Last night my friend Jen and I trekked our way East to the sleepy hamlet of Pomona, CA to see Jared Leto in concert. Yes, the rest of his band 30 Seconds to Mars was there as well but to be honest, there wasn’t much spotlight on them at all … in fact, the stage lighting was so dark, it was difficult to see that anyone else was on stage except for rockstar Leto … but, to be honest, that was perfectly fine by us. My plans for a night of dancing last night kinda fell apart at the last second but a new plan was formed for a big dance party celebration this weekend … therefore, I wasn’t too broken up about it. Instead, I stayed in and played a bunch of sweet records … natch. My plans for tonight are more exciting, tho, cuz my friend Jen and I will be trekking our way to Pomona, CA tonight to see 30 Seconds to Mars (and Jared Leto) LIVE in concert. More »

I am happy to report that for the first time ever, David and I will be spending Xmas together. Yes, in the almost 5 years that we have been together, we have never been able to spend Xmas together because one or both of us jetted off across the country to be with our parents. Thru a series of circumstances, David decided to stay here in LA with me … and we are very much looking forward to spending our first Xmas together. More »

Last night, David and I made our way to The Orpheum Theater in downtown LA to see Peaches live in concert. To be honest, I wasn’t at all sure what to expect from a concert that was being called Peaches Christ Superstar but I was totally surprised and WOWED by what we got. Peaches performed the entire soundtrack to Jesus Christ Superstar all by herself with only a piano accompaniment. Peaches‘s longtime collaborator Chilly Gonzalez played piano and Peaches sang … the entire Jesus Christ Superstar show all by herself: More »

After spending about 16 hours unconscious yesterday, I am happy to report that I am feeling a smidge better today. I’m not sure what the heck is going on but this is the second time I’ve come down with a 24-hour bug that really knocked me on my bum. Yesterday was a pretty hellacious day and the only way to not suffer was to be asleep. The body aches stopped at around 8PM last night but I slept the rest of the night away in the hopes that I would wake up refreshed. I wouldn’t say I’m feeling refreshed exactly but I am feeling a million times better. I’m deffo on the upswing and that is the best news ever. If I continue to keep feeling better, David and I are still planning to make our way to the Orpheum Theater in downtown LA to see Peaches live in concert:
I’ve been a fan of Peaches for many years now so I’m excited to see her live on stage again. She is performing a show titled Peaches Christ Superstar that I’ve heard is pretty fantastic to see. I’ve deliberately stayed away from any show spoilers so I’m really looking forward to seeing what she’s got in store for us. To be honest, if it weren’t for tonight’s show, I’d deffo be staying my ass in bed … but it’s Peaches. I gotta see this show.
And so … another Friday is upon us again. This weekend is the last weekend before Xmas so … I hope all y’all make the most of it! Happy Friday, Happy Weekend!!

First up: Hong Kong
Last month we learned that Janet Jackson will be embarking on a 35 city world tour next year in celebration of her 35 Number One songs and today we get our first look at the poster artwork for Janet‘s new tour. Jackson is letting fans around the world determine the cities she will visit on tour and Hong Kong has been chosen as the site of the Valentine’s Day concert:
Look out, world: Janet Jackson is coming to a city near you. The legendary pop star has announced her largest-ever world tour to celebrate her 35 chart-topping hits in 35 different cities across the world. Hong Kong has been voted by fans as the kick-off city, where she will perform tracks exclusively from her greatest hits collection Number Ones. The Rhythm Nation leader will launch the tour at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on February 14, with subsequent dates to be announced soon. “The fans really reached out and voted for Hong Kong to be the Valentine’s Day city of our Number Ones tour. I am thrilled to receive your votes and I will be performing in Hong Kong Feb 14, 2011!” wrote Janet on her website. Ahead of the tour’s start, Janet will be celebrating the release of her upcoming book True You, hitting stores February 8. The singer’s first book will take readers into her lifelong struggle with weight and exercise, meant to inspire those who need to improve their self-esteem.
As you may recall, Janet promised that she will dedicate one of her 35 Number One songs to each of the 35 cities she will visit … so each concert will be special and unique. I’ve never seen Janet Jackson live in concert and David is a HUGE JJ fan so we are deffo planning to see her when she performs here in SoCal (because, undoubtedly, Janet will play a concert in SoCal). Her tour kicks off in only 2 short months … are y’all ready?
