The 2011 Screen Actors Guild Awards Are Handed Out

The Usual Suspects

Last night the Screen Actors Guild Awards were handed out at The Shrine Auditorium here in Los Angeles, CA in the midst of awards season and, as you might expect, the same sort of folks who have been winning awards at previous award shows continued their streak last night. But, while it seemed like The Social Network was the film to beat for Best Picture, it’s becoming a bit more evident that The King’s Speech has taken the front-running position. Even still, films like Black Swan and The Fighter were honored as well. More »

Natalie Portman Has A Really Terrible Laugh

Like, Really Terrible

First, I must preface this entire post by saying that I LOVE Natalie Portman, she is my pick as the Best Actress at all the awards shows this season and I couldn’t be happier for all the success — both personal and professional — that she is enjoying these days. That being said, dear sweet Natalie (bless her soul) has one of THE most awkward and cringe-worthy laughs that I have had the misfortune to bear witness to on national television. During her acceptance speech last night at the 2011 Golden Globe Awards, Natalie tried to make a joke about how her fiancée wants to have sex with her (which is obvious due to the fact that she is pregs with his baby) and laughed so awkwardly, so terrifyingly at her own joke that it still haunts me today. Hollywood Foreign Press Association President Says Ricky Gervais ‘Crossed The Line’

"References to individuals [are] certainly not something the [we] condone"

Earlier today I posted amazingly funny video of Ricky Gervais‘s brilliant opening monologue as host of the 2011 Golden Globe Awards last night and mentioned that the comic is taking a bit of heat from the celebs he skewered on live television today. The Hollywood Reporter nabbed an interview with Philip Berk, the president of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (the ones who award the Golden Globes) and he has gone on the record to say that Gervais “definitely crossed the line” with the jokes he delivered last night. Which means, uh oh, Ricky Gervais is in trouble, y’all. More »
