Dannii & Kylie Minogue Have That ‘X-Factor’

Okay, so we don’t get X-Factor here in the US so I’m not entirely sure how the show works but … apparently Dannii Minogue, as one of the judges, gets to pick 3 contestants to compete for the big prize and her contestants will go up against the 3 pics of the other judges. In order to help make her selection, it is being reported that Dannii enlisted the help of her big sister Kylie Minogue to help make the decision. Here are pics of Dannii and Kylie looking AMAZING in Dubai recently and the deets of all this X-Factor drama:


With seven number one hits, who better to help little sister Dannii win this year’s X Factor than Kylie Minogue? Dannii has vowed to beat rival judge Cheryl Cole by hiring Kylie – one of the world’s best-selling pop stars – to help her pick her three acts for the final. A source said: ‘Dannii realised once again that it’s a competition between the judges as much as it is between the competitors. ‘She knows she’s going to need the best team behind her.’ The source added: ‘Dannii knows that Cheryl is still managing to win the battle for the public. She realised it was time to bring in her sister to help change things around a bit.’ The sisters were filmed in a suite at the five-star Atlantis Palm hotel in Dubai, where rooms start at £1,000 a night. Kylie, 41, wears an emerald green off-the-shoulder dress while Dannii, 37, wears a floor-length patterned gown. The last 12 acts – three for each judge – will be revealed at the end of next Sunday’s show before the live rounds begin next month. A source told the Mirror: ‘The girls had a blast in Dubai. Dannii is a professional and takes her job as a judge very seriously. ‘But it was lovely for her to be able to take her sister with her to go through the decision-making process. Between them the girls have nearly 40 years experience in the music industry so who better to spot the stars of tomorrow?’ According to the Daily Star Sunday, Dannii claims she was made to feel like an outsider on last year’s X Factor. Dannii broke down in tears on one of the live shows when Louis Walsh accused her of stealing on of her song choices. The newspaper reveals that Dannii is once again reduced to tears on tonight’s Boot Camp show when her fellow judges decide to throw out one of her favourite artists.

Ummm … yeah … I still don’t know what the heck is going on over on X-Factor … all I know is that I love seeing the Minogue sisters together. It’s a shame that Dannii is all bizzy with this X-Factor biz in the UK cuz she’s gonna miss out on Kylie‘s North American Tour debut this week here in Oakland, CA. I was hoping Dannii would be able to sneak over here to see Kylie‘s shows but I understand she cannot break away. In any event, Dannii will be workin’ hard on X-Factor and Kylie will be workin’ hard touring the US (well, some of the US). Gotta love those Minogues :)

‘The Circus Starring Britney Spears’ Ends Its US Run

Britney Spears ended the second leg of her North American tour, The Circus starring Britney Spears, at Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV last night and by all accounts the entire tour (which took her to Europe earlier this year and will take her to Australia later this year) has been a smashing success. Before Brit Brit took to the state for one last time (here in the US), she loaded up her men (sons – Sean Preson and Jayden James, father – Jamie Spears and rumored paramour and agent – Jason Trawick) and made her way to the Sugar Factory boutique to load up on candy for her kiddies … here are a few pics:


Aww … such a cute family. I’m not sure if I totally believe the rumors that Jason and Britney aren’t together together … but I still contend they make a very nice family when they are all together. Britney Spears Retains 50/50 Custody Of Her Children

Great news for Britney Spears today … the ruling judge overseeing her ongoing custody case for her young sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, has extended the 50/50 custody ruling put in place earlier this year to last at least thru the end of 2009. After Britney‘s scary melt-down in early 2008, Britney lost custody rights to her children and their father, Kevin Federline, became their primary custodial caregiver. Since Britney‘s recovery, she has slowly won back visitation rights to see her sons and then earlier this year won back equal custody rights to share with K-Fed … for a price:


Britney Spears will share 50/50 custody with Kevin Federline at least through the end of the year — TMZ has learned. An L.A. County Superior Court judge extended the order that was initially put in place for Britney’s concert tour. Under the terms, Britney gets to travel with Sean Preston and Jayden James and must provide K-Fed with a place to stay if he wants to follow them on tour. Sources tell us the sealed order is very detailed, but Britney gets minimum 50/50 custody and at times even more. As for Kevin, in addition to the $20,000 a month Britney pays him in child support, he gets between $20,000 and $25,000 a month when the kids are outside of California. At the end of the year the judge will reevaluate custody. We’re told it’s looking like a 50/50 split is the way of the future.

You may recall that the order states that K-Fed has to be PAID by Britney extra money IN ADDITION to his regular child support payments. The good news is that the order has been extended and Britney will get just as much time with her sons as K-Fed does, the bad news is that she’ll be shelling out LOTS of money to her slimy, overfed ex-husband for the right to see her children. It’s a gross situation but I commend Britney for doing what she has to do to be with her children. A 50/50 split is the best either parent can hope for so this is great news for our dear Britney. She has come a very long way since her breakdown … I think her success with her children has been her greatest accomplishment.

Here are a few adorable photos of Gwen Stefani with her PERFECT family — hubby Gavin Rossdale and sons Kingston James McGregor & Zuma Nesta Rock — enjoying a lovely, sunny day here in a park in SoCal yesterday afternoon:


We haven’t been able to see much of the Stefani-Rossdales here on the blog lately … mainly because Gwen was touring with No Doubt for much of the Summer. I believe her family was on the road with her but that left no time for them to just relax and play on the weekends. It’s crazy that little Zuma Nesta is already 1 years old! It seems like the cute little guy was just born and now he’s already 1. To be honest, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if Gwen and Gavin decided to have another child soon … I bet she is desperate for a girl. Whatever the case may be, it’s hard to imagine this little family getting more perfect … but I’m sure they’ll do it.

David Beckham Helps The LA Galaxy Head Into The Play-Offs

David Beckham played one of his last home games with the LA Galaxy at the Home Depot Center in Carson, CA last night. Altho it is being reported that Becks has already signed a new contract with Italian soccer team AC Milan (which is set to begin permanently next January), he played last night with much gusto helping his team beat Toronto FC by a score of 2-0, moving them forward towards the MLS play-offs. Here are a few pics of Becks in action in last night’s game:


David Beckham scored once and assisted on another goal to lead the Los Angeles Galaxy to a 2-0 victory over Toronto FC. The Galaxy remain two points behind Houston for the Western Conference lead and are third in the MLS with 41 points. The top team in each conference and the clubs that have the next six highest point totals qualify for the playoffs. Beckham scored in the ninth minute with a left-foot strike from 17 yards. Edson Buddle clinched the win with seven minutes to play. Former Manchester United star Beckham said: ‘Tonight, I was happy with my goal and I was happy with the assist I gave to Landon and Eddie, but I think it was the overall team performance that was exceptional tonight.’ Galaxy boss Bruce Arena said: ‘David’s a real good player, there’s no question about it. He is a person with a lot of pride, besides that outstanding ability that he has. He did everything he could tonight to lead this team. I thought his performance was outstanding.’

As per usual, Becks had his cheering squad in the hiz last night rooting him and the LA Galaxy to victory:

Katherine Heigl & Josh Kelley Show Off Their Newly Adopted Daughter

Idina Menzel and Taye Diggs aren’t the only celeb couple showing off their new child today, happily marrieds Katherine Heigl and Josh Kelley are also showing off the newest addition to their family. Katherine and Josh recently adopted a little girl they named Nancy Leigh, who they call Naleigh, and are happily showing her off to the world today:


Hollywood actress Katherine Heigl has issued the first photo of her newly-adopted daughter. The intimate picture shows the 30-year-old star in a close, loving embrace with husband, Josh Kelley, and 10-month-old Nancy Leigh, or ‘Naleigh’. Naleigh is a special needs baby, born in South Korea and she is named after Katherine’s mother Nancy and sister, Margaret Leigh. An insider told American magazine Us Weekly the fact that Katherine’s new baby has special needs will not be an issue. The insider said: ‘They are thrilled to have a child in their lives, no matter what the challenges.’ At this stage it is not quite clear exactly what Naleigh’s special needs are. Katherine completed the adoption of her new daughter this week after revealing she was soon to be a mother on Ellen DeGeneres’ chat show just last week. She revealed Naleigh’s special needs actually made the adoption process much quicker. Katherine told Ellen: ‘She is a special needs baby and because of that, it all moved so much faster. ‘They wanted to get her to us as quickly as possible.’ Heigl’s own sister was also adopted from Korea, and she said it’s something she had always wanted to do. In fact, the Knocked Up star admitted she was so set on adoption that she even made sure hubby Josh was ok with adoption before they were engaged. She said: ‘I just wanted to make sure that I was marrying a guy who understood that that was going to have to happen.’ Her spokesperson said: ‘Katherine, Josh and Naleigh are together and doing well.’

What a beautiful story … it’s always a joy to see new parents united with new children, whether those children are born or adopted into their new families. You can just see the love emanating in this happy family photo (even without all the added pink hearts). Much congrats and love goes out to Katherine and Josh on the addition of their new daughter! May they all enjoy a long and very happy lifetime of bliss together :)

Idina Menzel & Taye Diggs Show Off Their Newborn Son

Earlier this month we learned that happily marrieds Idina Menzel and Taye Diggs welcomed the birth of their first child, a boy named Walker Nathaniel … and today we get our first look at the 2 week old little darling … behold:


Is he a Broadway baby in the making? Taye Diggs and Idina Menzel offered fans a glimpse of son Walker, 2 weeks, in a family portrait released Tuesday. Walker – the first child for the Rent stars – was born on Sept. 2. Menzel and Diggs, both 38, met while starring in the 1996 Broadway production of Rent. They wed in January 2003.

What a beautiful baby boy … and a gorgeous family! A baby born of such talented stock is sure to be a sensation when he’s all grown up. Much, much love and congrats goes out to the happy family. While I realize that little Walker is only 2 weeks old, I hope Idina and Taye are planning on making more babies … cuz it’d be a shame if the world was gifted with only one adorable Menzel-Diggs baby. Sooooo cute!!

The Madden Twins Hit The Streets Of SoCal

Yesterday we saw photos of new dad (again) Joel Madden making his way to his SoCal gym just a week after his second child, Sparrow James Midnight, was born … and today we get to see that Joel made it two for two as he stepped out again sans newborn baby boy but with twin brother Benji Madden:


It’s gotta be tough to leave your newborn baby boy so soon after his birth but I’m sure hanging out with a twin brother lessens the separation anxiety. It’s always great to see the Madden twins together and I’m sure they have a lot to talk about … but I’m already dying for more info about Sparrow James. I imagine that Nicole Richie is resting comfortably and little Harlow Winter Kate is having the time of her life with her new baby brother … the Richie-Maddens are the cutest family ever! I can’t wait to see them all together again.

Heidi Klum & Seal Throw A Super Birthday Party For Their Son Henry

Heidi Klum and Seal, who never shy away from an opportunity to get dressed up for a special event (like their White Trash-themed wedding vow renewal ceremony earlier this year), threw a little birthday shindig for their eldest son Henry Günther Ademola Dashtu yesterday in fine fashion. Except for Heidi who dressed like a princess (and a few other party poopers who didn’t dress up at all), all the guests at Henry‘s 4th birthday party were dressed up as Superheroes! Here are a few pics of the proud parents at their son’s birthday extravaganza yesterday afternoon:


Seriously, this has to be the funnest family ever! I love that Seal not only is a good sport about dressing up but he does so with gusto! I love him in this ill-fitting Wolverine costume. I imagine there is a lot of fun to be had in the Klum-Samuel household. Birthday love and wishes goes out to little Henry today on turning 4 years old!!

The McConaughey Family Spends Labor Day At The Beach

As you might expect, Matthew McConaughey herded up his little family and took them out for a day of relaxation at their home-away-from-home — the beach! Here are pics of Matthew, a very pregs Camila Alves and their first born child Levi Alves at a beach in Malibu, CA yesterday afternoon:


Labor Day or not, the McConaugheys really love spending time at the beach so it’s not really surprising in the least that they would make yesterday a beach day. It is always really fun seeing photos of Matthew spending time with his baby boy … they make an adorable couple. Very soon, Camila will be bringing forth the fruit of her loins and their little family will be a wee bit bigger and, most likely, a whole lot cuter. Aren’t they just the cutest?
