Blame It On the Rain
Back in April of last year we first learned that Russell Crowe signed on to play the lead role in the Darren Aronofsky Biblical epic film Noah, which promises to be “scary as Hell”. Shortly there after we learned that Emma Watson, Jennifer Connelly, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Ray Winstone and Logan Lerman also signed on to the film. Today, we get to see these actors in character as they will appear in Noah. As you can see in the gallery of promo photos presented here, the photos have a bit of a Lord of the Rings-type feel to them. Despite the Biblical subject matter, I believe Aronofsky is going to try and give us an exciting, aventure film that may resonate with fantasy movie fans. We shall see. For now, peruse the photos and see what you think. Do they make you exclaim OH MY GOD! in a good way … or a bad way?
'An American Mystery' Will Hit Theatres Next Summer
Hmmm… I’m usually excited about biopics or movies based on true events, but this one is tricky. Can you believe, there’s an OJ Simpson movie in the works? I guess what I mean is, can you believe this is the first feature film about the murder trial that was once (and may still be) considered to be the trail of the century? As far as I know, there hasn’t been another movie like this, so it’s kind of a big deal, though I can’t honestly say I’m excited to see the film when it comes out. Still, the details are interesting, so click inside for more!
Looking To Recreate That 'Django' Magic?
So, I think we officially have confirmation that Leonardo DiCaprio is not taking any kind of break from acting, at all. Ever. We just saw the amazing trailer for The Wolf of Wall Street, plus he’s got the JFK movie and the Rasputin biopic happening as well. And now, some news to make all the Django Unchained fans super happy– Jamie Foxx and Leo will be reuniting on the big screen in a new flick titled Mean Business on North Ganson Street. Based on what I’m hearing, it sounds like a buddy-cop, crime thriller, so I’m expecting good things. Click inside for more!
Plus, Alex Pettyfer Might Still Be In The Running For Christian Grey
Call it Fifty Shades of Grey or Fifty Shades of Suck– whatever it is, the movie is definitely coming! Just a few days ago we learned that the Fifty Shades Of Grey adaptation finally nailed down (ahem) its director– Sam Taylor-Johnson, who some of you mentioned is known not only for her filmmaking, but also for being married to Aaron Taylor-Johnson (the actor is exactly half her age). Still no word on whether or not she’ll be casting her hubby in the role of Christian Grey, but we are hearing that Alex Pettyfer might still be interested, and we also have an official release date from the studios! Yes, It's Really Her
Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Gossip Girl actress Michelle Trachtenberg will appear in a forthcoming biopic film about the life of Lee Harvey Oswald, the man who shot and killed President John F. Kennedy and as you can see in the promo photo below, Michelle is COMPLETELY unrecognizable as Marina Oswald. It’s been some time since we’ve seen Michelle T. in a major project so it appears this new biopic film titled Killing Kennedy will be a nice reintroduction for her. Judging by the seriousness of the story, I’m guessing Killing Kennedy is a heavy-handed drama … which will be a nice change of pace for Trachtenberg, I think. Click below to get your first look at Michelle as Mrs. Oswald and as well as your first look at her co-star Will Rothhaar in character as Lee Harvey Oswald himself. More »
Last week we learned the somewhat surprising news that actress Shailene Woodley‘s character Mary Jane Watson was being completely cut out of the forthcoming superhero sequel film The Amazing Spider-Man 2. A couple of days later, it was revealed that another sometimes red-headed actress named Sarah Gadon joined the cast of Amazing … leading many to speculate that she was hired to play Mary Jane in Woodley‘s place. Today we learn from Gadon herself that she is NOT going to play MJ in the film … she swears she is going to play a “new character”. HMMM. She wouldn’t be lying to us, would she? More »
Maverick, Playboy, Brother
Back in May P. Diddy joked that he was joining the cast of the British TV drama Downton Abbey as the show’s first Black character but today we learn actual casting news about the show. American actor Paul Giamatti, who will also play the villainous Rhino in the upcoming superhero sequel film The Amazing Spider-Man 2, has signed on to appear in the forthcoming 4th season of Downton. According to the press release announcement, Giamatti will play a “maverick playboy” character … which, I’m sure, will bring some great drama to the already fantastic series. More »
I'm Guessing/Hoping Jaden Smith Will Also Not Have A Role
A few days ago we learned that a sequel to the 1996 blockbuster hit Independence Day was in the works. Independence Day 2 will bring back more aliens, more drama, and apparently, less Will Smith. No Will Smith, to be exact. Which is awesome, especially if you’re Trent and you were hoping against hope that Will would not be returning for the sequel, lol. I actually love Will… or did… before the whole After Earth/Jaden Smith debacle. Now I’m just scared that him being in a movie = Jaden being in a movie and I just can’t deal, for whatever reason. So yeah, we don’t have to worry about that this time around! Click inside for more!
Jessica Chastain & Michael Caine Also Confirmed!
It’s no surprise that Chris Nolan‘s new film Interstellar is boasting a pretty dope cast. We learned a while back that Matthew McConaughey is taking the lead and Anne Hathaway was confirmed shortly thereafter. Jessica Chastain and Michael Caine have since been confirmed, and now Casey Affleck is joining in on the fun. I’m especially excited for Affleck, who’s been getting lots of buzz for his film with Rooney Mara, Ain’t Them Bodies Saints (remember that amazing trailer?!), which did really well on the festival circuit. Now, This Should Be Awesome
Okay, so what is this Cinderella production that I’m just now hearing about? Helena Bonham Carter? Cate Blanchett? I’m in! We just saw HBC in that new promo image for the new Elizabeth Taylor biopic, as well as the trailer for the new movie from the Amélie director. She is so friggen dope, lol! And now she’s getting ready to play the fairy godmother of our dreams. Kenneth Branagh‘s production of Cinderella is in full effect! Click inside to learn more!
