Good News-- Yes?
We’ve been hearing lots of buzz and casting news for Christopher Nolan‘s next flick, Interstellar. He was officially confirmed as the director, after taking the project over from Steven Spielberg. Then Matthew McConaughey was brought on to play the lead. As we all remember, Anne Hathaway took on the role of Catwoman/Selina Kyle in last year’s The Dark Knight Rises. And even if you weren’t a fan of her performance (I was) the whole move was kind of a big deal. It looks like Chris Nolan was digging her work for sure, because the director and Oscar-winning actress are teaming up again for Interstellar. Click inside for more!
The Movie Sounds Pretty Awesome
Ever since Django Unchained swept through my psyche, Christoph Waltz has become one of my new favorite actors. He picked up the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for the film and went on to further blow me away when he hosted Saturday Night Live. He can do no wrong! So I was psyched to hear that he’d been cast in Tim Burton‘s new film Big Eyes. Waltz will play alongside Amy Adams in a film based on the lives of two famous artists from the 60s who were best known for their paintings of children with large eyes, although the drama really began when they got divorced and folks discovered that one of them was a fake. Now If I Could Just Get Confirmation On Marion Cotillard's Part...
Interstellar is the next project from acclaimed Dark Knight Rises director Chris Nolan, and I know enough to start getting psyched now. Last week we started hearing casting news, and Matthew McConaughey was rumored to be a frontrunner for the lead role. For those of us who’ve been following his IMDB page, McConaughey is no longer the pretty boy rom-com actor he once might have been, as he’s been getting involved with some very serious projects. And now it’s official– he will be taking the lead in Chris Nolan‘s new flick! Get psyched! And click inside for more.
Jimmy Will Take the Reigns Next Year, Production Moves to NYC
Welp, it’s official, y’all. For weeks now there has been lots of chatter going around suggesting that Jimmy Fallon would be replacing Jay Leno as the host of The Tonight Show … and just this morning, NBC confirmed the rumors as true. Leno will leave the show in 2014 and Fallon will step in as the new host! To be honest, I don’t watch late night TV talk shows at all but … I greatly approve of this deal. Jimmy Fallon is amazingly talented (as evidenced by his fun week with Justin Timberlake) and I think he will make a great host on The Tonight Show. I’m also not sad to see Jay Leno go away so … it’s a win/win! More »
His 1 Season Stint Has Been Extended!
Great news for fans of The Walking Dead, David Morrissey has signed on to continue his role as The Governor in the upcoming 4th season of the show which is set to premiere later this year. Altho Morrissey had initially signed on to appear in just the 3rd season, it would appear that his popularity on the show has required that he be added to The Walking Dead as a series regular. None of this information is necessarily spoilery, I don’t think, but I’ll keep any further discussion about The Walking Dead (particularly the events that went down in the season 3 finale that aired Sunday night) below. And then Ryan Gosling came out and said he was gonna be taking a break from acting? Yeah, no. Shut all that ish down, because it has been confirmed that Ryan Gosling will be taking on the role of Christian motherfriggen Grey. This is happening, y’all! Click inside for more! Aghhhh!!!!
Has 'Interstellar' Found Its Leading Man?
A little while back we heard about Interstellar, a new movie from The Dark Knight Rises director Christopher Nolan. Steven Spielberg was originally set to direct the film, but now that Chris Nolan has taken over, everyone’s wondering what kind of star-studded cast he’s going to line up. I, for one, am waiting for confirmation on Marion Cotillard‘s part but in the meantime, we’re hearing rumors about Matthew McConaughey possibly taking the lead. Click inside for more!
Hey Girl, About That Acting Hiatus ...
Last week we learned the HORRIBLY UPSETTING NEWS that Ryan Gosling is thinking of taking a break from acting but today we learn of a new rumor that may refute Ryan‘s plans. According to the British tabloid The Sun (not exactly a bastion of verity but …), Gosling is being considered for the lead role of accused murder/Olympian Oscar Pistorius in an upcoming planned biopic about his life. Absolutely NOTHING has been officially confirmed by anyone at all so it’s prolly best not to take this rumor as gospel but … if it turns out to be true, it looks like Ryan‘s plans to take a break from acting might not actually happen. Late last month we learned that actress Megan Fox mended fences with director Michael Bay and accepted an offer to play the female lead role in the upcoming live action/CGI film adaptation of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Today we learn that a second actor has been added to the cast. Alan Ritchson (who previously guest starred on Smallville and will be seen in the upcoming The Hunger Games: Catching Fire) has been cast in the role of Raphael, one of the 4 ninja turtles. My initial reaction is that I love Alan, therefore, I love his casting. But, the more I think about how the ninja turtles might look in the Michael Bay film, the more concerned I grow. HMMM. More »
