Congratulations are in order for popstar/actress Hilary Duff and her hockey-playin’ beau Mike Comrie … according to new reports out today, the couple are engaged to be wed! After a couple years of dating, it appears that Hila-rie are finally ready to say I Do. They’re gettin’ hitched, y’all!!

Disney diva Hilary Duff has become the second hockey fiancée of the season, thanks to her engagement to Edmonton Oilers star Mike Comrie. A source close to the 22-year-old actress confirms to E! News that she got engaged to her boyfriend of more than two years while vacationing in Maui this week. Duff’s mom seemingly laughed off reports of her daughter’s engagement this week (just like the couple themselves did a year and a half ago), but we’re guessing that was before she caught a load of pictures seemingly catching the 29-year-old Comrie at his very moment of question popping. There’s no word yet on a wedding date for the happy couple. Congrats, you two!

Yes, much congrats to the happy couple!! It’s funny … I remember when Hilary Duff and Joel Madden were my fave Hollywood couple and now, here we are all these years later, and they’re both engaged to other people … it’s funny the way life works itself out. I hope you’ll join me in sending the warmest wishes and our heartiest congrats to Hilary and Mike! Congrats!!

Congratulations are in order for Nicole Richie and Joel Madden — parents of the very beautiful Harlow Winter Kate and Sparrow James Midnight — who have finally announced to the world that they are engaged to be wed!! Altho the couple have been secretly engaged for some time now, the couple have finally decided to share the happy news with the rest of the world. Nicole appeared as a guest on The Late Show with David Letterman in NYC last night and broke the news to Letterman and the world during her interview. Groom-to-be Joel confirmed the news on his official Twitter profile as well. Here are photos of the couple making their way thru the scrum of paparazzi in NYC last night and a close-up photo of Nicole‘s pimpin’ engagement bling:

They’ve been together for more than three years and have two children. Now, Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are planning to make it official. “Yep. i’m engaged. Very happy. Yeah we’ve been engaged for a while so your all kind of late on that. But Thanks for the hooplah all the same,” Madden Tweeted Monday night, after news of their plans to wed went wide. He also expressed thanks to relatives who did not let word of the engagement slip. He Tweeted: “P.S. thats why i love my family and friends. None of them are sources. All good tight lipped people who let us enjoy it! Thanks everybody” Richie said Monday night during a taping of the Late Show with David Letterman that the couple are engaged to be married, a source told PEOPLE. After the show, Richie headed to the New York restaurant Abe & Arthurs – without her fiancé – for dinner. “She was glowing,” says a source. “She was telling her table how happy she was.” Richie, 28, and Madden, 30, began dating in December 2006 and have daughter Harlow, 2, and son Sparrow, 5 months.

I am THRILLED that Nic/Joel finally decided to let the world in on their happy news. I’m pretty sure many folks got very suspicious that the couple were planning a wedding when Nicole was spotted paying a visit to a Monique L’Huillier boutique here in SoCal a few weeks ago … L’Huillier is famous for her beautiful wedding dresses, after all ;) But … the word is FINALLY out … and we can all send the happy couple our warmest wishes and our most heartfelt congratulations!!!

Kristen Bell & Dax Shepard Are Engaged!

Congratulations are in order for Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard who, we are learning today, are engaged to be married! The couple have been dating since 2008 and when last we saw them, they were making quite a show of thier lurve (and their anger) at Disneyland here in SoCal … US Weekly reports that Dax propped the question over the holidays and the couple managed to keep it a secret until now (it turns out that Kristen was wearing her engagement ring on the Grammy Awards red carpet last night). BellDax is gettin’ hitched, y’all!

Kristen Bell is engaged to Dax Shepard, her rep confirms to UsMagazine.com exclusively. Shepard, 35, proposed over the holidays, a source tells Us. Bell, 29, debuted her ring on the red carpet of the Grammys Sunday night. The couple first stepped out publicly in January 2008. Bell detailed her perfect date night with Shepard in the November issue of Women’s Health. “There is almost nothing, barring a natural disaster, that I would let eat into my time at home, playing Scrabble with Dax or talking to my girlfriends,” she said. She joked that they were competitive while filming romantic comedy When in Rome, currently in theaters. “We were trying to one-up each other,” she said. “That’s what we do at home, too. It’s like, ‘Wait – watch me do this funny bit.’ ‘No, watch me do this funny bit!.” The secret to their relationship? “I’ve learned the necessity for healthy communication. How important it is to talk about your deepest, darkest fears and feelings,” she says. “Your partner should hear your most embarrassing insecurities, because once you say them out loud, you’ve created a safe zone.” And “a snuggle party can fix anything — it’s true,” she added.

Yeah, I don’t know what to say about this. I was perplexed when the couple coupled up back in 2008 and I’m still perplexed by this news … but love is love and I couldn’t be happier that these two have found it with one another. I’m pretty sure the couple met while making this When In Rome movie together and I’m usually weary of workplace romances like this but, again, I wish them all the happiness in the world for a long and very happy life together! No word on when the couple will be saying their I Dos but considering how much they value their privacy, we may not find out about their wedding until it’s already a done deal.

There are reports going around today that Drew Barrymore and Justin Long have gotten engaged to be wed. After splitting in July of 2008, the couple reunited around March of 2009 … and have been going strong ever since. Today we are hearing that an update on Drew‘s Facebook profile has sparked news of this supposed engagement — behold:

Looks like little Miss Barrymore just updated her status page! OMG! YAY! And congratulations! What a whirlwind this month must be for her! First the awards, and now the cutest boy in the world!

Yes, as you may recall, Drew picked up awards at both the Golden Globe Awards and the Screen Actors Guild Awards earlier this month … and if this new rumor is to be believed, she’s about to pick up a new hubby, too. While this news sounds great, I’m gonna hold off on totally believing this news until we hear something more official. For now, I’ll offer a cautious congrats to the happy couple. It would be totally fab if Drew and Justin did tie the knot :)

Marilyn Manson & Evan Rachel Wood Are Gettin’ Hitched!

In early December we learned from Marilyn Manson himself that he and former fiancee Evan Rachel Wood were officially back together and today we are hearing from People magazine that the couple are, once again, engaged to be wed … henceforth, congratulations are in order. MM and ERW are gettin’ hitched, y’all!

Marilyn Manson and Evan Rachel Wood are engaged, a source confirms to PEOPLE. The shock-rocker reportedly proposed to the True Blood actress while he was performing on stage in Paris on Monday, according to reports. Rumors have been swirling for days about the famously on-again, off-again couple’s engagement. Reps for both Manson and Wood have remained mum on the subject. Manson, 41, began dating Wood, 22, in 2006 but the couple broke up in 2008. They briefly reconciled, then split again before getting back together. Last year, Manson revealed that he was so devastated over his breakup with Wood that he obsessed about the actress and called her incessantly. After they worked things out, Manson was quoted by the Herald Sun as saying that Wood has helped him be a better person. “Me being me at my best is what I need to be,” he said at the time. “That really paid off because I’m back with Evan.” Wood, for her part, described Mason to Elle magazine in 2007 as a “lovely, really human and just amazing. It may surprise you just how healthy and loving our relationship is.”

For the life of me, I never understood what it was about these two that worked but it seems fairly evident that they were meant to be. Considering the ups and downs their relationship has endured and the fact that they always seem to find their way back to one another seems proof enough to me that they are truly in lurve. I can’t blame MM for wanting to lock ERW down as his wife, she’s the best thing to come along since his ex-wife Dita Von Teese. ERW must just love her some Marilyn Manson, I guess. Here’s hoping they really make it this time … I’d hate for us to have to go thru another messy break-up then make-up then break-up situation again.

Carrie Underwood Confirms Engagement, Shows Off Engagement Bling

Yesterday we learned the fab news that singer Carrie Underwood and hockey player Mike Fisher got themselves engaged to be married but at the time there was no official confirmation of the engagement from either Carrie or Mike … until now. Carrie‘s people have released the following official statement on the upcoming nuptials:

“I’m happy to confirm that Carrie Underwood is engaged to Mike Fisher, and the couple couldn’t be happier. No wedding date has been set at this time.”

Mike, himself, confirmed the news last night saying:

“It’s true. We’re both obviously excited and very happy.”

And, as if that wasn’t enough confirmation, Carrie showed off her fat engagement rock at the Ottawa Senators hockey game vs. the Boston Bruins in Ottawa, Canada last night:


Carrie Underwood is engaged to Ottawa Senators hockey player Mike Fisher, her publicist said Monday. Underwood wore an eye-catching engagement ring as she sat in Ottawa owner Eugene Melnyk’s luxury box while watching Fisher and the Senators play Monday night. The 29-year-old Fisher told reporters “it’s an exciting time” before the game with the Boston Bruins and the engagement got plenty of attention. “It’s obviously an exciting time for them and we’re all very happy for both of them,” veteran Senators defenseman Chris Phillips said. “It’s probably going to be a little more hyped than what there was but they’ve been dating for a while now so it’s nothing that’s been a big secret.” No wedding date has been set for the couple, who have been dating for about a year … Asked by The Associated Press last month what Underwood’s family thought of Fisher, the 26-year-old singer said they were supportive. “They love me and I would hope my parents would think we raised a good, smart girl, so she’s going to do the right thing no matter what it is,” she said. Days before the CMA Awards in early November, Underwood did not know whether she would be spending the holidays with Fisher. “Christmas, I don’t know. We haven’t really thought that far ahead. We kind of take it one week at a time,” she said then. Underwood has kept her relationship largely under wraps, but she gave Fisher a very public shout-out in the liner notes of her current album, “Play On,” that was released Nov. 3. She wrote, “Thank you (No.) 12 (referring to his jersey number.) You are the most amazing addition to my life! You are such a wonderful person and have had such an amazing hand in the building of this album and in the growth of me as a person. I love you so much! You make my life better in every way!”

Yeah, I think it’s safe to assume that Carrie and Mike will be spending the holidays together after all. I’m so happy for them … I don’t know much about Mike but Carrie is a total sweetheart and I just love her to death. Considering how quickly the couple got engaged (just about a year after they started dating) I would imagine they will be gettin’ hitched fairly soon. My guess is that they’ll be celebrating this Xmas as betrotheds, next year they’ll be celebrating as husband and wife.

It appears that congratulations are in order for singer/American Idol winner Carrie Underwood and NHL player Mike Fisher who apparently got engaged over the weekend!


Mike Fisher and Carrie Underwood are engaged to be married, a source has confirmed this morning. The blogosphere has been alive and buzzing since Sunday with rumours the celebrity couple have become engaged. The rumours began spreading after a friend of Underwood’s family congratulated the former American Idol and the Senators centre on their upcoming marriage on his Twitter page last night. This morning, a source close to the couple confirmed to the Ottawa Sun that Fisher popped the question and Underwood has accepted the proposal. Underwood, who makes her home in Nashville, was in Ottawa through the weekend and was on hand for the club’s 4-1 victory over the Minnesota Wild Saturday at Scotiabank Place. It’s not known if she will also be at tonight’s game against the Boston Bruins. Neither Underwood nor Fisher has made any public confirmation as yet. The couple has been dating for approximately a year. They have kept their relationship largely out of the media — quite an accomplishment for one of Nashville’s hottest stars and one of the NHL’s most eligible bachelors — but had recently begun speaking in public about their love affair.

News of the upcoming nuptials were first announced on Twitter by Fisher‘s best friend Colin Peters:


But it now looks like Peters jumped the gun on spreading the news because not only has this congratulatory tweet been deleted but Colin Peter‘s Twitter profile has been deleted as well! Whoops! The couple have been very private about their relationship so it may take some time for them to confirm this engagement. Chelsea Clinton & Marc Mezvinsky Are Gettin’ Hitched!

Happy news for the Clinton family today … word is finally out that Chelsea Clinton, the only begotten child of President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, has announced her engagement to long time boyfriend Marc Mezvinsky. The couple, who have been together for AGES now (like 10 years or something crazy like that), made news of their engagement public via mass email to family and friends over Thanksgiving. Here is the full text of the couple’s email engagement announcement:


“We’re sorry for the mass email but we wanted to wish everyone a belated Happy Thanksgiving! We also wanted to share that we are engaged! We didn’t get married this past summer despite the stories to the contrary, but we are looking toward next summer and hope you all will be there to celebrate with us. Happy Holidays! Chelsea & Marc.”

As you may or may not know, Chelsea works at a Manhattan hedge fund and Marc is a banker, both are alumni of Stanford University and neither show any interest in holding political office (at least, not yet anyways). On paper they sound like the perfect couple but the fact that they have been together for so long leads me to believe that they truly are perfect for one another. Let’s send our warmest wishes and heartiest congratulations to the happy couple!!

Robbie Williams & Ayda Field Are NOT Gettin’ Hitched!

Yesterday we learned from NME that Robbie Williams‘s mother Jan spilled the news that Robbie and his girlfriend Ayda Field got themselves engaged to be wed. While I thought the news was good, I wasn’t entirely sure I believed it … turns out my instincts were correct because shortly after the story began to spread, Robbie posted a message on his official website that it was all a joke — he and Ayda are NOT engaged to be married:


Robbie Williams has denied he is engaged to girlfriend Ayda Field. In a blog post on Robbiewilliams.com titled ‘Robbie And Ayda: Are They Or Aren’t They?’, Williams addressed the recent speculation around his supposed engagement, and said simply:

“Hey all. We are not engaged. Rob x”

The news comes a day after Williams’ mother Jan told BBC Radio 5 live that the singer and Field were definitely engaged. “I’ve got a daughter-in-law, I’ve always wanted a daughter-in-law!” she told the station, adding that Williams had told her a week ago that he was planning to propose. Rumours that Williams and Field were engaged spread initially after the singer appeared to propose to her live on an Australian radio show early yesterday morning (November 27). However, Williams’ spokesperson later explained that he had only been joking during the show.

HMMM … I think this is the part where we are supposed to laugh. Go ahead … I’ll wait. Yeah, so funny, huh?

Robbie Williams & Ayda Field Are Gettin’ Hitched!

NME is reporting today that according to Jan Williams, mother of UK popstar Robbie Williams, Robbie and his his US girlfriend Ayda Field have gotten engaged to be wed … and that the nuptials will prolly take place very soon. Now, take this news with a grain of salt but … considering that the info is coming from Robbie‘s mother, well, it might actually turn out to be true:


Robbie Williams’ mum Jan has confirmed that he has proposed to his US actress partner Ayda Field. Williams and Field were rumoured to be tying the knot after they spoke about it on Australian radio station 2Day FM earlier today (November 27), although the singer’s management stressed that they had been joking during the conversation. However, Jan Williams has now confirmed that the couple – who have been together for three years – are to wed. She told BBC Radio 5 live that Williams told her he was planning to propose about a week ago. “He’s wanted to do something different and she’s a lovely girl and I’m really pleased for them,” Jan Williams explained, adding: “I’ve got a daughter-in-law, I’ve always wanted a daughter-in-law!” She didn’t confirm whether the couple’s on-air conversation was the actual proposal or whether Williams had previously asked Field to marry him in private. Speaking about when she thought the couple would marry, Williams admitted a ceremony could take place sooner rather than later. “I don’t think it will be that far in the too-distant future, but that’s all I’m going to say on that,” she explained. Williams added that her son has already chosen a ring for Field.

The only thing that keeps me from totally believing this engagement report is the fact that Robbie Williams is a NOTORIOUS joker … it’s really hard to believe almost anything he says cuz he mostly speaks in jest, especially in interviews. That said, if Mama Williams is blabbin’ the news, it’s possible that she may know what she’s talking about. I’m gonna wait for official confirmation from the couple that they are gettin’ wed before I rush out to buy a wedding gift but … I’m willing extend cautious congratulations to the happy couple right now :)
