The Most Stylish Athlete
Earlier today we learned that Britney Spears was in attendance at the IOC World Conference On Women And Sport — which is devoted to the advancement of female athletes — and right now we learn that one of our fave male athletes, David Beckham, was in attendance at a different sports award event. Becks and his youngest son Cruz David made an appearance at the 2nd Annual Cartoon Network Hall of Game Awards so that Becks could collect the Most Stylish Athlete award. Becks and his sons — Brooklyn Joseph, Romeo James and Cruz — also attended this weekend an LA Lakers basketball game at the Staples Center for a bit male bonding while Victoria and Harper Seven Beckham are in England for London Fashion Week. Yep, it’s been a bizzy weekend for the Beckham boys. More »
Miss Piggy Or The Tightrope?
The exciting lead up to the Oscars has definitely already begun. Feb 26 is just one week from now and we are seeing mentions of gowns and of course presenters and entertainers on the big night. The latest news is that Kermit and Miss Piggy will be presenting. There was a bit of a commotion after the producer of the main awards show decided to cut the Best Original Song performance segment (my fave part!), which would showcase The Muppets, so it seems they have been consoled by meeting them halfway. The Academy also announced yesterday that it is going to be making time for a brand-new performance from Cirque du Soleil. More »
Should Chris Brown Have Been At The Grammys?
When Chris Brown performed at the Grammys on Sunday he caused a bit of a stir because a lot of people are still very uncomfortable with him since the whole Rihanna beating incident. We heard a couple of weeks ago that he was on the performance list, and a lot of Pink readers were dismayed and disappointed. It didn’t help that last week we heard that Chris was told by the courts that needs to stay under the watchful eye of his probation officer as he completes the remainder of his sentence. When the RUMORS started a couple of weeks ago that Chris and Rihanna have been hooking up the past couple of months (none of which were ever confirmed) the comments out there sent a pretty clear message – ‘How could she? Once a hitter is always a hitter’. It seems to me that most people cannot forgive the unspeakable thing that Chris did to his then girlfriend (almost 3 years ago). A lot of people seemed to feel the same way about him being back on the Grammys stage. The Executive Producer explains why they invited Chris back… More »
"You Chew Me Up And Spit Me Up"
There have been a lot of Grammy stories today, as to be expected… and here is one more for ya. There are a few reports going around about Katy Perry’s performance last night because her new song (which was leaked a few months ago) seemed to be a direct reference to her divorce from Russell Brand. The song, and performance, did appear to be an empowerment anthem, in what was her first performance on TV since they split. Watch the performance again and notice the lyrics this time…it is a very timely release. Girl power or girl damaged? More »
Do You Predict Similar Results From The Academy Awards?
It has been all about the Grammy’s over here, but over in our European counterparts there has been another big awards show, The BAFTAS, which stands for The British Film and Television Arts Awards. These trophies were also handed out yesterday, and are a good predictor for which stars could take home the coveted Oscar trophies in just a couple of weeks. The big standout from the U.K. awards was clearly, The Artist, which had a whopping 12 nominations. We have come to expect this from the silent black-and-white film…. but will the Academy agree with all the hype? Last night they received Best Film, took home awards for best director, screenplay, cinematography, music and costume design. Leading man, Jean Dujardin, also nabbed the award for Leading Actor. Do you think this is what will happen come Oscar night? More »

Music Industry's Best Dressed
Last night’s Grammy Awards were understandably colored by the tragic death of our wonderful, Whitney Houston. Trent will continue to update us on this ongoing, and devastating, story. In the midst of all the darkness, as so many people pointed out on the red carpet and at the awards, there is still the need for lightness and color. What better way to celebrate color than by looking at who wore it best. Any award show is as much about celebrating talent as it is about praising fashion’s finest. Did you see what they wore and who looked the best? More »
Prayers & Song for Whitney
The 54th annual Grammy Awards were handed out in a lavish musical ceremony at the Los Angeles Convention Center in downtown LA on Sunday night and while the focus of the awards show was to hand out awards to the best musical performers of the last year, as decided on by Grammy voters, a portion of the night was devoted to the memory of the late Whitney Houston. Grammy Awards host LL Cool J opened the show with remarks that paid tribute to Whitney‘s life and legacy and he shared a personal prayer for and in her memory. Later on in the show, singer Jennifer Hudson performed a powerful rendition of I Will Always Love You in tribute to Whitney. We will hear more about the Grammy show itself a bit later on but, for now, let’s see how tribute was paid to Whitney Houston at Sunday night’s show. More »
