Last week we learned that our dear Britney Spears will be releasing a new music video for her single Criminal this week but yesterday she gifted us with a series of AMAZING animated gifs that give us our first taste of the final video. Yesterday news spread very quickly that actor Zachary Quinto casually came out as gay in an interview with New York magazine. While I yearn for the day the “coming out” is no longer necessary, newsworthy or controversial, I must reiterate my happiness with the way that Zachary handled the situation. Instead of making a big deal about coming out, Quinto just very casually referred to himself as a gay man in the course of his conversation with New York mag. A blog post on the band’s official website went online today explaining, in their own words, why and how R.E.M. came to the decision to — as they put it — “call it a day”. Last weekend we learned officially that Bravo TV decided to fire 4 of the 6 castmembers of The Real Housewives of NYC and today we are hearing publicly from one of those fired castmembers for the first time since the firing. Jill Zarin — who started out as one of my faves and then slowly regressed into a bitter, hateful and jealous person — posted a statement on her official blog about being fired from the show. In addition, RHONYC alum Bethenny Frankel — who has her own show away from the Real Housewives franchise AND was almost lost at sea a few days ago — was asked about the firings and she offers her opinion. Early last month we got an update from No Doubt frontwoman Gwen Stefani on the band’s progress as they write and record their new album and, at the time, she let us know that work on the album has been “desperate” but productive. Last week, just days after Ryan Dunn was killed in a senseless drunk driving car accident, Johnny Knoxville and the rest of the Jackass family convened at a funeral home in West Chester, PA for a memorial service in honor of their late friend. At that memorial service, Knoxville tried to eulogize Dunn in front of family and friends but, apparently, was unable to do so as he would’ve liked. On the official Jackass website this week, Knoxville posted a touching eulogy to Ryan Dunn in order to express what he was unable to convey at the memorial service last week … and it is a very touching read. Early this month we learned officially that singer Cheryl Cole was replaced by Nicole Scherzinger as judge on the US version of The X Factor (due to premiere on Fox this Fall) reportedly due to the fact that producers feared that the US audience would have difficulty understanding Cole‘s Geordie accent. Just one day after news of Cole‘s axing was announced, Simon Cowell spoke out publicly about the decision to fire Cheryl from X Factor. Since that time, Cheryl Cole has been silent … but yesterday, she posted a message to her fans on her official blog to finally speak out and give a personal update in the wake of the X Factor debacle. This Spring, Nicole Richie and her children Harlow Winter Kate and Sparrow James Midnight joined hubby/father Joel Madden and his band Good Charlotte on their North American Tour. Along the way, Nicole snapped some photos and video of their tour adventures together and she put together a very cool, very sweet home video of some on-stage and back-stage footage. This tour was a family affair for the Richie-Maddens, some of which you can share in below.

Late last month we learned that actress Alyssa Milano and her hubby David Bugliari are expecting the birth of their firstborn child and a day later, Alyssa‘s baby bump made it’s red carpet debut at the premiere of Hall Pass here in Hollywood. Last night, Alyssa took to her official website to officially announce the sex of her baby and revealed that she is incubating a baby boy in her womb.
