A XXX Tribute To ‘Saved By The Bell’

Dear sweet Jebus, why???
Thursday, August 13th, 2009

Just when you thought the Saved By The Bell reunion for People magazine was the total bee’s knees comes even MORE awesome SBTB news. Hustler has announced that they have just wrapped production on a pornographic movie called This Ain’t Saved By The Bell XXX which features XXX actors portraying characters from the teen TV series engaged in, well, sexual relations. Doesn’t that sound fun?

It’s official, we’ve wrapped This Ain’t Saved by the Bell XXX. The neon Day-Glo sets are empty and the acid-washed jeans are history as we move into post production on this ultimate parody tribute to ’90s cheesy television. Cast with some of porn’s hottest rising stars and some fresh new faces, TASBTB (as it’s known in inner circles) pays homage to the hugely popular TV show that capitalized on the many issues that teens face. All bases are covered in this parody, as the gang from Bayside High finally take advantage of being 18 and going all the way! This Ain’t Saved by the Bell XXX stars Missy Stone, Ashlyn Rae, Misty Stone, Ally Ann, Nicole Ray, April O’Neal, Eric John, Ralph Long, Mikey Butders and Scott Stone as Mr. Hijinx himself, Zack Morris. This Ain’t Saved by the Bell XXX is scheduled to be released October 6, 2009.

LOL! I never really thought about the possibility of a Bayside High gang bang but I guess we’re gonna get one anyways. No word on how the characters will be paired up but do you suppose Zach Morris and A.C. Slater will be gettin’ it on in some capacity? I mean … they got to, right? You just *know* they’re gonna make the girl characters get it on. I’m not sure if this particular pornographic film is the kind of thing any of y’all might be interested in but you might want to keep this in mind for that special person on your gift-giving list that is hard to shop for. A creepy uncle or your mailman, perhaps? After hearing about how Playboy magazine is going all PG-13 these days, it’s comforting to know that Hustler is keepin’ it real and bringing the hardcore porn … just the way we like it.

‘Voltaïc’ Eruption In LA

The TV Guide
Wednesday, June 24th, 2009

Last night I was able to attend the LA screening of Björk’s new concert film Voltaïc: The Volta Tour which will be included in her new boxset Voltaïc which was released this Tuesday. The screening was held at the Montleban Theater at Sunset and Vine:

I was very surprised to see so many people came out for the screening … tho, I guess I shouldn’t've been … Björk is much beloved. Seeing the concert DVD on the big screen totally made me feel like I was at the concert. It was really a very cool event. I am absolutely picking up a copy of this amazing box set as soon as I can.

After the screening, Ollie, Caleb and I grabbed a late night snack at kitchen 24:

I love these two so much … they are truly a couple of my fave people ever. We had so much fun.

Tonight, David and I are going out to see Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Despite all the bad reviews, I’m willing to keep an open mind. It doesn’t have to be fantastic but I just don’t want it to suck.

A ‘Surprise’ From The ‘Britney: For The Record’ DVD

"I'm really not interested in pity ... what I could use is some understanding"
Wednesday, April 8th, 2009

Last November MTV aired the documentary Britney: For The Record which took viewers behind the scenes of the life of Britney Spears and gave fans a taste of what it’s like to live her life. Britney: For The Record was released on DVD yesterday (as was reported earlier this year) and includes a few bonus scenes that were no included in the original airing of the doc … new scenes that provide even more enlightening of Britney’s sometimes frantic life:

So as not to spoil the “surprise” in this clip, I shant go into what is really going on in this vid … but I will say that it is a very sweet and very poignant moment in Britney’s rehabilitation that might move you just a little. While the surprise is really fun, my fave part of the clip is her confusion for the first half of the video. After the jump, check out the bonus clip titled Day 57: A Surprise from Britney: For The Record in full …

Lindsay Lohan’s Film ‘Labor Pains’ Goes Straight To DVD

Bypassing theaters, it makes a pit stop on ABC Family along the way
Thursday, March 26th, 2009

Some of you may recall that we saw many photos of Lindsay Lohan workin’ hard on the SoCal set of the film Labor Pains last Summer and it was assumed that the film would be hitting movie theaters some time this year. It turns out that that isn’t the case. It has been determined by the powers that be that Labor Pains not be shown in theaters here in the US and will, instead, be going straight to DVD … well, not exactly straight to DVD, it will first air on the basic cable network ABC Family before it hits store shelves … so that’s something, right?

Fans waiting to see Lindsay Lohan’s latest movie won’t have to leave their living rooms. Lindsay’s new film, “Labor Pains,” will not be released in theaters, Access Hollywood has learned. Instead, the comedy will premiere on ABC Family, a source for the film’s production company, Nu Image/Millennium Films, confirmed to Access. The movie will debut on the cable channel in July 2009, with a DVD release coming in August. In the film, which wrapped production in August 2008, Lindsay plays a woman who fakes being pregnant to save herself from being fired and is then forced to keep the lie going for nine months. However, the source did say the movie would hit theaters internationally. No release date was available. Lindsay was last seen on the big screen in “Chapter 27,” opposite Jared Leto. Her other recent film credits include “Georgia Rule,” “I Know Who Killed Me” and “A Prairie Home Companion.” She has reportedly lined up a new as-of-yet untitled romantic comedy, alongside Nick Cannon about a girl trying to make it in New York’s fashion world who gets set up on a date with a guy who is blind.

HMMM … it never bodes well when a production company decides to cut its losses and scrap plans of a theatrical release for a cable/DVD release … do you suppose the change has anything to do with the quality of the film? Nah, can’t be. I gotta say, tho, that the concept of her movie with Nick Cannon (where Lindsay’s character goes on an actual blind date) sounds pretty terrible, too. Might that one be headed for the USA network? Only time will tell, only time will tell.

The ‘Charmed’ Ones

The TV Guide
Friday, March 13th, 2009

So, life’s been pretty quiet around here these days … with the arrival of our new bed, our home life has become much more settled now that our furniture needs have pretty much been met. Last night, our big fun was laundry over take-out sushi … not exciting but, still fun. Since I’ll be leaving for Austin, TX next Tuesday night for SXSW, I want to spend as much alone “boring” time at home with David as I can, while I can. But I did happen to procure a fun new addition to my DVD collection that I have to share with all y’all. A couple of months ago, a deluxe DVD box set of the entire Charmed series was released in a huge set that looks exactly like the Book of Shadows spellbook that was used in the series … thanks to a 40% off coupon from Borders, it finally became affordable enough for me to buy it:

I don’t know if any of you Charmed fans have seen this bad boy in stores or not but it’s pretty amazing. It’s about the size of the Book of Shadows that was featured in the series and even has much of the art/spells that we saw on the show. It’s really a very cool set. I’m a pretty big Charmed fan … it’s my fave series that Shannen Doherty was a part of (yes, even more than Beverly Hills, 90210 and Our House) and it’s been ages since I’ve watched the series. I am very much looking forward to re-watching the entire series from the beginning thanks to this new set. It’s pretty expensive but if you can find a 40% off coupon (like the one that Borders emailed out this week) then I think it lowers the cost significantly enough to make it worth buying.

This afternoon I’m getting a haircut and then David’s friend Kurt arrives for the weekend. Should be fun. Happy weekend, y’all!

Another Sarah Michelle Gellar Film Goes Straight To DVD

Do you see a pattern emerging?
Friday, March 6th, 2009

Alas … it appears that Sarah Michelle Gellar’s constant attempts to make it as a big name movie star continue to fall short of her intended goal. SMG’s new film Possession, which was to be released in theaters has been demoted to a straight-to-DVD release hitting stores on May 12:

20th Century Fox Home Entertainment has announced that they will bring the Sarah Michelle Gellar film ‘Possession’ to Blu-ray on May 12th, day-and-date with the DVD release. Technical specs have yet to be announced at this time, though you can expect the typical 1080p AVC and DTS-HD Master Audio treatment from the studio. Special features have also yet to be announced at this time, but we expect to hear more soon.

Sad. It’s such a shame that SMG decided to end Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s TV run because she wanted to make movies … and this is what’s become of her movie career. I don’t know why but she seems to keep making the same shitty horror film over and over over again. First there was The Grudge, then The Grudge 2, then The Return, then Possession … it’s like her movie career is stuck on repeat. Here’s hoping her other film scheduled for a theatrical release, Veronika Decides to Die, makes it to the big screen. You know … a bet a big screen adaptation of Buffy the Vampire Slayer (well another one with 100% less Luke Perry) would deffo make it to theaters. I’m just sayin’.

‘Britney: For The Record’ Is Comin’ To DVD

DVD + CD combo hits stores on April 7th
Thursday, February 26th, 2009

Great news, friends of BritneyBritneySpears.com has been updated with the brief news that Britney’s documentary Britney: For The Record, which aired on MTV here in the US last November, is going to be released on DVD in April. Here is our first look at the artwork for this new DVD:

Britney: For the Record will be released in the US on April 7th! The DVD includes some never before seen footage as well as six bonus MP3 remixes of ‘Circus’ and ‘Womanizer.’

While I am a bit intrigued by the notion of “never before seen footage”, I don’t necessarily think that I really need to own this DVD. However, I am very interested in the bonus CD with 6 remixes of Womanizer and Circus … so I may be ponying up for this disc after all. I suppose it was to be expected that this documentary, which many people felt didn’t delve deep enough into Britney’s troubled past, would be released on DVD. I’m sure all the Britney Spears completists will be clamoring for their DVDs come April 7. Will YOU be among the throngs of fans lining up to buy this DVD?
