Very sadly the time has come for David and me to say goodbye to the beautiful island of Maui, HI. Because we have to be on a plane in a few hours (and it’s only 7AM here right now), I will only have time to share with you some of the photos I snapped yesterday at our dear friends Marissa and Ryan‘s GORGEOUS wedding ceremony. David, who was in the bridal party, got to spend the entire day with Marissa as she got ready to say I Do and he managed to snap a few fun photos from her bridal suite as she got ready:


As beautiful as these photos of Marissa‘s Carolina Herrera dress and bejeweled Christian Louboutin shoes are, they really do not do these beautiful pieces justice. To be honest, the dress and the shoes did not really come alive until Marissa was wearing them. As for the wedding ceremony, it was honestly THE most beautiful thing I have ever seen. Are Neil Patrick Harris & David Burtka Expecting Twins? (UPDATE)

E! News is reporting that longtime couple Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka are expecting the birth of twin babies by way of surrogate this October. According to the site, the supposed daddies to be have already began planning the impending baby shower! Altho this report has not been confirmed by the couple, I can’t help but be excited by the notion of NPH and David becoming new parents together:

E! News has exclusively learned that the ubiquitous actor and his longtime partner, David Burtka, are going to become the parents of twins, via a beautiful surrogate, this October. At least the dads are allowed to celebrate with a champagne toast! A source tells E! that the happy couple have put baby shower plans in motion, as if Harris’ chance of winning three Emmys this month wasn’t already enough to celebrate! Burtka, a chef and actor who has guest-starred on How I Met Your Mother, was just seen with his multitalented beau last weekend after Harris directed a production of Rent at the Hollywood Bowl.

Now before we bust out the champagne and offer our official congratulations, let me remind you that Star magazine reported last year that the couple were planning to start a family together. Either that report was flat out wrong or Neil and David decided to push back their baby making for a year. I think I will hold off on getting too excited about this baby news until we hear something more substantial from either “dad-to-be” … still … how amazing will it be to see these two guys pushing a double baby stroller together?

UPDATE: Shortly after I posted this story, Neil Patrick Harris confirmed this report with a post on his official Twitter profile … here is what he tweeted just moments ago:

So, get this: David and I are expecting twins this fall. We’re super excited/nervous/thrilled. Hoping the press can respect our privacy…

Yay!! So the news is true!! Now it’s time to pop the champagne! NPH and David are going to make fabulous parents! I am so thrilled for them both!!

‘Britney For Candie’s: The Limited Edition Collection’ Has Been A Huge Success

Congratulations are in order for our dear Britney Spears and her first-ever clothing line called Britney for Candie’s because early indications are that the line is selling very well, especially in the sea of other celebrity-branded clothing lines. When compared to clothing lines put out by Miley Cyrus, Lindsay Lohan and even Madonna, Britney for Candie’s is one of the huge successes:

Britney Spears, once merely “the face” of Candies, is designer and inspiration for the new Britney for Candies line introduced in July and sold exclusively at Kohl’s. The tweens-and-up collection of sassy separates and dresses ranging from $14 to $78 is reportedly flying off the racks. Brit has a hit. According to Lainie List, the executive vice president of merchandising for the Iconix Brand Group, which owns the brand, the collection mirrors the pop star’s own personal style. “She’s not always done up,” says List, adding that customers are particularly responding to “clothes we see her wear a lot,” such as a super-short dress over leggings or tights, short shorts and a top of layered ruffles. “There’s a California chic girliness that she’s known for,” List says. As for sales? “Fantastic.”

The article that continues HERE goes on to talk about the other fashion lines but I’m most interested in this bit about Britney‘s success. I’m constantly wowed and impressed by the new feats that our dear Britney Spears achieves. The girl has worked so hard for so many years that not even her personal failings can keep her down for long … the immense love her fans have for her have kept her afloat long enough thru the darkest times in her life that she has managed to come out for the better on the other side. Britney puts out a single, it goes straight to number one. Britney goes on tour, it immediately sells out … forces new tourdates to be added. Britney puts out a clothing line, it flies off the shelves. Despite all the negativity from haters, Britney continues to succeed. I cannot wait for her to move on to her next endeavor (hopefully, a new album). There is still much success to be enjoyed by Ms. Britney Spears.

Alanis Morissette Is Pregs!

Congratulations are in order for Alanis Morissette and her new hubby Mario Souleye Treadway (who, as you may recall, got hitched back in May) because Alanis reveals in the new issue of US Weekly that she is pregs with her first child! Alanis filled out a questionarire for the magazine and listed her pregnancy as one of the “Things You Don’t Know About Me”:

[Alanis Morissette], 36, announces the happy news in the new Us Weekly, on newsstands now. In Us’ “25 Things You Don’t Know About Me” section, Morissette lists “I am pregnant!” as No. 25. Morissette wed rapper Souleye, 30 (real name: Mario Treadway), this past May 22 at their Los Angeles home. “We’re very excited to embark on this journey with each other,” she wrote on her Twitter page at the time.

Yay!! This is the best news. I love Alanis, from way back in the day, and have always wished nothing but the happiest wishes for her. I was absolutely crushed when her longtime engagement to Ryan Reynolds fell apart (so that he could marry Scarlett Johansson) but I’ve never seen her as happy as when she was with her new hubby Souleye. News of this pregnancy is just so exciting! I know Alanis will be an amazing mother. I can’t wait for the Bump Watch to begin! Congrats Alanis and Souleye on the coming birth of your baby … Woot!

Emma Thompson Gets A Star On The Hollywood Walk Of Fame

Veteran actress Emma Thompson, whose new film Nannie McPhee Returns opens in theaters this Friday, was honored with her very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame last week. Emma received the 2,416th star which was placed right in front of the Pig & Whistle Pub on Hollwood Blvd., a placement that thrilled her to no end:

“I’m right outside a pub, which couldn’t be better because I love pubs and I love drinking. Not something that you can easily admit to in Los Angeles because no one drinks here and they’re very puritanical about it, which I don’t approve of because it’s a very spiritual activity,” the Academy-award winner joked. Fellow British actor Hugh Laurie was on hand to help honour his friend, although he revealed slightly more than Emma may have liked. “We actually stepped out briefly together as teenagers, until she dumped me for a mime artist,” he said. Emma’s Nanny McPhee co-star Maggie Gyllenhaal also posed for pictures when the star was unveiled on Friday.

Despite this latest honor recognizing her body of acting work, Thompson also revealed at her Walk of Fame ceremony that she plans to celebrate this latest achievement by taking a bit of a break from acting:

“Next year, I’m going to take a sabbatical. I’m not going to fund raise or perform or travel, except in pursuit of new vistas with my family. I’ve been meaning to do this for a long, long time, but it’s been like putting the brakes on a large ship because there is so much going on.” And she admits her longtime battle with “mild depression” has contributed to her decision to take an extended vacation. Thompson says, “I find the job I do emotionally very demanding. “I suffer from occasional mild depression, which I think is a very common thing… and it’s a very much hidden thing people don’t talk about. I think it should be discussed.”

Wow. I had no idea that she suffered from depression but it sounds like she’s got the right plan to take care of herself better so that her affliction can be better controlled. Emma Thompson is one of those actresses who is always a delight to see on screen when she pops up here and there. The folks who dole out the stars on the Walk of Fame don’t always get it right when they select honorees … but they deffo got it right by honoring Emma Thompson!

Robbie Williams & Ayda Field Got Hitched!

Congratulations are in order for British pop star Robbie Williams and the woman he credits with saving his life, his long-time love Ayda Field … because yesterday in a fairly intimate ceremony held at their mansion here in LA the couple got themselves married!! That’s right, the notorious playboy pop star finally settled down with the woman of his dreams. Robbie and Ayda got hitched, y’all!

She is the woman Robbie Williams credits with helping him conquer his well-publicised demons and ‘learn to love again’. And last night, the superstar singer reportedly confirmed his commitment to long-term girlfriend Ayda Field – who he playfully calls his ‘Swiss Army Knife’ – as they were married in an intimate ceremony in front of a handful of family and friends at his £13 million Beverly Hills mansion. Williams, 36, was so insistent on keeping the wedding venue secret that even the couple’s closest friends were uncertain of the details. In fact – there has still been no confirmation for the star’s spokespeople that the marriage has definitely went ahead, resulting is some very different reports today. While US magazine People has printed a quote from a source saying the wedding did go ahead and that it was ‘very beautiful and romantic’, The Sun claims the wedding is not actually going ahead until tomorrow. The Mirror has reported the wedding did go ahead and the celebrations were to a great extent organised by Williams’s mother. The newspaper has also claimed alcohol was banned throughout the celebrations. A friend of 31-year-old actress Ayda said: ‘The ‘save the date’ cards that went out two weeks ago only said it was a party to celebrate Robbie’s 20 years in showbusiness. ‘It was only in the last few days that news leaked out that it was going to be a wedding. Robbie is the happiest I have ever seen him. He says that until Ayda came along he didn’t know what it was like to be truly happy. He credits her with teaching him how to learn to laugh and love again.’

So much secrecy … sounds kinda unnecessary. I can appreciate that Robbie wanted to keep his wedding as quiet as possible so as not to draw too much attention but he’s not really well known here in the US at all … but he is an international pop star and, as is clearly evident, the interested media showed up to report on his nuptials none the less. Amy Poehler Gives Birth To Her Second Child

Congratulations are in order for Saturday Night Live alums Amy Poehler and Will Arnett because they are the proud parents of a second baby boy! Earlier today, Amy gave birth to a second son the couple have named Abel James! Woot!

Baby makes four for Amy Poehler and Will Arnett’s growing family. The Parks and Recreation star, 38, gave birth to the couple’s second son Friday morning, her rep tells PEOPLE. Abel James Arnett weighed 7 lbs., 13 oz., and joins older brother Archie, who was born in October 2008. “Amy, Will, Abel and Archie are all healthy and resting comfortably,” says the rep.

First came Archie, now comes Abel … how adorable is that? Let’s send our warmest congrats and all our love to Amy and Will on the birth of their second child!

Alicia Keys & Swizz Beatz Got Hitched!

Yesterday we read all about and got to see photos from former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton‘s wedding ceremony with longtime boyfriend/fiancée Marc Mezvinski but it turns out that there was another celebrity wedding that took place over the weekend as well. Singer/songwriter Alicia Keys was wed to her babydaddy Swizz Beatz (née Kasseem Dean) in a simple yet elegant ceremony at a private home in the Mediterranean Sea. They got hitched, y’all!

There was no yacht or over-the-top festivities – just family and close friends as Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz tied the knot in a private ceremony Saturday in a private home on the Mediterranean Sea. The bride wore a Grecian-inspired Vera Wang dress and carried a bouquet of purple calla lilies. The groom was decked out in a Tom Ford tuxedo. The couple’s friend Dr. Deepak Chopra presided over the nuptials. The couple, who are also expecting their first child together, have been together since fall 2008. They announced their engagement and baby news in May. It’s the first marriage for Keys, 29, and the couple’s first child together. While the newlyweds don’t know the gender of their baby, Beatz (real name: Kasseem Dean, 31) says the addition of a child will be nothing short of magical. “Whatever we’re blessed with, that baby is being born to blessed parents,” he recently told PEOPLE. “Alicia is definitely one of those great parents-to-be. She’s super ready. Super glowing. Super happy.”

Awww … I’m so glad the couple managed to pull off their wedding without there having to be too much media-attention and hoopla. We’ve been watching Alicia‘s baby bump grow over the past few months so it’s nice to see that she managed to get herself hitched before her baby girl OR boy came along. Much love and congrats goes out to the happy couple … let’s send Alicia and Swizz all our warmest wishes for a happily ever after!

Chelsea Clinton & Marc Mezvinsky Got Hitched!

Congratulations are in order for Chelsea Clinton, the former First Daughter who grew up in the White House before our eyes thruout the 90′s, and the love of her life Marc Mezvinsky … they went and tied the knot in a lavish wedding ceremony in Rhinebeck, NY yesterday afternoon. As you may recall, we learned last November that Chelsea and Marc were engaged to be wed and earlier this week we saw photos of Chelsea running around NY in the most conspicuous outfit while attempting to run errands in an inconspicuous way. Yesterday, in front of 400 of the couple’s closest family and friends, Chelsea and Marc said their I Dos and happily became husband and wife:

Surrounded by 400 friends, and her parents Bill and Hillary (who wore Oscar de la Renta), the former First Daughter, 30, wed her longtime boyfriend Marc Mezvinsky, 32, in Rhinebeck, N.Y., on Saturday. She wore a dress designed by Vera Wang, a family friend, who was also in attendance. Shortly after the ceremony, President Clinton and Secretary of State Clinton released a statement.

“Today, we watched with great pride and overwhelming emotion as Chelsea and Marc wed in a beautiful ceremony at Astor Courts, surrounded by family and their close friends. We could not have asked for a more perfect day to celebrate the beginning of their life together, and we are so happy to welcome Marc into our family. On behalf of the newlyweds, we want to give special thanks to the people of Rhinebeck for welcoming us and to everyone for their well-wishes on this special day.”

The guest list was relatively free of star wattage (without Oprah Winfrey or President Obama) but included Mary Steenburgen, former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, actor Ted Danson, film producer Steven Bing, and a handful of congressmen and other prominent Democrats. According to The New York Times, the interfaith ceremony was conducted by Rabbi James Ponet and the Rev. William Shillady. (Chelsea is Methodist; Marc is Jewish) … Clinton and Mezvinsky, an investment banker who has kept a private life, have been pals since they met at a conference in 1993, and they remained close at Stanford University. But only in 2005 did their friendship turn romantic, when they debuted as a couple at the opening of Tao nightclub in Las Vegas. They have lived together in recent years in a downtown New York apartment, along with their Yorkshire terrier Soren. As for kids, “I’m not going to put any pressure on her,” Hillary told PEOPLE in 2007. “But my friends are starting to have grandchildren and it’s a great experience, so I look forward to it someday.”

To be honest, considering that Chelsea‘s father was a 2 term president of the United States of America and her mother is the current US Secretary of State, this wedding ceremony sounds like it was a quiet affair … which doesn’t surprise me in the least. Chelsea Clinton has always kept a low profile despite the fame that came with being the First Daughter and she has managed to life her life with grace and class. It’s very cool, IMHO, to see her married to the man she loves … all growed up. She looks absolutely stunning in her Vera Wang dress and I couldn’t be happier for her and Marc. Let’s send our warmest congratulations to Chelsea and Marc on the their happy nuptials and wish them a long and very blissful life together.

Orlando Bloom & Miranda Kerr Got Hitched!

Congratulations are in order for the newly married Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr … because the sneaky couple went and got themselves married this week! As you may recall, the couple (who have been dating since 2007) announced to the world that they got themselves engaged to be wed last month … and then, all of the sudden, news broke late yesterday that the couple went and got married in a secret ceremony. Sneaky Sneaky. But, it’s a done deal, they got hitched, y’all:

That was fast. Only a month after their engagement was confirmed, Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr have married. The model, 27, and the British actor, 33, are now on their honeymoon, Kerr says in a statement that also explains the cancelation of her appearance at the Australian department store David Jones. “David Jones very graciously released me during this period so we could celebrate an intimate ceremony and honeymoon together,” Kerr’s statement says. “I’m very much a part of the David Jones Family and I am very committed to my role. I am enormously grateful to David Jones to have been given this time to enjoy such a special moment in my life.”

I mean, yes this is a big surprise but on the the other hand, not really. You may recall that we saw photos of Miranda checking out church locations for the possible wedding just days after news of the couple’s engagement was announced in late June. I could tell then that they were chomping at the bit to get the deal done. To be honest, I’m not entirely sure where the couple said their I Dos (none of the reports out today seem sure) but I suppose it really doesn’t matter. All that matters is that Orlando and Miranda are blissfully happy as husband and wife. Lets send them our warmest congratulations and all of our love on their happy nuptials! Congrats!!
