At the start of this month, we learned that the late Michael Jackson was to be immortalized in cement in front of Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood, CA to kick off the 3-week LA residency of Michael Jackson: The Immortal Tour by Cirque Du Soleil. The big hand/footprint ceremony took place yesterday and featured MJ‘s 3 children — Prince Michael Joseph, Paris Michael Katherine and Prince Michael Joseph Blanket Jackson — doing the honor of signing his name, imprinting his sequined glove and a pair of his dancing shoes in cement. Many members of the Jackson family (including his mother Katherine and his brothers Tito, Jackie, Marlon and Jermaine) were also on hand for the event yesterday, alongside luminaries like Quincy Jones, Smokey Robinson … and strangely, Justin Bieber. It’s been a year since we last saw photos of daddy Hugh Jackman, his daughter Ava Eliot and their pet pooch Dalí playing in the NYC snow … but it’s about that time again. Manhattan has finally gotten it’s annual dump of snow which meant that Hugh had to get bundled up and out into the streets to play. As you can see in the photos below, Hugh and Ava decided to involve the paparazzi photogs in their little snow ball fight … and along the way, Hugh fed Ava some questionable snow. It was all in a day’s fun for Hugh and his little girl.

Funny guy, Jim Carrey’s daughter, Jane Carrey, may soon become known in her own right as she auditioned for American Idol and made it through to the next round. She recently had a baby (check out the cute pics of grandpa Jim with Jane’s baby) and now has her heart set on becoming a singer…we were talking the other day about American Idol having lost it’s way because it is in its 11th season, but maybe ‘discovering’ a new star could bring it back to life?

When last we checked in with Sandra Bullock and her adorable baby boy Louis Bardo, the little dude was all decked out as a pirate at a pre-Halloween birthday party last October. Today we get to check out a few new photos of Sandra and Louis as they made their way to school earlier today. Sandra, the doting mom that she is, dutifully deposited little Louis Bardo at his pre-school here in SoCal … and yes, as you can imagine, the little cutie was lookin’ cute … as usual.

Earlier this month we learned that Nick Cannon was hospitalized with minor kidney failure while he was vacationing in Aspen, CO with his wife Mariah Carey and their twin children Monroe and Moroccan Scott. A couple of weeks later, we learned the happy news that Nick was released from the hospital after undergoing successful surgery so that he could recuperate at home. Today we learn that Nick made his first public appearance since his release from the hospital at the BET Honors in Washington DC last night. Earlier this week we learned that Australian scientists named a rare species of fly after popstar and new mom Beyoncé Knowles. Today we learn that Bey‘s newborn baby girl Blue Ivy has already done her one better. Proprietors of medical marijuana dispensaries here in LA have named a new strain of weed after little Blue Ivy. I mean, I don’t know about you but I’d rather have a strain of weed named after me over a species of fly. Okay … are you ready for a MASSIVE dose of adorableness? Britney Spears posted a video on her official Twitter profile of her eldest son Sean Preston dancing his little buns off while playing the Ubisoft video game Just Dance Kids 2. It looks like Britney quietly came upon Sean P. while he was dancing in the living room and she managed to record a minute of really cute video. Check it out in full below.

There is an old adage that says, The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree … which means, many children (either for good OR bad) usually emulate or follow in their parent’s footsteps later in life. At just 4 days old, Blue Ivy Carter — the firstborn child of Beyoncé and Jay-Z — is ALREADY following in her parents’ hit-making footsteps. Billboard magazine reports that newborn Blue Ivy is the youngest person ever to appear on any Billboard magazine music chart. As you may recall, Jay-Z released a song titled Glory just 2 days after baby Blue was born and that song features the baby girl “performing” on the track. Just 2 days after the song was released, it hit #74 on Billboard‘s R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart.
