Word To Your Mama

The TV Guide

My Sunday here in Detroit was a pretty fantastic day … it was prolly my fave day of the trip thus far because I got to spend some time with my mom and dad in celebration of Mother’s Day. I chilled with my folks for a while at my childhood home before we stepped out for a nice Mother’s Day Brunch together. Last night, I made my way downtown to see The Breeders live in concert and then made it home in time to watch the Detroit Red Wings defeat the Anaheim Ducks on TV. See? Great day :D More »

Madonna’s ‘MDNA’ World Tour Will Air On EPIX Next Month

June 22

Earlier this month we learned that Madonna is planning the release of a concert DVD for her hugely successful 2012 MDNA World Tour with the leaking of the tour backdrop video for her performance of Gang Bang. Today we learn that before Maddy releases her tour DVD, the entire show will air first exclusively on the cable network Epix. You may recall that Epix was the network that secured the broadcast rights for Britney Spears‘s Femme Fatale Tour so it makes sense that the network would also want to secure the rights to air Madonna‘s tour as well. Click below to see the just-released poster for the Epix broadcast and learn more about the special. More »

2 Prince Shows R 2 Funky 4 U

The TV Guide

Last night I made my way down to Anaheim, CA to see a couple of back-to-back concerts by the one and only Prince and his new band 3rd Eye Girl. When I found out earlier this year that Prince was embarking on a mini-tour of the West Coast, I knew I had to see at least a couple of shows. At each concert stop, Prince has been performing two sets per night on two consecutive nights, giving fans a chance to see him 4 times in just a couple of days. Last night was the first night of back-to-back shows and I was lucky enough to attend both. More »

Watch: Justin Bieber Attacked By A Belieber On Stage In Dubai

Guess Who Got Caught Lip Syncing

It was harrowing weekend for Justin Bieber as he brought his Believe World Tour to Dubai because as he performed on stage during the performance, an overeager fan stormed the stage and tackled The Biebs mid-song. Thankfully, no one was hurt and JB‘s security sprung into action to apprehend the fan as Justin scurried away to safety but … Lord, it’s kinda funny to watch. Click below to check out fan-shot video of the incident that resulted in an overturned piano. Take careful note of JB‘s vocals, thruout the entire incident, his “singing” continues unimpeded. LOL. Watch: Beyoncé Performs ‘Irreplaceable’ With Blue Ivy During The Mrs. Carter Show

Baby Blue Was Brought Out During A London Show
You Must Not Know 'Bout Blue

Beyoncé‘s Mrs. Carter Show world tour has been getting plenty of press, but today we have some non-nipple-costume-related news, lol. The singer was performing on stage at London’s O2 Arena and a very special guest showed up. Around the 5:45 mark in the video little Blue Ivy pops up (in the arms of Beyoncé‘s bodyguard, maybe?) and holds hands with her Mama while the pop star sings Irreplaceable. The fan who shot the video wasn’t even sure that it was Blue, but judging by the screams (and the fact that baby girl has on protective headphones), we’re all assuming it was the one and only BIC. Cuteness! Peep the video for more!

UPDATE: A clearer picture of this reported “duet” between Beyoncé and Blue Ivy has surfaced, click below to check it out:

Watch: 50% Of The Smiths Reunite On Stage In Brooklyn, NY

Half is Better than None
Half Way to a Full Reunion of The Smiths

Last month I got to see Johnny Marr of The Smiths live in concert during weekend 1 of the Coachella Music and Arts Festival in Indio, CA but last night, he performed a concert in Brooklyn, NY that leaves me seething with envy. During his set, Johnny brought up a fellow member of The Smiths for a performance of classic single How Soon Is Now? Bassist Andy Rourke joined Johnny on stage last night for, essentially, what turned out to be a 50% reunion of The Smiths. Check out the embed above to see this mini-reunion and seethe with jealousy along with me.

Also, I wonder how many times Morrissey has watched this clip already ;)

Justin Bieber Stops His Own Concert In Turkey To Honor The Muslim Prayer Call

Justin... Did Something... Respectable?
Justin Bieber concert series in Stockholm, Sweden, at Globe Arena

As many of y’all know, Justin Bieber and I have had beef for a while now. Really, it all started when he compared himself to Jay-Z and made that completely incorrect reference to Cam’ron in Teen Vogue. That was pretty much it for me. Shortly thereafter we had the Anne Frank situation, and I’ve just been over him in that way where it’s really easy to be over someone because you were never really into them anyway… lol. But I think it’s fair to report on all the Bieber goings-ons, not just the ones that I find to be totally wack. The Biebs recently performed in Istanbul and paid his respect to the religion of many of his concert-goers, which I thought was a good look. Click inside to learn more.

Watch: Madonna Previews The ‘MDNA’ World Tour DVD With The Release Of The ‘Gang Bang’ Tour Backdrop

Bang Bang
Preview the 'MDNA' World Tour DVD

Madonna is reportedly planning the release of a tour DVD from her hugely successful 2012 MDNA World Tour and today we get a bit of a preview of that DVD release. Maddy has released the official tour backdrop video that was used during her performance of her song Gang Bang for our viewing pleasure. Those of you who saw the show in person will recognize the video featured in the embed above as the video that was splashed on the video screens during the Gang Bang performance. Depending on your tolerance level, this video might be NSFW. There is quite a bit of violent imagery even tho nothing really terrible is shown. Check out the video, see what you think. I would love to see more tour backdrop videos get released and I’m really looking forward to the tour DVD release.
