Congratulations are in order for actress Jennifer Aniston because yesterday she was awarded with the 2,462nd star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. With this achievement, Jen becomes the first former-Friends star to be awarded a star on the Walk of Fame and she joins recent WoF honorees Matt Groening, Paul McCartney, Neil Patrick Harris and others as celebrities whose names will forever be etched on the famed streets of Tinsel Town. Jen was so excited by her Walk of Fame award yesterday that she openly kissed her boyfriend Justin Theroux IN PUBLIC! Yes, she was smoochin’ on him under the cover of night at her recent birthday party but this time she did so IN BROAD DAYLIGHT! Wow, she really must’ve been happy. Last Friday we saw photos from Paul McCartney‘s award ceremony on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. As you may recall, Sir Paul was given the 2,460th WoF star … today, we learn that Simpsons creator Matt Groening was honored yesterday with the 2,461st star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Groening‘s star ceremony yesterday was timed perfectly for the celebration of the 500th episode of The Simpsons as well as Groening‘s 58th birthday today. Yep, it looks like Matt has got a LOT to celebrate these days. More »
"I'd really especially like to thank my beautiful family: Simon, Kit, Walker, Henry"
Actor Matt Bomer, who stars in the hit series White Collar and will be featured in the upcoming male stripper film Magic Mike, has come out as a gay man this week. Bomer has never really shied away from living his life openly and honestly but he has never actually spoken publicly about his longtime relationship with his partner Simon Halls (who is also the father of Bomer‘s 3 children). Over the weekend, Bomer was honored with an award at the Desert AIDS Project’s Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards and in his acceptance speech, acknowledged his partner and their children … essentially publicly acknowledging his homosexuality :) More »

20 Years, 23 Seasons, 500 Episodes
Matt Groening’s bigger-than-iconic cartoon sitcom about a family of yellow people, which is both high and low culture, has run 23 seasons and will air it’s 500th episode on Sunday, February 19th. This is a huge achievement! Two decades ago, it was considered “dangerous” and evangelists and politicians denounced The Simpsons as “a televised toxin that weakened parental authority and coarsened the culture”. Today, it is quoted more than anything else. I’ve actually heard friends of mine use Homer’s lines to explain things in their own lives. Check out some of the pics from the The Simpsons’ 500th Episode fan party on February 8th. This week we should all celebrate Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie…true pop icons! More »

Just In Time For Valentines Day...
There was so much news yesterday about the Grammys and the star of the night was without a doubt the British soul singer, Adele. She walked away with most of the trophies including Song of the Year, Best Short Form Music Video, Best Pop Solo performance, Record of the Year and Album of the Year. Phew! Adele really is an astounding talent and her performance was highly anticipated given that she has not performed in 3 months since she had surgery on her vocal chords last year. Last night was also the debut of her showing the world her new beau, Simon Konecki. Did you see him sitting next to her at the Grammys? He’s pretty cute…it is also perfect timing with VALENTINES DAY today! More »

Washington Becomes the 7th US State to Legalize Gay Marriage
Last week the Washington State legislature passed a bill legalizing same-sex marriage in the State of Washington and earlier today, Governor Christine Gregoire signed that bill into law. Washington today becomes the 7th state in the US where same-sex marriage is legal. The law will not go into effect until June and opponents of marriage equality are already planning their attempts to overturn the law but … no matter … today is another day of jubilation and celebration of the advancement of equal rights for all in this country. Congratulations are in order for former Beatle Paul McCartney because yesterday he was honored with his very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Altho The Beatles have had their own star for years, this is the first time that Paul has been honored with a star of his own. As I understand it, Paul‘s solo star was approved back in the early 90s and due to various circumstances the unveiling ceremony was put on hold. But yesterday was his big day! Click below to see photos of Sir Paul being honored with the 2,460th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. More »
Earlier this week we learned that Prince William has been deployed to the Falkland Islands in order to help keep the peace during the upcoming 30th anniversary celebration of the Falklands War and today we get a new military update from another member of the British royal family. WA Becomes the 7th State to Legalize Marriage Equality
Amazing news to pass along today … just one day after the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that California’s Proposition 8 ban on same-sex marriage is unconstitutional, the Washington State House of Representatives voted yesterday to legalize same-sex marriage in the State of Washington. The Washington State Senate approved the bill last week and now that the entire WA State legislature has passed the bill, all that is required is the signature of Democratic governor Christine Gregoire for the bill to become law! Gregoire has promised that she will sign the bill into law next week, then Washington will be the 7th State in the United States of America to legalize same-sex marriage. More »
