Last week we learned the upsetting news that Lionsgate films is planning to remake the already perfect 2000 film American Psycho. Today we learn that author Bret Easton Ellis, who wrote the novel American Psycho, is in full support of the remake plan. Ellis not only knows who he wants to play the role of Psycho protagonist Patrick Bateman (ugh) but he has full faith in Nobel Jones, who will write and direct the new American Psycho. Read on.

Next week a new book will be released titled Dear Me: A Letter to my Sixteen-Year-Old Self that will compile a collection of letters written by famous people to their sixteen-year-old selves in an effort to inspire others. Last night I was able to meet one of the coolest women in Hollywood at a book-signing at Book Soup in West Hollywood, CA … none other than THE original Catwoman herself, Julie Newmar. As you may know, Julie was one of the actresses who famously played Catwoman in the Batman TV series of the 1960s (along with Eartha Kitt and Lee Merriweather). I’ve been a fan of her since I was a wee child … so when I learned she was doing an inperson booksigning, I had to go … and I had the BEST TIME EVER!!

Earlier this month, at NY Fashion Week, Courtney Love gave an impromptu interview where she talked about books (among other, very random things) and wouldn’t you know it … today we learn that Courtney has landed a publishing deal to WRITE her own book. According to the New York Times, C. Love will be penning a tell-all memoir (with a ghost writer, I’m assuming) in order to tell her side of her trainwreck of a life story. Interested? The memoir is due out next Fall.

Earlier this month we learned that Tom Hanks has teamed up with HBO to produce a 6-season TV series based on the amazing Neil Gaiman novel American Gods and last night, to promote the 10th anniversary of the American Gods novel, Gaiman was a guest on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. Last last week, author Stephen King spoke with Entertainment Weekly magazine about the talk going around about plans to remake the 1976 horror classic Carrie (based on his original novel). As you may know, Sissy Spacek played the role of Carrie in the classic original film but in new remarks to EW, King suggests that Lindsay Lohan might be the actress to play the new Carrie. Naturally, as soon as L. Lo found out she had King‘s endorsement, she reportedly got very interested in playing the role. Could it be? Could Lindsay Lohan become the new Carrie?

Last August we learned that the amazing Betty White was planning to write two new books and in May one of those books will be made available for sale. If You Ask Me (And of Course You Won’t), which was previously titled Listen!, will go on sale on May 21 and it will offer life lessons learned by Betty in her 89 years of life. First it was Mike The Situation Sorrentino, then it was Nicole Snooki Polizzi … now Jenni JWoww Farley has become the third published author to come from the hit MTV reality TV series Jersey Shore. JWoww, with the help of a ghost writer (who prolly wrote 98.4% of the book), will be releasing a book titled The Rules According to JWOWW: Shore-Tested Secrets on Landing a Mint Guy, Staying Fresh to Death, and Kicking the Competition to the Curb chock full of her “Shore-approved” dating tips early next month and today we get our first look at the book and our first read at the pearls of wisdom that are contained within.

Congratulations are in order for rock goddess Amanda Palmer and amazing author Neil Gaiman because they got themselves MARRIED in a private ceremony in San Francisco, CA Sunday night. As you may recall, the couple got engaged in January of 2010 so it looks like they wanted to celebrate their engagement anniversary by gettin’ hitched! Amanda shared the happy news (and a cute photo) on her official Twitter profile and Neil followed up with a post (and another photo) on his official blog.

Back in October we learned that MTV Jersey Shore star Mike The Situation Sorrentino became a published author with the release of his debut book Here’s the Situation: A Guide to Creeping on Chicks, Avoiding Grenades, and Getting in Your GTL on the Jersey Shore (available for purchase HERE).
