Says Collins, "I don't have time to think about history"

Yesterday afternoon we learned that professional basketball player Jason Collins singed a contract with the Brooklyn Nets to play for their team, making him the first openly gay player in the NBA and the first openly gay player in any of the four major US sports (NBA, NFL, MLB and NHL). Last night, Collins suited up for the Nets in their game against the LA Lakers at the Staples Center in LA and made history with just 10 minutes of professional sports play. The Brooklyn Nets won the game last night but the real winner was not only professional sports here in the US but the entire country as a whole as it continues to move forward toward a true place of true equality in this country. It’s Official! Christina Aguilera IS Pregnant With Her Second Child

Looks like that rumor was true after all

Earlier this month, OK! magazine reported that Christina Aguilera is pregs with her second child … which I shared HERE on the blog but didn’t necessarily believe entirely. Then we found out that she and boyfriend Matt Rutler got engaged to be married and I thought … omg, maybe she is pregnant after all. Today, Xtina is confirming officially that she is with child! While I didn’t initially believe the rumor, I did have a feeling that her engagement to Matt had more to do than just a simple desire to marry. It sounds like the couple’s baby news might’ve had something to do with their decision to get hitched. More »

Leighton Meester & Adam Brody Are Reportedly Married!!!

Whaaaaat?!?!?!?!?!?!

SO, Us Weekly is reporting that actors Leighton Meester and Adam Brody have gotten themselves secretly married … and we’re only just now hearing about it today. You may recall that we first heard about this new romance a year ago back in February of 2013 … and then we heard in November that the couple got engaged to be married. At the time, neither Leighton nor Adam confirmed the engagement news as true but if this new claim by Us Weekly is to be believed, then the couple did confirm their engagement by running off and getting married in secret! What? I know that a lot of people, me included, kinda love the idea of these two together so … this secret wedding news should come as very good, if somewhat surprising, news. More »

A Federal Judge Rules That Virginia’s Ban On Same-Sex Marriage Is Unconstitutional

The 20th State

Last night Virginia became the 20th state to enjoy marriage equality when a federal judge ruled that the state’s ban on same-sex marriage is unconstitutional. As you may recall, we learned last month that a judge overturned Oklahoma’s ban on same-sex marriage and in December a judge overturned Utah’s ban on same-sex marriage. Now, folks can’t just run out and get married in Virginia just yet because the judge stayed his ruling pending an appeal … but as you can clearly see, the unstoppable tide of marriage equality in this country is moving us FORWARD toward the eventual day when all US citizens will be free to enjoy marriage equality in all 50 states!
