For the past week, as I’m sure y’all are well aware, a new writer named Melissa has been publishing blogposts here on Pink is the new Blog. For the most part, many of you have posted in the comments very nice and very supportive messages of welcome to Melissa … others have posted, well, less than nice and supportive comments. Because the addition of Melissa as a new voice to the blog is a big change, I expected commenters to be vocal about their opinions. And as with any change, a lot of knee jerk reaction has been “I hate it”. I wanted to give Melissa the benefit of a week of writing before I chimed in and blogged about her addition to the site. I am really excited to have her on board because I know that we are going to make a great team and I know we are going to achieve our goal of making Pink is the new Blog a more rounded, more enjoyable reading experience for all.

Over the years, artists like Ella Fitzgerald, Barry Manilow, Rufus Wainwright and others have put their spin on the song … this year, we get to hear a version of the song recorded by former co-stars and real life BFFs Zooey Deschanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Zooey uploaded video of the pair’s duet to You Tube, which you can watch in full below.

Former Charmed co-stars and real life BFFs Holly Marie Combs and Shannen Doherty shared a fun dinner date night together last week which Holly shared on her official Twitter profile. Last month, newly single Ashton Kutcher — who is getting divorced from his wife Demi Moore — made his way back to his childhood home in Iowa to enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday with his family and friends. For Xmas, Ashton made his way to Europe with other friends … including screenwriter Lorene Scafaria. Rumor has it that Ashton and Lorene have coupled up but it’s entirely possible that they are just friends. After all, Ashton wouldn’t really be interested in a new relationship so soon after the end of his last relationship … right?

I’m not sure what kind of gifts you like to exchange with your family and friends but undoubtedly many of you have received some pretty nice things over the years. This year, popstar Justin Bieber decided to give his childhood BFF Ryan Butler a pretty sweet Xmas gift that he very likely will not be returning this fine day after Xmas. On Wednesday we got to see some cute video of our dear Britney Spears dancing her buns off with a friend at her engagement party (which doubled as new finacée Jason Trawick‘s 40th birthday party) in Las Vegas, NV and today we get to check out a couple other goodies from that fun night. Popstar Miley Cyrus, who was born Destiny Hope Cyrus, celebrated her 19th birthday in Hollywood, CA this week in a lavish fete inside the Roosevelt Hotel that was thrown by Miley‘s BFF Kelly Osbourne. Miley‘s boyfriend Liam Hemsworth was in attendance as were friends like Rumer Willis and tiny entertainers … like a mini Nicki Minaj and a few Oopma Loompas. Yeah, sounds like a pretty standard 19th birthday party to me.
