Last we were talking about Chloe Sevigny it was to do with her role in the much talked about film, Lovelace. Today I’ve heard that she is going to be returning to the smaller screen with a guest role on NBC’s Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Power Casting: Meryl Streep And Julia Roberts Cast Together In ‘August: Osage County’

This could be the casting of the year – two of the biggest female actors have been cast together on screen for the upcoming film, August: Osage County. The Weinstein Company confirmed today that, after being in talks with the Oscar-winning actresses for over a year, Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts have signed onto the film adaptation of Tracy Letts’ Pulitzer and Tony-winning play. Back in November of 2009, we learned that author Candace Bushnell had written a prequel novel to Sex and the City that is focused on the teenage adventures of Carrie Bradshaw. Last month, we learned that The CW is making a TV series based on The Carrie Diaries. Today we learn that the first castmember has been hired for the new show. Altho we still do not yet know who will play the young Carrie Bradshaw, we do learn which actress has been cast to play her 14-year old sister Dorrit Bradshaw. More »

First Look: Brad Pitt Channels His Inner Gangster In ‘Cogan’s Trade’

Remember back in March of last year when we got our first look at Brad Pitt in costume as a badass on the set of his film Corgan’s Trade? Yeah, well, the promo for that film is finally underway and today we get to check out the first promo image of gangster Brad in the film. As I understand it, Corgan’s Trade will feature Brad as an enforcer who investigates a heist from a mob-protected poker game … or something surly like that. Clearly, as you can see below, Brad‘s slicked back hair and no nonsense facial hair means he is NOT playing around. More »

Simon Cowell Confirms He Was Considering Whitney Houston As A Judge On ‘The X Factor’

When it was reported on Saturday that Whitney Houston passed away, I mentioned that there was a rumor going around last week that Simon Cowell was considering signing Whitney as a judge on The X Factor. Today we learn that the rumor was true from Cowell himself. In an interview with Piers Morgan, Simon confirmed that he had reached out to Whitney and was planning to meet with executives this week over the possibility of signing her as a judge on The X Factor. (It did go to a great musical actress though, Samantha Barks instead of the rumored Taylor Swift.) Simon Cowell Says He Fought To Keep Paula Abdul On ‘The X Factor’

A few weeks ago we learned that host Steve Jones and judges Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul (in that order) were unceremoniously fired from season 2 of The X Factor here in the US. Shortly after news broke of the firings, Simon Cowell issued a short statement expressing his regret over the way things went down. American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy confirmed last night on the late night TV talk show Watch What Happens Live that the absolutely AMAZING Jessica Lange will return for the second season of American Horror Story. As you may recall, it was previously reported that an entirely new cast of actors will appear in AHS season 2 in an entirely new setting with only a select few actors from season 1 returning as well. The overwhelming majority of people were hoping that Lange would be one of the returning actors … and now we have confirmation.
