We reported on the award winners already, and now for the fashion awards. I have to admit, I watch the red carpet more scrupulously sometimes than the presentations (is that bad?) Last night I was pretty impressed with the couture, there was a lot of color and also some stunning black numbers. Like always, there was some standouts for me. Read on for LOTS of glamor pics.

We have reported a bit about the goings on at Sundance in Park City (the dramas with Tracy Morgan and more) but today we have news about a film that is causing a bit of a stir because of its wonderful story and brilliant acting and writing. The nominations for the 84th annual Academy Awards were just announced here in Hollywood and while a lot of the films that have been getting lots of love at other awards shows also scored Oscar noms, there are a few surprises in this new crop of Academy Award nominations. The Artist, the film getting all of the buzz lately, managed to nab 10 nominations but the Martin Scorsese film Hugo (which has gotten almost NO buzz from the public at all) bested it with 11 nominations — including one for Best Picture. The new Oscar nomination rules that went into effect a few years ago make it possible for anywhere between 5 and 10 films to be nominated for Best Picture … this year, there are 9 films up for the biggest prize — The Artist, The Descendants, Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, The Help, Hugo, Midnight in Paris, Moneyball, The Tree of Life and War Horse. We have already been discussing Rihanna this morning because there is a rumor that she has been hooking up with her ex (and assaulter), Chris Brown… that rumor aside, we have some exciting news…Last week we reported that Rihanna may be performing on stage at The Grammy’s with Coldplay… Ri-Ri admitted that she was “waiting for the call” because she admires Chris Martin and would love to perform a duet with him. Today, we have CONFIRMATION that this duet is happening.

I just love these two… not only because they make a GORGEOUS couple, but the fact that they are both as HOT as each other, and now it seems we know that they each think the same of the other. Angeline Jolie reportedly told her hubby Brad Pitt at the Golden Globe after-party that she think he is “prettier than her.” Who do you think takes home the trophy for the prettiest of the Brangelina pair?

I just heard some AWFUL news that has really upset me… did you hear Peter Dinklage’s acceptance speech at the Golden Globes on Sunday? If you did… you would have probably also heard the cryptic reference to a “gentleman in England”. I didn’t know what this was referring to and didn’t take a lot of notice. Now, reports are out about what the secretive mention was referring to…

Yesterday we reported all about the Golden Globes and one of the big winners on the night was Michelle Williams. She is already hot property on the Hollywood A-list, and now she is just..well, SIZZLING on the cover of GQ. Check out the the February 2012 cover before it hits the news shelves next week…

Altho I received a few invites from some of my fave people on Earth, the lazy side of me won out and I ended up NOT going to any Golden Globes parties and just stayed home and watched the show from my couch. I ordered me some pizza, hot wings and cheesy bread … burrowed myself under my blankets and had a very enjoyable night of awards show watching fun.

Madonna wasn’t the only Golden Globe Award winner last night … a whole host of other folks were honored with awards in both film and television. The show itself, I gotta say, wasn’t nearly as entertaining as last year’s show. By all accounts, host Ricky Gervais did not perform as successfully this year as he did last year … and I think that fact had a huge impact on the show overall. A lot of my fave actors won this year (Jessica Lange, Meryl Streep, Madonna) as did some of my fave TV shows (Homeland, FTW!) … but I think the French silent film The Artist was the biggest winner of the night.
