Congratulations are in order for Academy Award winning actress Jennifer Hudson and her ex-reality TV “star” (who competed for love on I Love New York before finding his way to J. Hud) fiancée David Otunga because Marc Malkin from E! News has confirmed that the couple became the proud parents of their first born child last night. David Daniel Otunga, Jr. came into the world at 7lbs., 14oz. — it’s a boy, y’all!

Dreamgirl Jennifer Hudson just met her little dream boy. Tragedy took a backseat as the Oscar winner and fiancé David Otunga welcomed David Daniel Otunga Jr. late Monday, E! News confirms. The tot weighed in at 7 pounds, 14 ounces. The 27-year-old former American Idol contestant never officially announced her pregnancy, although speculation began when she wore increasingly loose-fitting tops. In early June, her longtime friend Felicia Fields admitted to having attended Hudson’s gender-neutral baby shower in their hometown of Chicago. Hudson and Otunga decided to wait to find out the tyke’s sex until his birthday.

‘Tis true, there was no official confirmation about her pregnancy until word of a baby shower back in June made its way to the Internets. J. Hud suffered far too much tragedy already last year with the tragic loss of her mother, brother and nephew so I hope this birth brings her all the joy and happiness in the world. I wish the Hudson-Otunga family a long lifetime of bliss together … much, much love and congrats!!!

It is being reported that Kelis gave birth to a baby boy today after she reportedly went into labor in NYC yesterday. As is her right, Kelis is keeping as much info about the birth of her child as quiet as possible until she can recuperate with her newborn son for a while. Apparently, Kelis barred her estranged soon-to-be ex-husband and father of her child Nas from the hospital yesterday (according to his lawyer) so, in possible retaliation, Nas is spreading news of the baby’s birth before Kelis has a chance to. According to the proud father, the baby’s name is Knight:

KELIS has given birth to a baby boy. The singer is believed to have delivered the tot in a New York hospital today after going into labour yesterday. The child’s father Nas – who is estranged from Kelis – was not allowed to be present at the birth. A source said: “Nas is in New York City, anxiously awaiting the arrival of his son. It was his intention to be there for the birth, but unfortunately he has not been allowed to be present. While this is clearly heartbreaking to him, Nas continues to offer his support and love to his new baby boy and his mother.” Nas’ lawyer has confirmed the 35-year-old rapper was not permitted to be in the delivery room as his son entered the world. No other details about the child have been released.

Well, no other deets have been released by Kelis … Nas, on the other hand, is talkin’ to any and everyone about the birth of his son:

Looks like Nas and Kelis’ divorce battle just got even more bitter. After receiving news that his soon-to-be ex-wife had gone into labor yesterday morning, Nas rushed to the hospital to be at her side — but was denied access to her room, his lawyer told MTV UK. Instead of getting mad, the rapper got even — announcing the birth of their son, Knight, before Kelis could release an official announcement … During a performance last night at Queensbridge — the public housing complex in Queens, NY, where Nas grew up — the rapper announced, “My son’s name is Knight. That’s what I named the young god, Knight! Y’all heard this first.” There’s no word whether “Knight” is the child’s official name — Kelis’ camp has yet to make any statements about the birth.

Last Tuesday we learned that Sarah Jessica Parker and her hubby Matthew Broderick welcomed the birth of their newborn twin daughters Marion Loretta and Tabitha Hodge who were born to them via surrogate mother on June 23. Today we get our first look at the beautiful twin girls in a new photo released to the media by the family. SJP holds Marion, Matthew holds Tabitha and their older son James Wilkie is sandwiched in between:

On Monday, the couple, who greeted twin daughters Marion and Tabitha June 23, released a picture of the beautiful new additions to their family. The girls, born via a surrogate, were joined by their older brother, James Wilkie, 6 ½.

Earlier today we learned that Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick became the proud parents of twin daughters born by a surrogate mother in Ohio and now we have an official statement from the couple on the babies’ birth … including their names. Here is the full text of the just released statement:

“Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are delighted to announce the healthy arrival of their two daughters at 3:58 p.m. on June 22 in Ohio. Marion Loretta Elwell Broderick weighed 5 lbs., 11 oz., and Tabitha Hodge Broderick weighed 6 pounds. Both Hodge and Elwell are family names on Parker’s side. The babies are doing beautifully and the entire family is over the moon.”

Yay!! Those are some serious names for a couple of tiny baby girls … but I’m sure Marion and Tabitha will grow into their very long names soon enough. Again, much love and congrats goes out to the newly expanded Parker-Broderick family!!

Congratulations are in order for proud parents Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick who are reportedly welcoming the birth of their twin daughters today. As we learned back in April, SJP and Matthew decided to have their twin baby girls by surrogate mother and we learn today that the surrogate mom gave birth to the little girls in Martins Ferry, OH earlier today:

CBS news in Martins Ferry, Ohio are reporting that the twin girls of Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick have arrived. Sources close to East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry confirm for CBS News that the surrogate mother for Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick gave birth to twins this morning. Sources tell WTRF Reporter Dave Elias that Parker and Broderick are at the hospital with the surrogate. We are also learning that Parker and Broderick are expected to make some type of announcement before they leave the hospital. However, Hospital Spokesperson Maggie Espina would not confirm or deny our reports. She would only say that the hospital has no comment at this time. Security at the hospital is tight this morning. We’re told additional guards have been brought in and even more are on standby, if needed, as this story is expected to get national attention.

Yay!! Much love and congrats goes out to SJP and Matthew on the expansion of their beautiful family. The couple already have a son, James Wilkie, so I’m sure they are ecstatic over the addition of baby girls to the fam. As of yet, no names have been announced for the twin baby girls but one hopes that the proud new parents will divulge that info if they do make an official birth announcement today. Congrats again, SJP and MB!!

Blah … I kinda hate myself for caring so much but I’ve been pretty much obsessed with the release of the 3.0 version software for the iPhone that I haven’t been able to focus since 9PM last night. Thankfully, I was able to download, install and activate the software before the Apple servers got hammered and am now enjoying the spoils of my freakdom.

I have very happy news to report on the personal front today. Last August, David and I attended the wedding of our dear friends Sashie and Will in Jackson Hole, WY and we learned late last year that Sash was pregs with the couple’s first child. We met up with Sashie in NYC a couple of months ago and got to meet her baby bump in person … and just last night, she finally gave birth to her firstborn son Jasper George:

The little man was born just before dinner and weighed in at 7lb. 4oz. and is 20in. long. He is so precious!! I am THRILLED for Sashie and Will and I wish them a long and very happy life with their beautiful newborn son :) Please join me in sending warm wishes, prayers and love to the McNaughton family today. Welcome little Jasper!

No plans for today … which is very nice … I suspect I’ll be playing around with my phone but mebbe we’ll get out and enjoy some of the day. All of Los Angeles is celebrating the 2009 NBA World Champion LA Lakers today … so Happy Lakers Day!! I’ll be wearing purple and gold … will you?

After giving birth to his first child with wife Nancy Beatie last July (a girl the couple named Susan Juliette), we learned in November that Thomas Beatie the so-called “pregnant man” was pregs once again with the couple’s second child. ABC News is reporting that Beatie gave birth to a baby boy early Tuesday morning (June 09) by way of natural child birth:

Thomas Beatie, the controversial “pregnant man,” gave birth to his second child, a healthy baby boy, early this morning, “20/20″ has learned. Sources close to the couple say that it was a “natural childbirth” and that they have not yet decided on the boy’s name. Beatie’s wife, Nancy, will be breastfeeding their son, as she did with their daughter, Susan Juliette, who was born last June. Photos of a bearded Beatie with a pregnant belly caused a sensation last year, leading to headlines about the world’s first “pregnant man.” Born a woman named Tracy, Thomas Beatie, now 35, had sex-reassignment surgery and legally changed his gender from female to male in Hawaii. Beatie, who kept his female reproductive organs, says that he decided to bear children, when his wife Nancy, 46, was not able to. The couple described their unusual path to parenthood in an exclusive interview with Barbara Walters last year, during which they revealed that Thomas was expecting a second child. Then in his first trimester, Beatie told Walters he did not go back on the male hormone testosterone after Susan’s birth so he could have another baby. “I feel good,” he said. “I had my checkups with my hormone level, as far as the HCG. And everything is right on track.” In last year’s exclusive interview, Beatie spoke to Walters about Susan’s birth, which was also not via Caesarean section. He was in labor for 40 hours; Nancy Beatie cut the umbilical cord.

Well … I suppose congratulations are in order for the expanding Beatie family! Now Thomas and Nancy have a girl and a boy … the traditionally “perfect” American family! I suspect news of this second birth will cause a bit of a sensation all over again (like news of the couple’s first child did last Summer) but, once again, I’m sure things will be back to normal again for the family. Again I say, much love and congrats to the Beaties on the birth of their little boy!
