Earlier today we learned that Prince and his new all female band 3rd Eye Girl will be embarking on a West Coast tour of North America starting next month and right now, thanks to Dr. Funkenberry (the unofficial official authority on all things Prince), we get our first look at the official poster artwork for the tour. Titled Live Out Loud, this new tour will hit at least 7 cities where 2 concerts per night will take place on 2 different nights (that’s 4 concerts per city). Last night the music/pop culture blog Dr. Funkenberry revealed exclusively the amazing news that Prince and his new all female band 3rd Eye Girl will be embarking on a West Coast mini-tour next month that, thus far, is made up of 7 cities with 2 concert dates each. It was also revealed that each concert date will feature 2 shows per night!! Starting in mid-April, Prince and 3rd Eye Girl will tour cities spanning the west coast of North America spending 2 nights in each city and performing 2 shows on each night. Wow. I know this may come as a a COMPLETE SHOCK but authorities on the US border to Canada found a “small amount” of marijuana on one of Rihanna‘s tour busses. I know, I know … I hope you’re sitting down while reading this. Those of you who follow Rihanna on any one of her various social networks knows that the girl LOVES to show off photos depicting her love of marijuana so it really is QUITE SHOCKING that authorities would think to search her tour bus for the illegal substance. Morrissey Contracts Double Pneumonia, Cancels US Tour

Sigh. It would seem that Morrissey‘s 2013 US Tour is just not meant to be. After severe illness caused Morrissey to postpone months of shows at the start of the year (including a show I was supposed to see back home in Michigan), he triumphantly performed a string of shows here in SoCal in front of sold out venues of fans (I was lucky enough to attend 3 of those shows — in San Diego, in LA and at Hollywood High School). Unfortunately, Morrissey‘s return to the concert stage was short-lived because earlier this week he had to cancel his performance in San Francisco due to a bout of double pneumonia. Last night, Morrissey released a statement that is sure to break hearts all across the country … due to his continued illness, he has been forced to cancel completely the rest of his US Tour :( More »

As we all know, it ain’t easy growing up Bieber. In the past week or so, Justin Bieber has been exhibiting the early signs of a possible teen pop star meltdown. Either that, or he just needs a nap. He recently got into an almost physical altercation with a paparazzo, he got in big trouble for starting his London concert late, and he ended up in the hospital after collapsing onstage during another concert. Justin Bieber‘s been making hella headlines recently; he’s been doing the gas mask thing (because, yeah, I guess it’s a thing now), and showing up late to his concerts. He’s also taken to Twitter to rant, rave, and praise the good Lord above… and it would seem that, perhaps, all the stress is getting to him. Remember that London concert that Justin Bieber started 2 hours late that upset so many people (including many of his heartbroken young fans) earlier this week? Welp, it looks like JB is going to have to pay a hefty price for his extreme tardiness. The Greenwich Council in London has decided to fine The Biebs £10,000 for every minute that he exceeded the concert performance curfew. As a result, JB has been slapped with a £300,000 fine! Yikes! Justin Bieber Starts London Concert 2 Hours Late, Crushes The Dreams Of Many Fans

It would appear that popstar Justin Bieber‘s bratty behavior has started to move from his private life to his professional life. Now, instead of merely annoying folks with his personal behavior (which includes gas masks, saggy pants and lots of whining — Hell, even Olivia Wilde is fed up with his bullshizz), he is starting to annoy fans (and, more importantly, their parents who pay for everything) with his very unprofessional on stage behavior. Bieber was scheduled to take the stage at the O2 Arena in London, England last night at 8:30 but didn’t show up to perform until just after 10:30 PM. A 2 hour delay may not sound like the end of the world to some of us but for an artist whose fanbase is made up of school age children on a school night, it’s a problem. If you consider that many of JB‘s London fans had to get home by subway, you can imagine how heartbroken many of those fans were when their parents forced them to leave the concert early — before Justin even took to the stage — so that they could catch the last subway trains home before they ended service for the night. Yesterday was an absolutely beautiful day here in LA … the temps got into the mid 80s, the sun shone bright and beautiful and I got to hang out with some great friends. For lunch, I ventured into the Valley with Steph and Alek for a trip to Outback Steak House … were dessert was had at the Krispy Kreme next door. I know, I know … AMAZING, RIGHT?! After I stuffed my face, I returned home to relax for a bit before meeting up with Tamar for our date night last night. Tam and I made our way to Hollywood High School to see Morrissey live in concert. As you should be well aware, I got to see Moz two times earlier in the week but last night’s show was THE coolest experience of the bunch. Moz sold out his Hollywood High show in 12 seconds and I was lucky enough to get a pair of tix. Yes, folks, it was amazingly fun. More »

Morrissey & Patti Smith Slay LA

Back in the late 80′s/early 90′s, Morrissey would routinely sell out huge arenas like the Staples Center but over the years, Moz has been much happier to perform for more intimate audiences in smaller theater venues. But last night, he returned to his glory days by performing a sold out concert at the Staples Center here in LA. Last night’s show was originally supposed to take place last November with Iggy & the Stooges but the tour was postponed until just this month. The absolutely AMAZING Patti Smith joined Moz in concert last night and the pair of them put on a show that was truly unbelievable. Check out a few photos and video below. More »
