Last month we learned that Disney is planning the theatrical re-release of some of their most beloved animated films and among those re-releases will be the Academy Award-nominated film Beauty and the Beast. Beauty will be released in theaters in 3D next January and today we get to see the first poster artwork released to promote the film. Check it out below.

David Beckham already has a legion of soccer fans and a legion of pop culture fans … but it would seem that he is now going after the kiddie market. Becks appeared this week as a guest on the Disney Channel TV show Take Two with Phineas and Ferb where he was interviewed by two animated characters. Needless to say, the show turned really cute … and you can see it for yourself in full below.

Back in February of this year MTV announced that they will be airing NEW episodes of the hit 90′s animated series Beavis & Butt-Head. Today, we get our first look at the trailer for the show’s return. As you might imagine, the shizz is HILARIOUS! Don’t believe me? Watch the trailer in full below.

Back in June, Disney announced that they would be rereleasing the animated film The Lion King in 3D in theaters and based on the enormous success of that endeavor, the film company has decided to rerelease more animated films in 3D in theaters. In 2012, we will get 3D versions of Beauty and the Beast and Finding Nemo In 2013, we’ll get Monster’s Inc. and The Little Mermaid. Back in July we got the AMAZING news that Jem and the Holograms: The COMPLETE Series was coming to DVD this Fall and yesterday I was THRILLED to find a promo copy of the DVD boxset was sitting in my mailbox. Now, the set won’t be released for about 3 weeks but it is coming … and it is truly TRULY OUTRAGEOUS!!

At the Disney D23 convention here in SoCal yesterday, Disney and Pixar Chief Creative Officer John Lasseter announced that Pixar is working on two new animated films … both untitled but one based on dinosaurs and the other movie based on the inner workings of the brain. HMMM. In the hands of Pixar magicians, both of these films should be very interesting, don’t you think?

Every year, The Simpsons airs an amazingly entertaining Halloween episode titled Treehouse of Terror that usually pays homage to famous (and infamous) horror films, TV shows, characters, etc. This year, The Simpsons will be paying homage to the brilliant Showtime TV series Dexter. In the video below, you will see Ned Flanders doing his best Dexter Morgan impersonation as he spoofs the opening sequence of the show Dexter. It’s really cute … check it out in full below.

In June of 2010, we learned that a new animated series based on the original 80′s cartoon Voltron: Defender of the Universe was going into production. This week, at 2011 San Diego Comic-Con it was announced that a live-action film is also being planned. It is not yet known when the Voltron movie will hit theaters but I am very intrigued by the notion of a live-action movie about robotic lions that merge to form a giant robot defender … aren’t you?

Back in May we learned the amazing news that re-runs of the classic 80′s cartoon Jem and the Holograms were coming back to TV … but today, I’ve got even more outrageous news! The entire series will be released on DVD in October. A few years ago, Rhino Video attempted to release Jem on DVD but they never got around to releasing the final 3rd season and then lost control of the license. At last, the entire series will be released on DVD in a new Truly Outrageous Complete Series! DVD set. Read on for all the deets.

While promoting his new film Larry Crowne, which held its Hollywood premiere here in LA last night, Tom Hanks dished to the BBC that Pixar is “working … now” on the sequel film Toy Story 4. As you may recall, Toy Story 3 was a HUGE hit last year and just last weekend, the animated short Toy Story: Hawaiian Vacation debuted in front of showings of Cars 2 in theaters. Clearly, there is still very much interest in the Toy Story characters … and where there’s interest, there’s money … and where there’s money, there are movie sequels.
