Last Summer, after the Spring release of her new album Biophilia, visionary Icelandic artist Björk performed a 3-week concert residency in Manchester, England where she performed songs from her new album in an interactive and educational series of live performances. Today we learn that Björk has announced a 10-date series of concerts scheduled to take place in NYC throughout the month of February and the first week of March. Björk‘s official Facebook profile has been updated with a detailed press release announcement for this concert residency, which you can read below.

Yesterday was a fun and productive day for me … I saw my last movie of 2011 and then I attended my last concert of 2011. The movie was The Iron Lady, starring Meryl Streep … the concert was Matthew Sweet at the Echoplex performing his 1991 album Girlfriend in full. ‘Twas a great day full of fun entertainment. I think it’s pretty safe to say that 2011 was a really stellar year for our dear Britney Spears. Almost every week all year long, Britney had some very fun stuff for US fans to talk about. Back in January of 2011, we got our first taste of Britney‘s new music … and as the year unfolded, we got more and more music to enjoy. Our girl embarked on a world tour, her sons continued to grow in front of our eyes and as 2011 came to an end our pop princess turned 30 years old … and then got engaged to be married to her loverman Jason Trawick. Last night I made my way down South to Anaheim, CA to see a couple of coverbands in concert. Now, I’m not a big fan of coverbands but I’ve been so curious to see The Smiths/Morrissey coverband Sweet & Tender Hooligans live in concert that I couldn’t resist making the trek to see them last night. I’ve been listening to The Smiths almost every single day for the past 6 months so, yeah, I’ve been on a definite kick lately. Hooligans performed last night with Strangelove, a Depeche Mode coverband and I have to tell you … they both put on fantastic shows. I had a blast! I snapped some photos and shot some video to give you a taste of last night’s superfun concert.

Wow. I mean … wow. I am a bit speechless today as I sit here and try to succinctly write about last night’s Tori Amos concert at the Orpheum Theatre in downtown LA last night. As you may recall, Ollie and I saw Tori perform live in concert Saturday night at the Orpheum and last night, Adriana and I attended Tori‘s second LA show. The setlist last night was peppered with rare treats (Ode to the Banana King) and longtime favorites (Take to the Sky) but we got a song so rare that Tori Amos has never performed it live in concert before. To say that last night was magical would be an understatement. Last night my darling Ollie and I attended the first night of Tori Amos‘s 2 night concert stint here in Los Angeles and we had a blast. Tori played the beautiful Orpheum Theatre in downtown LA and she absolutely and unequivocally enchanted the entire sold out room. Ollie hadn’t been to a Tori Amos concert in many, many years so I was really happy to have her as my date. I expected her to be impressed and to love the show … but I didn’t expect her to love it as much as she did. Let’s just say a tear (or 20) was shed ;) All in all, it was a fantastic night.

Last night, David and I were invited over to our friends’ Tom and Patrick’s home for dinner and we had a really nice time hanging out with them at their place. Tom and Patrick had their entire condo decked out for the holidays … it was so nice. The guys treated us to a sumptuous Beef Wellington dinner … which was beyond delish. We had a blast. After dinner, I made my way to the Music Box to see Dinosaur Jr. in concert. The band performed their 1988 album Bug in its entirety and pretty much rocked my face off. ‘Twas a pretty amazing night, I gotta say.

Last night David and I made our way to the Staples Center in downtown LA to see Jay-Z and Kanye West live in concert on their Watch the Throne Tour. Altho I’m not necessarily a huge fan of either artist, I couldn’t pass up the chance to see 2 of the best rappers alive perform together on the same stage. Last year I got to see Eminem in concert with Jay-Z in Detroit, MI and I was completely blown away. Last night, I was kinda blown away again. Check out some photos and video from last night’s show.

Garbage has been giving a bunch of interviews lately (HERE, HERE and HERE) about their upcoming new album (due out early next year) and today we get the first news of their upcoming world tour! The band posted a message on their official Facebook profile announcing the first two confirmed dates of their 2012 tour. Yesterday we saw photos from the FINAL performance of Britney Spears‘s Femme Fatale Tour which took place over the weekend in Puerto Rico and today we get to see one more bit of awesomeness from that last show. Thurout the tour, Britney brought fans up on stage to sing and dance with her during her performance of I Wanna Go (I was lucky enough to get pulled on stage during the final dress rehearsal back in June before the tour officially kicked off).
