A Federal Judge Rules That Virginia’s Ban On Same-Sex Marriage Is Unconstitutional

The 20th State

Last night Virginia became the 20th state to enjoy marriage equality when a federal judge ruled that the state’s ban on same-sex marriage is unconstitutional. As you may recall, we learned last month that a judge overturned Oklahoma’s ban on same-sex marriage and in December a judge overturned Utah’s ban on same-sex marriage. Now, folks can’t just run out and get married in Virginia just yet because the judge stayed his ruling pending an appeal … but as you can clearly see, the unstoppable tide of marriage equality in this country is moving us FORWARD toward the eventual day when all US citizens will be free to enjoy marriage equality in all 50 states! Over the course of the entire 13 seasons of American Idol, there has never been an openly gay contestant on the show … until now. While there have been numerous gay people to gain fame after they appeared on Idol (like Adam Lambert, like Clay Aiken) and there have been countless closeted gay contestants who have appeared on the show, there has never been an out gay contestant in the running for the title of American Idol before now. Pascal Tessier Becomes The First Openly Gay Eagle Scout

The Highest Honor of the Boy Scouts of America

In May of last year, the Boy Scouts of America voted to allow openly gay members to join/be a part of their organization and on January 1, the restriction banning gay members was lifted. Today we learn that 17 year old Pascal Tessier has just become the first openly gay Eagle Scout in the history of the Boy Scouts of America. Now, keep in mind, there have been countless Boy Scouts who are gay and countless gay Eagle Scouts but Tessier is the first gay Eagle Scout to be officially sanctioned by the BSA. And, as happy as this news is … the BSA‘s policy to ban gay adults in their organization has tarnished Tessier‘s story because when he turns 18, they could boot him out of the Boy Scouts of America. Ugh. More »

Sage Kotsenburg Wins The First US Gold Medal At The Sochi 2014 Olympic Games

The slopestyle snowboarder does America proud

Snowboarder Sage Kotsenberg became the first US athlete to win a Gold Medal at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Games by busting out a move he had never done before in the slopestyle snowboarding competition. With Kotzenburg‘s gold, the US is off and running toward a hopeful domination of the Olympic medal count and, more specifically, the Gold Medal count. As you are likely well aware, the Olympic Winter Games got started Thursday ahead of the Opening Ceremonies that took place inside Fisht Olympic Stadium last night. Except for one fairly noticeable techinical glitch, the rest of the ceremonies seemed to go off without a hitch. Click below to learn about Sage winning the first US Gold Medal of these Sochi Games and see a few photos from the Opening Ceremonies spectacle that took place in Sochi last night. More »

Thankfully, Bravo has shared the video so that we can watch video of Daniel Cunningham and Ricardo Santiago gettin’ hitched right here, right now … and as many times as we like to our hearts’ content.
