KidneyThieves Rock The Roxy

The TV Guide

I after falling in LOVE with X-Men: First Class yesterday evening, I made my way out to The Roxy on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, CA to see KidneyThieves in concert. Back in my goth/industrial phase, I was a big fan of the band’s debut album Trickster. Their song Feathers is still one of my all-time fave songs from my club days. I had never seen the band live before so, last night was my first chance to do so. More »

Burn Out

The TV Guide

Last night I met up with my friend Jen and her friends Stacey and Mark at the House of Blues in West Hollywood, CA to see Cinderella live in concert. Now, back in the day — 25 years ago, when Cinderella first came onto the scene — I was too young to be allowed to see the band in concert. While I was never a huge fan of the band, I did like some of their music and enjoyed a bit that hair/metal music scene. Last night, on the band’s 25th anniversary tour, I finally got to see the band in action. More »

Rock Of Ages

The TV Guide

Last night David and I got to hang out with our friend Emma and all we basically did was eat and talk and eat and talk … and watch TV. Then we snacked. Yeah, it was a pretty rad night. Because Emma is heading off on an Australian adventure a couple of weeks, we wanted to get in as much hang out time with her while we still can. All in all, not a bad way to spend a Wednesday night. Prince Completes His ’21 Night Stand In Los Angeles’

The TV Guide

That’s it … last night was the official end of Prince‘s legendary 21 Night Stand concert residency here in Los Angeles, CA on his Welcome 2 America Tour. For the past month or so, Prince has blessed LA with a string of 21 performances that have ranged from the massive to the incredibly intimate … wowing fans at every turn. I was very, very lucky to be able to attend 14 of those performances including shows at The Forum (11), at The Troubadour (2) and the House of Blues (1). Last night’s final performance was truly the cherry on top … in front of a sold out house (that was so sold out that people waited in line for HOURS hoping to score a ticket to get inside) Prince played for about 3 1/2 hours, ending his residency with a massive BANG! Nothing Compares 2 Prince & Mary J. Blige

The TV Guide

Last night was the second to last Prince concert at The Forum in Inglewood, CA as his 21 Nite Stand in Los Angeles concert residency comes to a close. I attended last night’s show with my good friend Josh and an AMAZING friend of his hooked us up with VIP tickets and aftershow passes. As if that wasn’t awesome enough, the Queen of Hip Hop Soul Mary J. Blige opened up for and performed with Prince during last night’s concert. Honestly, all of the Prince shows have been special … but this may be the most special of all. More »

The Beginning Of The End

The TV Guide

Last night I attended my 12th show of Prince‘s 21 Night Stand concert residency here in LA which, I have learned, is coming to an end this weekend. Apparently, the 21 Nite Stand refers to 21 performances … not 21 actual nights of shows. It was revealed yesterday that this weekend’s shows — Friday, Saturday and Sunday — will be the final shows … so that made last night’s performance a bit more special. More »

In The Nicks Of Time

The TV Guide

Last night I had the great honor of FINALLY seeing one of rock’s most amazing female musicians live in concert and the only think I could keep thinking throughout the entire show was … what the Hell took me so long to see Stevie Nicks live in concert?! If you can believe it, I managed to score a front row center balcony seat yesterday morning, the day of the concert. I’ve always wanted to see Stevie live but for various reasons, I never actually did. Last night Stevie performed an album release party on her 63rd birthday … and put on a show that I will never forget. More »
