This Could Be Huge
My summer reading list just keeps getting longer, and it’s starting to creep me out/I cannot wait to read this book now! Wild is a bestselling memoir that I kept hearing great things about a while back, and now it’s coming to the big screen. Have any of y’all read this book? Based on the description, it sounds pretty epic and I’m expecting a pretty epic film to go along with. Reese Witherspoon (who finally gets a drama-free headline, following that crazy arrest) just landed the lead role and she’s definitely got her work cut out for her, as the story follows a woman in her mid-20s who hikes 1,000 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail. As in, 1,000 friggen miles. Click inside for more!

Big news for fans of The Carrie Diaries … we learn today that the young Carrie Bradshaw (played expertly by AnnaSophia Robb) will meet her BFF Samantha Jones in the forthcoming second season of the fun CW TV series. Actress Lindsey Gort has been cast in the role of the young Samantha Jones and as you can see in her head shots presented in this post, she looks exactly like a young Kim Cattrall (who, I’m sure you’re well aware, played Samantha Jones in the HBO series Sex and the City). I mean, and I hate to say this, even if Gort cannot act, she looks so much like Kim Catrall that I can see how it was a no-brainer to cast her in the role. BUT, I have faith that this newcomer will do a great job giving life to the character we know and love. Click below for more deets about this Carrie Diaries casting news. More »
Jax Is About To Blow UP!
A little while back we had a blast celebrating the hotness that is actor Charlie Hunnam from FX‘s Sons of Anarchy. I’d just started watching the ah-mazing series on Netflix and now I’m working my way through Season 2– and, yes, still loving every minute of the show… and my Jax. Especially Jax. It was so fun seeing Hunnam in Pacific Rim which I caught last weekend, and now it sounds like the British actor has lots more work lined up on the big screen. He just scored the lead in Triple Nine, a new cop drama from John Hillcoat (director of Lawless and The Road). Click inside for more!
"YUP, I'M DOING 'THE VIEW'!"
Last week it was announced that Elizabeth Hasselbeck quit the daytime talk show The View to go work for Fox News (good riddance, IMHO) and today we learn who will be replacing her on the show. Funny lady and sometimes talk show host Jenny McCarthy has been added as the newest co-host on The View … and she couldn’t be more thrilled by the prospect. ABC made the official announcement today and Jenny did as well on her official blog. Click below to read what ABC has to say about McCarthy‘s casting on The View and find out just how excited Jenny is about her new job. More »
However, Tim Burton Will Not Be Directing
As we all know by now we are living in the age of the sequel, and Hollywood is going to keep cranking these bad boys out until we can’t take it anymore… lol. Disney‘s Alice In Wonderland remake received very mixed reviews from critics, but there were no mixed messages from the box office, as the film raked in over $1 billion back in 2010. I’m a big fan of the original Disney movie and I actually enjoyed the remake as well. There has been some talk about who would or wouldn’t be coming back for the sequel, and it looks like Johnny Depp will be reprising his role as the Mad Hatter. Tim Burton will not be directing this time around, but he’s got a few other things in the works so I’m sure he’ll be quite busy. Click inside for more deets on Alice In Wonderland le deux!
Meet The Mysterious Patrick...
After an epic season finale, Revenge is returning for season three this fall, and there’s going to be a lot of new ish popping off. A little while back we learned that my girl Ashley Madekwe would not be returning as a series regular, and the creator of the show (Mike Kelley) had also stepped down. I wasn’t sure about how to take all these new changes, but I’m still crazy, crazy excited for the new season. And today we have huge news! We finally have a face to go with Patrick, Victoria Grayson‘s long lost son who we found out about last season in the plot twist to end all plot twists. Justin Hartley has been cast in the role, which means the eye candy on Revenge just got a little sweeter. Click inside for more and peep the gallery to… um… acquaint yourself with Justin!
Adam Lambert, former American Idol contestant turned popstar in his own right, has just been added to the season 5 cast of the Fox TV series Glee. Glee creator Ryan Murphy made the announcement himself that the Glambert will be joining the cast of the show this Fall. At this early stage, we don’t yet know what role Lambert will play but his somewhat youthful appearance means he could play a character as young as a high school student … or he might play an adult role instead. Whatever the case my be, get ready … cuz Glee is about to get a bit more glam. More »

Colin Firth, Jacki Weaver & Marcia Gay Harden Round Out The Cast
Earlier this month we got our first look at Blue Jasmine, Woody Allen‘s latest film which comes out later this month. I mentioned that I’m sort of a new fan of the acclaimed director, having just started watching some of his contemporary works in the past couple of years, and now I’m getting into Throwback Woody. It’s been such a great time “discovering” his general awesomeness and falling in love with his work, and I can’t wait to get caught up on his filmography. Recently I learned that he’s already got a new movie in the works, and some familiar faces will be rounding out the cast. The Amazing Spider-Man actress Emma Stone was cast in the as-yet untitled project a while back, and she’ll be joined by Colin Firth, Marcia Gay Harden, and Jacki Weaver. Click inside to learn more!

"Let's not get greedy."
In mid-June we learned that plans are in the works to bring the DC Comics superhero superteam the Justice League to the big screen in a movie all their own (a la The Avengers from the Marvel Comics universe) but today we learn that there may be a stumbling block in the way. Christian Bale, the actor who portrayed The Caped Crusader in the 3 most recent Batman films, has completely ruled out his involvement in the Justice League movie. According to Bale, 3 Batman movies are enough for him so … he’s O-U-T. Hmmm. This doesn’t sound like it bodes very well for the planned Justice League movie, does it? More »
