Author Neil Gaiman Will Write Episodes Of The Starz Original Series ‘American Gods’

“It’s wonderful to be working with Neil Gaiman.”

After we learned earlier this month that Starz officially picked up the TV series adaptation of Neil Gaiman‘s novel American Gods, we got to see some fun concept art for the show. Today we learn from producer Bryan Fuller the very good news that Gaiman himself will write some of the episodes of American Gods. According to Fuller, the first two episode scripts have already been written (tho it’s unclear if Gaiman wrote them). Moving forward, Neil will not only help shape the scope of the series with his writing but, I’m sure, he will also be on hand to consult with the actual production. OMG, this is all so exciting! Starz Will Officially Produce Neil Gaiman’s ‘American Gods’ TV Series Adaptation

A home at last

At long last, the television series adaptation of Neil Gaiman‘s novel American Gods has found a TV home. You may or may not recall that back in 2011, we first learned that HBO was interested in turning American Gods into a TV series, shortly thereafter it was reported that Tom Hanks‘s production company was interested in adapting the series for HBO … then we heard nothing. In February of 2014 we got an update that plans were still in the works for Gods to be turned into a TV series but it would not be on HBO and, therefore, would not be produced by Hanks‘s company. In July of last year, we first heard that Starz (which also produces Outlander and Power) was interested in taking on the series … and today, they’ve officially confirmed that they have picked up the series. The TV version of American Gods will be coming to Starz and I couldn’t be more thrilled. More »
