The Most Wonderful Time of the Year
It’s that time of the year again, time when People magazine names their selection of the Sexiest Man of the Year and this year, they have bestowed that hallowed honor on the one and only Channing Tatum. While Channing has been featured among the Sexiest Men of the Year before, this is the first time he has graced the People cover as THE sexiest of them all. Considering how much lurve People gave to the cheeky male stripper film Magic Mike earlier this year, it should come as no big surprise that Channing has been selected for this tribute. Click below to see Channing‘s sexiest People magazine coverphoto, read some excerpts from his coverstory article and see which other hot mens made the cut this year as the sexiest of the year. More »
Barack & Mitt are Bros, For Real!
I, uh, don’t really know what to say about this story but … it’s a very interesting one, that’s for sure. A woman named Millicent Owuor in Nairobi, Kenya gave birth to twin sons this week and she decided to name one of them Barack Obama and the other Mitt Romney. I’m not even kidding here. Perhaps in a spirit of bipartisanship, Millicent decided to try and quell the divide that exists in American politics by naming her sons after the political foes … or maybe the lady is just batshizz crazy but … well, this is a real thing. “This happened because of you”
Congrats are in order for President Obama for winning reelection but also because … his victory tweet last night is now the most re-tweeted tweet that has ever been re-tweeted. Shortly after the election was called in his favor, President Obama posted a photo and a message on his official Twitter profile … and that message was instantly retweeted by tens of thousands of people. Justin Bieber used to hold the record for the most re-tweeted tweet ever but Obama has just snatched his wig. More »
History Is Made in America
Last night’s election win was a big one for President Barack Obama, reelected to serve as our nation’s leader for a second 4 year term, but it was also a monumental and historic night for equality. For the first time ever in this country, same-sex marriage proposals were passed by voters in 3 states and an amendment to ban same-sex marriage in another state was voted down by voters. People, this is very significant. Marriage Equality has been passed in this country by way of judicial ruling and by legislation … but it was always voted down by voters when the matter was put to popular vote (Proposition 8 here in California, you might remember, took away the right to same-sex marriage here 4 years ago). For the first time ever, voters in not just one state but 4 states stood up for equality for all. I’m just stunned and elated. History was made in other ways last night as well. Tammy Baldwin was elected as the first openly gay US Senator (she is also a veteran) and in New Hampshire, the State is now governed by all women! The governor and entire Congressional contingent are women! If all of this combined doesn’t prove that America is ready to move FORWARD with progress, then I don’t know what does. Read on to learn about all of this history and very good news. More »
FORWARD, 4 More Years
It is with a very happy heart that I can say that President Barack Obama has won reelection in the 2012 Presidential Election. I’m not going to lie, I was pretty confident even since the first debate but there was NO WAY I was going to say anything out loud with any definity. Naturally, I worried very much from time to time mostly because of the way the 24 hour news cycle had to frame the election as a horse race and yes, it was a close election but thankfully, Obama pulled out a win. The president issued a statement to his supporters from his Chicago, IL headquarters thanking them for their hard work in reelecting him. Icons at Every Age
As we get nearer and nearer to the end of 2012 we will begin to see awards, accolades and the like attributed to people named as the Best of the Year. Glamour magazine is among the first publications to name their pick for Woman of the Year and have decided to bestow the honor on popstar Selena Gomez. Now, Glamour very wisely has chosen different Women of the Year to represent different age groups (Icons at Every Age, they say) but they have selected Gomez as the covergirl to represent them all. In effect, she has been named the Woman of the Year of the Women of the Year. Get your first look at Selena‘s just-leaked coverphoto below. More »
Last month we got our first look at baby girl Breeze Baretta, daughter of Levi Johnston and Sunny Oglesby. Many of us had not-so-high expectations of Levi Johnston as a father of two, after his on again/off again engagement to Bristol Palin, with whom he has a four year-old son Tripp. But Levi is apparently not interested in having two babymamas (one will usually suffice)– and he got hitched! Levi and Sunny tied the knot yesterday in Alaska, y’all! Congratulations are pretty much in order.
It's A Boy!!!
A few months ago we heard the amazing, exciting news that singer Adele was pregnant with her first child when the mom-to-be personally shared a message on her official website describing herself as ‘over the moon‘ with joy. Shortly after, we heard whisperings about Adele possibly being way more pregnant than we might have thought, as some suggested that she might even be due in September. Well, the rumors were only a month off because on Friday, October 19, Adele reportedly gave birth to her first child, a son with presumed fiancé Simon Konecki. One of the shortest bump watches eh-ver is o-vah and I’m kind of excited! Adele‘s a mommy! Ahhhh!!! Click inside for deets!
