Welcome to the world Archie Arnett
Amy Poehler Births A Baby Boy

Congrats are in order for Saturday Night Live‘s Amy Poehler and Will Arnett who are the proud parents of a bouncing baby boy who was born last night in NYC and the couple named Archie Arnett:

Comedians Amy Poehler and Will Arnett have welcomed their first child, a boy. Archie Arnett was born on Saturday and weighed in at 8 lbs., 1 oz., their rep Lewis Kay said in a statement. “Amy, Will and Archie are all healthy and resting comfortably,” Kay said. During the “Weekend Update” segment of Saturday Night Live, Poehler’s co-anchor Seth Meyers announced to a cheering crowd: “Amy Poehler is not here tonight because she is having a baby.”

This is amazing and very happy news. You may recall that it was just last week that a very pregs Amy Poehler not only showed up for work at SNL but managed to perform an incredibly funny rap song about Sarah Palin as well — and exactly a week later she goes and gives birth to a baby boy. It was very clear, last night on SNL, that Amy‘s castmembers were thrilled that she had given birth … not only did Seth Meyers give her that shout-out at the start of the Weekend Update but they also dedicated a We Love You, Amy song to her at the end of the segment. I can’t wait to see how cute little Archie Arnett is … rest well and we hope to see you soon, Amy and Archie (and you, too, Will). Much love and congrats again!!!

Meet the newest member of Le GangTM
Welcome To The World Grayson Carter

Congrats and love goes out today to the Lowenstein family who welcomed a new member to the fam last night. Darion‘s sister Damien gave birth to Grayson Carter Cromwell, via C-Section, at 6:55pm — the little man weighed 7 lbs. 5 oz. Here is our first look at Darion‘s newborn nephew Grayson:

I understand that new mom Damien is doing well and that proud papa Kirk and grandparents Janai and Tim are over the moon with giddy happiness:

Darion tells me that little Grayson wasn’t scheduled to be born until today but I guess the little guy just couldn’t wait one more day to be born into the world. He is such a cute little dude … I am so happy for the Lowensteins. I’m sending much, much love and congrats to them in Oregon today and I am very much looking forward to meeting this little guy hopefully one day soon.

Welcome to the world, Henry Story Driver
Minnie Driver Gives Birth To A Baby Boy

Felicitations go out to Minnie Driver on the happy birth of her firstborn child. People magazine reports that Minnie gave birth to a boy, which she named Henry Story Driver, this past Friday. Why so secretive, Min?

Minnie Driver became a first-time mom to son Henry Story Driver, her rep tells PEOPLE exclusively. The baby was born Friday in Los Angeles and weighed 9 lbs., 12 oz., rep Jessica Kolstad says. Driver, 38, who has not revealed the identity of the father, told PEOPLE in June that the dad will be involved in the baby’s life. “He’s going to be a dad so yeah he’s going to be there for the kid,” she said. “I’m not getting married to this person and I don’t know what’s going to happen but everyone is cool about the situation.” … [Minnie] says she plans on spending lots of time hanging out at the beach with her child. “I love the ocean and this baby will probably be surfing and swimming before it can walk.”

OMG! Surfing? Swimming? Mebbe the babydaddy is Matthew McConaughey?!? I wonder if Camila Alves knows about this? Hee hee … in any event, much congrats and love goes out to Minnie and little Henry.

Why Zima Nestea The Rock Rossdale?
Gwen Stefani’s Wacky Baby Name … What Gives?

So … we now know that Gwen Stefani finally gave birth to her second child yesterday here in SoCal, that she birthed another son and decided to name him Zuma Nesta Rock … and now, the speculation as to the “why” begins, at least, until either Gwen or hubby Gavin Rossdale decide to enlighten us. At first, I assumed that Zuma meant that she gave birth to a baby girl. Pink reader Sajel sent me a link that confirms Zuma is, traditionally, considered a female name … but what about the rest of the newborn baby’s name … what gives?

What’s in a name? For Gwen Stefani’s newborn, Zuma Nesta Rock – plenty. Take the unique first name: Computer game aficionados may remember Zuma, a popular 2004 video game from PopCap Games. Zuma required players to remove balls rolling around the computer screen by firing a colored ball at them before they filled up the screen. A more likely name inspiration? Malibu’s famous Zuma Beach, a favorite destination for parents Gwen Stefani, Gavin Rossdale and big brother Kingston. The beach, famous for its surfable waves, was the inspiration for Neil Young’s album Zuma, making the locale a bona-fide musical landmark. And then there’s Nesta, Zuma’s middle name. Gwen and Gavin, avid Bob Marley fans, probably took a cue from the late singer’s middle name, which was also Nesta. Marley’s home base of Kingston, Jamaica, was an inspiration for big brother Kingston Rossdale’s name, so it seems Marley themes are popular in the Stefani-Rossdale household. Zuma’s second middle name, Rock, might be a nod to Rock Steady, the third studio album from Stefani’s band No Doubt. Rock Steady was primarily recorded in Jamaica and featured a reggae-heavy sound, rounding out the Bob Marley love for the musical clan.

Lord. Well, as far as baby names go, Zuma Nesta Rock‘s isn’t the strangest … I think that distinction still belongs to actor Jason Lee‘s son Pilot Inspektor Riesgraf. It’s not even the most absurd baby name that I’ve heard of lately … I would have to say that Matthew McConaughey‘s older brother Rooster McConaughey (who has wacky name of his own, but doesn’t really count since it’s a nickname) naming his son Miller Lyte wins that contest. Even still, I can’t help but think that little Zima … sorry, Zuma is gonna have a lifetime of razzing coming his way. I just hope the kid learns how to defend himself early on … something tells me that his fair older brother, Kingston James McGregor, might not be that great of a protector. So … what do y’all think about this baby name?

E! News makes the call, 'People' magazine confirms
Gwen Stefani Gives Birth To Her Second Child

E! News is reporting that Gwen Stefani has given birth … but is very light on the deets. In fact, the details they do provide are still unconfirmed (they’re not even sure of the baby’s gender). But, I’ve been hearing, too, that Gwen gave birth today but have been waiting for official confirmation before making the call. This report seems about as likely as any other:

E! News has confirmed Gwen Stefani gave birth this morning. We still don’t know whether it’s a boy or girl, but sources say the baby’s name is Zuma. More details to come as we get them!

Zuma sounds like a girl’s name to me … if, in fact, that is the baby’s name. Much love and congrats goes out to Gwen and Gavin Rossdale. Stay tuned for more deets and, hopefully, an official statement from the couple.

UPDATE: People magazine has official confirmation that A.) Gwen gave birth and B.) Zuma is a boy:

It’s a rock band in the making: Gwen Stefani and her rocker husband Gavin Rossdale welcomed their second child, a son, on Thursday in Los Angeles, PEOPLE has learned. The couple named the boy Zuma Nesta Rock Rossdale, a rep for Stefani says. Zuma joins the couple’s other son Kingston, who turned 2 in May.

Yay! Much congrats!!! Oh and sorry ’bout that Zuma sounds like a girl thing … but, it kinda does :)

So says 'In Touch Weekly' magazine
Gwen Stefani To Give Birth Today

In Touch Weekly magazine is reporting that Gwen Stefani is going to give birth today. The mag reports that she was spotted making her way into Cedars-Sinai Medical Center (where her first child Kingston James was born in 2006) and is planning to deliver by way of c-section this morning. Here is a pic of Gwen making her way into the hospital for a check-up last week:

It’s D-Day — as in Delivery Day — for Gwen Stefani! The singer checked into Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and is scheduled to give birth via C-section at 10 a.m. PT. This will be the second child for Gwen, 38, and her husband Gavin Rossdale—and it’s in the same hospital where she gave birth to son Kingston, 2. “Gwen’s so excited to have this baby because she gained a lot of weight during this pregnancy,” her pal reveals to In Touch. “She is ready to meet her new baby and get her body back.”

The 10AM delivery time seems awfully specific but I suppose it’s totally feasible … even if she doesn’t give birth right at 10AM there is still a good chance that she’ll deliver sometime today — she seems way overdue to me. And, let’s not forget, that In Touch Weekly was the first magazine to report that Angelina Jolie gave birth to her twins on July 12th … which gives their report a bit more credence, I think. I just hope it’s true … Gwen needs to have that baby (those babies?) already. Watching her baby bump get so big is wearing me out ;)

UPDATE: Pink reader AJ gives me the head’s up that there is a strong possibility that Gwen did, indeed, give birth today but that she checked into the hospital last night … I guess at this point, all we have to do is wait for confirmation.

Livin' La Vida In Vitro
Ricky Martin Fathers A Set Of Twins

Ricky Martin just can’t let a big celeb trend pass him by, let alone two celeb trends … Martin has just revealed that not only is he a new celebrity parent but he is the celebrity parent of twin babies that were born by way of a surrogate mother. Like Clay Aiken before him (who fathered his own child after deciding to have a baby via artificial insemination with his much older friend Jaymes Foster), Ricky is now a new dad of twin baby boys:

Ricky Martin has become a father. The Latin heartthrob welcomed twin boys via a surrogate, his rep confirmed to Access Hollywood. “The children, delivered via gestational surrogacy, are healthy and already under Ricky’s full-time care,” a statement from Martin’s rep read. Martin is thrilled about the births and is stepping back from his duties as a bon-bon shaking celebrity to be a dad. “Ricky is elated to begin this new chapter in his life as a parent and will be spending the remainder of the year out of the public spotlight in order to spend time with his children,” the statement also noted. Martin is not expected to return to the studio until sometime next year, his rep told Access.

Well, now this is … odd … but happy news, I suppose. I seem to remember hearing that Ricky (who has been out of the spotlight for ages now, at least here in the US) had a girlfriend or was purporting to have a girlfriend/fiancée or something like that … yeah, whatever happened to her and why did he decide to have a child via surrogate. I suppose I can understand that he may have wanted to have children without the bother of having their natural mother to contend with in order to raise them on his own but … yeah, it’s odd, right? Surely this news will do nothing to cool down those rumors about his private life. In any event, congratulations goes out to Daddy Martin on the birth of his twin boys … I wish them all much happiness together.

Born at 08:08 on 08.08.08 = The End of Days
Clay Aiken Is A Father

Disturbing news out of North Carolina today … the day that pretty much everyone on Earth never thought would come — has come. Clay Aiken has become a father:

Clay Aiken became a father Friday morning with the birth of a baby boy, his mother told WRAL’s Lynda Loveland in an exclusive interview. Aiken’s best friend, producer Jaymes Foster, gave birth at 8:08 a.m. at an undisclosed location in North Carolina. Parker Foster Aiken weighed 6 pounds 2 ounces and was 19 inches long. Aiken’s mother, Faye, said the baby has dark hair and that her son is smiling from ear-to-ear. Mom, dad and baby all are doing fine. Aiken and Foster will raise the child together. They met when Aiken appeared on American Idol. Foster has produced several of his albums.

Um … not only is this disturbing news in absolutely every way possible but doesn’t this whole scenario sound exactly like the plotline on Will & Grace where they planned to have a baby and raise it together? Er, except that was fiction and this actually came to fruition … and now the apocalypse will prolly be upon us in no time. I suppose congrats are in order for the new parents … um, yeah, I’m sure that someone out there will be happy to give those congrats. I’ll be over here trying to keep the image of a Clay baby out of my brain.

It's a boy!
Mary Lynn Rajskub Gives Birth

Felicitations! It is my extreme pleasure to report that Mary Lynn Rajskub, the amazing actress who plays dour-mouthed Chloe O’Brien on 24, brought forth the precious fruit from her loins last Thursday … which she immediately named Valentine Anthony. Please join me in a resounding Woot! in celebration of her newborn bundle of joy:

24 star Mary Lynn Rajskub gave birth to a baby boy, Valentine Anthony, Thursday – almost two weeks after her due date, her rep Courtney Knittel confirms exclusively to PEOPLE. “It was like an episode of 24 with the clock ticking,” jokes Rajskub. Valentine, who weighed in at 9lbs., 5oz., is the first child for Rajskub, 37, and her boyfriend Matthew Rolph, 28, a physical trainer. The couple, who met while Rajskub was performing a stand-up comedy gig, disagreed over whether or not to find out the baby’s gender. Rajskub won. “I wanted it to be a surprise,” she says, “and Matthew wanted to find out” … Rajskub, who will return to TV in January for 24′s eighth season, says pregnancy has been, “scary and exciting,” especially given all the advice pals volunteer. “The closer I get to having this child,” she told PEOPLE at her baby shower in June, “the more I’m letting advice go in one ear and out the other. Everyone has their own thing.”

I just absolutely adore Mary Lynn Rajskub and I couldn’t be happier for her and Matthew. I hope she is able to enjoy this time with her baby and can rest up properly … so she can, once again, get back to kickin’ ass on 24 next season ;) Many congrats and much, much love! Welcome to the world, Valentine Anthony!!!

Christian Estrosi, the mayor of Nice, France, addressed the assembled press on the steps of the Fondation Lenval hospital this morning to officially announce the birth of Nice’s newest and most famous twins, Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Léon Jolie-Pitt who were born in his city yesterday. Mayor Estrosi showed off the birth certificates (les acte de naissance) to the press with excitement and pride:

They’re here, officially: On Sunday, Mayor Christian Estrosi of Nice, France, presented one of the birth certificates of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s twins on the steps of Nice’s Fondation Lenval hospital, where son Knox Léon and daughter Vivienne Marcheline were born Saturday. The typed certificate revealed that Knox was born at 6:27 p.m. on July 12. Sister Vivienne came within a minute of that time, Dr. Michel Sussmann tells PEOPLE. The mayor entered the hospital at 3:24 p.m. to oversee the signing, telling PEOPLE, “It’s a pride to Nice and all its citizens.” Knox is the 3,702 registered birth certificate in Nice for 2008. In welcoming the twins, Estrosi told reporters, “On behalf of the inhabitants of Nice, I congratulate the happy parents, the most famous couple of the world who have chosen our city for this happy event.”

Clearly, the Mayor of Nice is very excited to claim the Jolie-Pitt twins as his own. After the jump, check out a close up of Knox Léon‘s birth certificate …
