smoking a cigarette at an Atlanta Falcons game while she was in the first trimester of her pregnancy so it is my hope that now she is planning a wedding, she’ll be too bizzy to smoke cigarettes while pregnant. You know, Kim is fun to watch on Real Housewives but I can’t help but feel sorry first, for the new baby growing in her uterus and second, for Kroy who is only 25 years old. Kim is a larger than life personality who always needs the focus to be on her … I can’t help but feel that her baby and her much younger husband-to-be suffer because of her selfish needs. If you consider the fact that we will all be privy to their new life together because it will be broadcast on TV … well, I honestly do feel bad for Biermann and his not yet born baby boy. I guess we’ll see how all of this actually plays out on the next season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. In the meantime, I guess we should express our congrats to the happy couple … right?
A wedding date has been set!
A week ago today we learned the joyous news that Prince William of Wales proposed marriage to Kate Middleton after 8 years together. Just a couple of days later, Kate was spotted paying an after hours visit to Westminster Abbey and it was presumed that she was scoping out the church as the possible site of the couple’s nuptials … but at that time, no wedding date was announced. Today we not only learn that the couple will, in fact, marry at Westminster Abbey but that the wedding will take place on April 29, 2011:
Britain’s Prince William will marry Kate Middleton on Friday, April 29, at Westminster Abbey in London, the royal family said Tuesday, ending a week of speculation about the date and venue. “The royal family will pay for the wedding, following the precedence set by the marriages of the prince and princess of Wales in 1981 and Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip in 1947,” Prince Charles’ spokeswoman said in a statement. The government will meet any wider transportation or security-related costs, Prime Minister David Cameron said. The thousand-year-old Westminster Abbey has been the favorite of royal fans, the media, and bookies ever since the couple announced their engagement a week ago. Westminster Abbey was founded in 960, with the present Gothic church dating to 1245. Since 1066, it has been the “coronation church” — the place where kings and queens are crowned when they ascend to the throne. Its close ties to the monarchy means it has also been the site of many royal weddings and funerals. Queen Elizabeth II married Prince Philip there in 1947, when she was still a princess; her father, King George VI, got married there in 1923. The funeral service for Princess Diana, William’s mother, took place there in 1997. Middleton was photographed leaving the Abbey last week with her parents, and British newspapers reported they had a private after-hours tour. The wedding day will be a national holiday, Cameron said, though Scottish lawmakers still must approve the measure because Scotland has its own devolved government. “The wedding of Kate and William will be a happy and momentous occasion,” Cameron said in a statement. “We want to mark the day as one of national celebration. A public holiday will ensure the most people possible will have a chance to celebrate on the day” … The palace had already said the wedding would take place in the spring or summer of 2011, but it refused to give a firm date. It’s unclear whether the couple chose April 29 because it coincides with St. Catherine’s Day on the Anglican calendar of saints. The palace has been referring to Middleton as “Catherine” instead of her usual “Kate.”
Wee!! And now we know what date to look forward to for the royal wedding! There is no question in my mind that the wedding date is meant to correspond with St. Catherine’s Day … it’s just so perfect. We are now about 5 months away from the royal wedding of Prince Wills and his princess-to-be Kate Middleton. The eyes of the world will be trained on Westminster Abbey on the morning of April 29 … I cannot wait!!
Cabin Fever turns into Love Sickness
We’ve been hearing a lot about how Prince William proposed to Kate Middleton while the couple were on holiday in Kenya, Africa last month but today according to People magazine and The Sun, we are hearing that the couple got engaged on October 20 in a tiny cabin atop Mount Kenya. Here is our first look at the little romantic spot in Africa where Prince Wills asked Katie kins to be his future wife/princess/queen:
Recalling the moment he asked for her hand in marriage, a happy Prince William said he had whisked Kate Middleton “up somewhere nice in Kenya” in order to display his “romantic side.” Now, the exact spot can be pinpointed: a cabin hut some 10,500 feet above sea level on the side of Mount Kenya, Africa. He and Catherine, as she signed herself in the visitor’s book, were there for one night on Oct. 20, reports the U.K. Sun Describing their fishing trip on Lake Rutundu – but providing no hint that they became engaged – Kate wrote in the book that she had a “wonderful 24 hours! Sadly no fish to be found but we had great fun trying. I love the warm fires and candle lights – so romantic!” She signed it, “Catherine Middleton.” Practical Prince William brought along more than his engagement ring . “Such fun to be back,” his note said. “Bought more warm clothes this time. Looked after so well, thank you guys!” They had gone out to Africa to stay at the 55,000-acre Lewa Downs wildlife reserve with another couple. The ranch is owned by William’s friend Ian Craig, whose daughter Jecca is also close to the prince.
OMG, I love this. While I personally do not find rustic locales to be romantic at all, I can appreciate how other couples might … Prince William and Kate have spent a lot of time in Africa over the 8 years they have been dating so I’m sure this particular locale meant a lot to them. While it may be a bit … odd how quickly this information was sniffed out and published, I guess it’s to be expected of arguably the world’s most famous engaged couple. So now we know where the couple got engaged, we know where the couple will likely wed … all we need now is to know when the couple will marry. I suspect we’ll be hearing the official wedding date very soon.
Pizza, friends and all the fixin's
Last weekend we learned that Jessica Simpson and her newly divorced boyfriend of 6 months have gotten themselves engaged to be married and today we learn from In Touch Weekly magazine that the couple celebrated their engagement with a small party with family and friends last night. Here are the deets from Jerica‘s engagement party as reported on by In Touch Weekly mag:
Less than a week after In Touch exclusively confirmed her engagement, Jessica Simpson celebrated her upcoming nuptials with friends, family and, of course, her fiancé, Eric Johnson, at her parents’ Encino, Calif., estate on November 18. The bride-to-be’s mother, Tina, threw a casual party with pizza and finger foods from La Loggia Italian Bistro and roses from Mark’s Garden for 50 guests, including Jessica’s sister, Ashlee, her brother-in-law, Pete Wentz, and her best friend, CaCee Cobb. “Jessica and Eric looked so happy,” an insider tells In Touch. Not all was smooth sailing, however — the singer, who along with her former football player beau arrived two hours late for the soiree, seemed anxious for guests’ approval of her unique ruby engagement ring. “At one point, she asked one of the servers what she thought of the ring. When the server said it was beautiful, Jessica snapped, ‘You don’t mean that!’” the insider says. But all in all, the blond beauty enjoyed her celebration. “Jessica is in love,” the insider adds, “and kept talking about her wedding plans and new life with Eric.”
LOL at the bit about the ring. While I have no doubt that In Touch is mostly right about the deets from the party, I’m guessing the ring bit is just a gossipy embellishment tossed in for good measure. In all honesty, this little engagement party sounds like it was a fun, tasteful affair. I mean … they ate pizzz, y’all. You gotta love how they’re keepin’ it real. I suspect that we’ll be hearing wedding plans soon … after all, Jess and Eric seem anxious to get themselves hitched as quickly as possible. Let’s just hope they at least hold off until the new year.
You knew it was coming

Shopping for Wedding Chapels already?
Welp … it looks like we now know where Prince William of Wales and his fiancée Kate Middleton will be married next year … last night, Kate was given private access to Westminster Abbey in order to scope out the famed church as the site of her royal marriage to Prince William. It should be noted that the funeral of Princess Diana, William‘s mother, was held at Westminster Abbey but I do not believe that has any bearing on the couple’s possible decision to be married there. Westminster Abbey is the most famous church in England, it makes perfect sense that Prince William will marry his princess-to-be within the church’s hallowed walls:
Prince William and Kate Middleton are to marry at Westminster Abbey, the Daily Mail can reveal. Our exclusive picture shows Kate, 28, paying a secret visit last night to the historic church that witnessed Princess Diana’s funeral. The bride-to-be emerged alongside William’s closest aides. The Abbey closed early to allow her to carry out the private visit. With the entourage of officials and security officers fussing around her, Miss Middleton was beginning to look every inch a member of the Royal Family. Her fiancée could not be with her because he was travelling back to his RAF base in North Wales. So yesterday the royal couple hammered out many of the details for the ceremony with senior courtiers. The photographs emerged as it became increasingly clear Prince Charles will foot the bill for the wedding reception and parts of the ceremony next year. It also became increasingly likely that the wedding will take place in March. Both date and venue are expected to be officially confirmed today or tomorrow once it has been cleared with the Queen. The decision to have the wedding at the Abbey shows that William has put aside painful memories of walking with his younger brother Harry behind the cortege of their mother, past vast crowds of weeping mourners and into the Abbey to say a final farewell to Diana in 1997. The building is steeped in the nation’s royal past. It has been the choice for Coronations since 1066 and is also the final resting place for 17 monarchs.
While it may sound kinda creepy that William will marry his wife in the same church where his late mother was memorialized, I think the overriding importance of the church to the Royal Family is what takes precedence. The long history of Westminster Abbey makes it really the only place Prince Wills and Kate can marry. Things are moving fast y’all … it hasn’t even been a week since news of the engagement came out and the site of the wedding has already been chosen. I’m sure it won’t be long before we start hearing about wedding dresses and guest lists. If the couple really will be married in March then there isn’t all that much time to plan a royal wedding. The happy day that Wills marries Kate will be here sooner than you may think.
"We had been talking about marriage for a while ..."
Yesterday morning the world awoke to the very happy news that Prince William of Wales and his longtime girlfriend Kate Middleton had gotten themselves engaged to be married and right now we get to hear from the happy couple themselves in their first joint television interview since announcing their engagement. Here is a screencap and some deets from the royal couple’s interview where they discuss how they got engaged and more!
Prince William said in a British television interview on ITV [Tuesday] afternoon that he “just decided it was the right time” to pop the question to Kate Middleton while “on holiday” in Kenya. “We’d been talking about marriage for a while so it wasn’t a massive surprise,” he said. “I had been planning it for a while. It really felt right in Africa. I had done some planning to show my romantic side.” Added Kate, “It was a total shock and very exciting.” Said William: “I was carrying the ring around for three weeks in a rucksack before that. And I literally would not let it go, wherever I went.” He added that having the engagement be made public finally is “a real relief.” Kate says the ring – which was Princess Diana’s engagement ring from Prince Charles – is “beautiful. I just hope I look after it. It’s very, very special.” When the interviewer told the couple they looked calm, William replied, “We’re like ducks. So calm on the surface, but little feet going crazy underwater.” Was it love at first sight? “When I first met Kate I knew there was something very special about her,” he said. “We went through a few stumbling blocks like any other relationship, but we picked ourselves up.” He added, “I’m obviously extremely funny and she loves that.” Kate chuckled at that. “When you go out with someone you go through the good times, the bad times, you can really learn things about yourself,” she said of their 8-year relationship. As for Wills taking his time, Kate said, “We’ve had our conversations.” “We were planning it for at least a year, if not longer,” said William. “Kate wasn’t in the dark.” He needed to finish his military training. “We both decided now was a really good time.” Is the Princess Diana legacy intimidating? “I would’ve loved to have met her,” said Kate. “She’s an inspirational person to look up to, this day and looking forward at things.” William noted, however, “It’s about carving her own future. No one’s trying to fill my mother’s shoes.”
GAHHHH! I can’t even stand how awesome this is! I really love that William was carrying around Diana‘s ring in his “rucksack” for weeks before he got up the courage to ask Kate to marry him … and what a gorgeous ring at that!
I mean, yeah, the couple have been together for 8 years and they may have discussed marriage along the way at some point but I *know* that that moment when William actually asked Kate to marry him, it was a huge exciting surprise for her. I really could NOT be happier for Wills and Kate. The day that many of us have dream for has finally come … and a royal wedding is close at hand. After the jump, check out video of William and Kate‘s first TV interview yesterday — it’s pretty cool, for some of you it will be the first time you’ll get to hear Kate Middleton actually speak … More »
Wills gives Kate his late mother's engagement ring
Earlier today we learned the exceedingly happy news that Prince William of Wales and his longtime girlfriend Kate Middleton have gotten themselves engaged to be married next year. Just a few hours ago, the prince and his princess-to-be met with and posed for the world press so that they could show off Kate‘s beautiful engagement ring. It turns out that William gave Kate his late mother Princess Diana‘s engagement ring, the very one that Prince Charles gave to her when they got engaged in the early 80′s:
Hours after news of their royal engagement broke, Prince William and bride-to-be Kate Middleton appeared for the first time as an engaged couple during a photo call at St. James’s Palace – and her ring was on view … Prince William has honored his late mother by giving his new fiancée Kate Middleton the engagement ring that Prince Charles once gave to Princess Diana. “It’s very special to me. As Kate’s very special to me now, it was right to put the two together,” William said as the newly-engaged couple faced the cameras for the first time today. The ring is an oval sapphire surrounded by diamonds. William proposed to Kate on a safari in Kenya in October, but he first asked her father for permission to propose. Michael Middleton said that he and his wife are “absolutely delighted” and “thrilled” by the engagement announcement. The wedding, which will take place in the spring or summer of 2011, is already being heralded as the biggest wedding since Charles and Diana’s.
I mean … I can’t even take it. Could this engagement be any more perfect? What an amazing gift for William to give Kate … I cannot even wrap my head around the fact that Kate is now wearing the very ring that Diana wore when she got engaged to Prince Charles:
The wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton will be such a huge event … in this day and age of immediate news, I can’t even imagine how big of a celebration it will be. Even tho we knew this day would some day come, the fact that the couple are now officially engaged to be married just makes the whole thing seem really real. This is all so exciting … I can’t wait to follow the preparations leading up to the big day which will FINALLY HAPPEN next year :D

Happy news to pass along today … the event that many of us have been talking about FOR YEARS has finally taken place. Prince William Arthur Philip Louis of Wales and his longtime ladylove Catherine Elizabeth Kate Middleton have FINALLY gotten themselves engaged to be married!!! I can’t even express how excited I am by this news. Ever since I started my blog back in 2004, I’ve been speculating, guessing, hoping, talking about the possibility that Prince Wills and Kate (who met in college back in 2001) might get married one day. And today … it finally happened … the British Royal Family have announced that Wills and Kate have gotten engaged to be man and wife:
The wait is over: Prince William and Kate Middleton, having been a couple on and off for eight years, are finally set to wed, they have announced. While no date has been revealed, it is thought the ceremony will be held in a few months and be the biggest since William’s mother, Diana, married Prince Charles. “Everyone is absolutely delighted. He has never had eyes for any other woman since Kate came on the scene,” says an old friend. “She is going to make a wonderful wife, a wonderful princess.” Both the future bride and groom are 28.
Apparently, Wills asked Kate to marry him last month … he even went thru the tradition of asking her father for her hand in marriage. You may recall that the photo of the couple featured above was snapped last month at a wedding of a friend of the couple … might that have been the catalyst for William to propose to Kate? Whatever the case may be, the couple are engaged and they will likely be married in the Spring of next year … how excited!! Here Comes the Bride-To-Be
Yesterday we learned the happy and somewhat surprising news that Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson — her *just divorced* boyfriend of about 6 months — have gotten themselves engaged to be married. Today, we get our first look at Jessica‘s sparkly new engagement bling which she happily showed off at an in-store appearance at a Dillard’s department store in Overland Park, KS over the weekend … behold:
Jessica Simpson showed off her brand new Neil Lane engagement ring at Dillard’s department store in Kansas City on Saturday as she was promoting her clothing line. Her boyfriend of five months, Eric Johnson, proposed to Simpson with a three-stone ring that features a central ruby flanked by two diamonds. “She was in a really good mood,” an eyewitness at the store tells PEOPLE. “She was very friendly and sweet. She signed autographs and seemed to have a great time.” Only a few weeks ago, the singer, 30, gushed about her beau, 31, to PEOPLE – but didn’t want to “jinx” their relationship. “He’s the one for me right now!” she said. “I’m very happy! I’m in a great place, and if right now could last forever, I’d take it.”
While I still think it’s a bit too soon for Jessica and Eric to be getting married (especially since he’s only been divorced from his wife for a couple of months and the couple have only been dating for half a year), I do wish them all the happiness and luck in the world! Every couple is different and if they feel ready for marriage then more power to them. I just hope, for Jessica‘s sake, that she is not rushing into anything too quickly … with her track record for heartbreak, I’d hate for her to have to endure another painful break-up. Let’s send the happy couple all the congrats in the world … and wish them a very happily ever after.
