From the Producer Of 'Jerry Maguire' And 'As Good As It Gets'
Earlier in the summer we saw the teaser trailer for a new Kathryn Bigelow film, Zero Dark Thirty, which chronicles the capture and killing of Osama Bin Laden. Even watching that clip I kinda felt like it would be a difficult movie to watch, considering the many questions so many of us still have about that particular event. I feel similarly about a new 9/11 film starring Martin Sheen and Woody Harrelson, which will focus on some of the so-called ‘truther’ movements that attempted to present new theories about what really happened on September 11, 2001. Even so, I’m excited to learn more about the project, currently titled September Morn. Click inside for details.

Back To The Big Screen
Rising star Shailene Woodley (from The Secret Life of the American Teenager and Descendants) is about to come back to the big screen in a big way. She’s just been confirmed to play the role of Mary Jane Watson in the sequel to this past summer’s The Amazing Spider-Man. But what does that mean for our beloved Emma Stone, who took on the role of Gwen Stacy??? Click inside for more!
Don't Act Like You Haven't Been Waiting For 'Zoolander 2'
Ahhh, Zoolander. It’s hard to believe that this movie actually came out in 2001; it was sooo 90s! Ben Stiller‘s unforgettable comedy about the life, times, and hardships of a male supermodel is getting a sequel (which Stiller confirmed back in 2010), and I can think of a lot of people who are totally excited… myself sorta, kinda included. It’s no Les Misérables, but it’s not supposed to be! It’s Zoolander, and Zoolander is currently on the prowl for his leading lady which may or may not be the one and only Lady Gaga. Mama Monster has (allegedly) been offered $4.8 million to take the lead alongside Stiller. Deets inside!

Pryor's Widow Gives Her Blessing
A few months ago I lost my shizz when we got the news that Zoe Saldana would be playing Nina Simone in the forthcoming biopic about the late, great jazz singer. Well, I’ve had some time to come to terms with that casting decision (sort of), and now we have more news about the movie. Comedian Mike Epps has been chosen to play the part of the legendary Richard Pryor, who had his own relationship with Nina Simone. Click inside for more details!
With Amy Adams In The Lead Role
So, for whatever reason, there are currently two Janis Joplin biopics in the works. One is titled Janis and will star Nina Arianda, and be directed by Sean Durkin (Martha Marcy May Marlene). The other will star Amy Adams and is titled Janis Joplin: Get It While You Can. Now Lee Daniels is directing this one and considering his work on Precious, Shadowboxer, and Monster’s Ball (which he produced), we can probably expect some pretty intense things. Although the same could be said for Durkin‘s production. Luckily, we don’t have to choose between the two because it looks like we’re gonna be getting both! Click inside for deets!
There & Back Again
Back in January we learned that actor Elijah Wood, the star of the Lord of the Rings trilogy of films, would be reprising his role as Frodo Baggins in the forthcoming prequel film The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. As you may know, The Hobbit isn’t really a prequel since the novel predates the LOTR trilogy of books but for our intents and purposes, we can refer to it as a film prequel. The events in The Hobbit take place before the events of the LOTR story so it’s unlikely that Wood‘s appearance in the film will be anything more than a cameo. Today we get to see a few new promo photos from An Unexpected Journey, one that gives us our first look at Elijah as Frodo in The Hobbit. More »
Mario and Khloé will Share the Job
Back in May, The X Factor finally confirmed that they had signed on Britney Spears to judge the show alongside Simon Cowell, Demi Lovato and LA Reid. The next bit of casting involved the host or hosts who would helm the show once the live performances part of the show got underway. It was assumed that a host or the hosts would be announced over the Summer, well before the show began airing in September. The show started airing and no host was announced. The show is now in its second month and up until this week, no host was announced. There had been rumors about who might get the gig and today we learn that those rumors have been officially confirmed. Mario Lopez and Khloé Kardashian Odom have been selected to co-host The X Factor. Natrually, this is good/bad news for me. More »
SPOILER ALERT: Agent Phil Coulson, played by Clark Gregg in the Marvel films, has something very unfortunate happen to him in The Avengers film (which came out back in May so this isn’t really a spoiler but I’m trying to convey this new news about the character in as respectful a way as possible to Marvel fans who have yet to see The Avengers). BUT, it was revealed this weekend at New York Comic Con that Agent Coulson (still played by Clark Gregg) will appear in the pilot episode of the new Joss Whedon-helmed Avengers TV series S.H.I.E.L.D. Naturally, this is great news for fans … read below to learn more about this geekily happy news. More »
Wes Anderson Hearts Jason Schwartzman 4Eva
So a while back we got the sad, sad news that Johnny Depp would not be appearing in Wes Anderson‘s new flick, The Grand Budapest Hotel. However, we did get confirmation that Bill Murray (a fave of Anderson‘s) and the incomparable Angela Lansbury (recently photographed by Terry Richardson, to my shock and awe) would be in the movie. Jason Schwartzman AKA ‘Jonathan Ames’ formerly of HBO‘s Bored To Death AKA another fave of Anderson‘s (and mine, and PITNBR Sam‘s) is now confirmed to have a part in the movie, and he’ll be playing alongside the awesomeness that is Jude Law, Adrien Brody, Ralph Fiennes (le sigh), and a few others. How amazing does this cast sound?! I know. Amazing. Click inside for more.
From The Guy Who Brought You 'The West Wing,' 'ER,' And 'Shameless'
A little while back we saw the amazing trailer for Ewan McGregor‘s new film The Impossible, a movie that’s getting major Oscar buzz for painting an intense portrait of one family’s experience during the Southeast Asian tsunami. We all know Ewan‘s brilliant, which is why I’m really excited to learn more about his next project, a film that features at least three of my favorite actors ever. Also, John Wells (who’s written for shows like The West Wing, ER, and Shameless) is directing. Niiiice. Click inside for deets!
