A Conversation With Anne & Christopher Rice

The TV Guide

Last night I had the extreme pleasure of attending an in-person discussion between authors Anne Rice and her son Christopher Rice at a book-signing for her new novel Prince Lestat. I was super excited to learn earlier this year that Anne would be writing about her beloved vampire characters again and when I found out that she would be appearing at a book-singing event here in LA, moderated by her son and my friend Christopher, I knew I had to be there. The authors conversed for about 45 minutes before questions were taken from the audience and then our books were signed. It was a really great night with a pair of really remarkable people. More »

More Alive!

The TV Guide

This month, Darion’s mother Janai Mestrovich published her latest book titled The Grandma Boom Chronicles: More Alive at 65! and she graciously sent me an early copy of the book for review. For the past few weeks, I have been spending as much time as possible reading her book and truly enjoying every word written. Janai is a mother first, yes, but she is also an adept educator and author and getting to see the scholastic side to her personality by reading her words has been a delight. I am nearly finished with the book but last night, I spent a bit of time engaged in More Alive at 65! and I feel compelled to share some of my lurve for the book with all of you today. More »

Anne Rice’s ‘The Vampire Chronicles’ Book Series Will Be Adapted As New Films

Undead

Back in March we learned the happy news that author Anne Rice has decided to resume her Vampire Chronicles book series with the release of a new novel titled Prince Lestat which is set for release later this year. Yesterday, Universal Pictures announced that they have optioned all of the books in The Vampire Chronicles to be adapted into new films. As you may know, Anne‘s first book in the series, Interview with the Vampire, was adapted into a hugely successful film back in 1994 with Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt starring (a really subpar sequel titled Queen of the Damned was released in 2002). 20 years later, Universal feels like its time to reboot the franchise. Even more exciting, Anne‘s son Christopher Rice wrote the screenplay for the Vampire Chronicles book Tale of the Body Thief and Universal purchased the rights to his screenplay! Lots of great news for the Rice family today. More »

Apparently, she's hoping to hire E.L. James

Back in December of last year, we first learned that Lindsay Lohan was lookin’ to score a book deal so that she could publish a tell-all memoir.
