Season 3, Episode 16
Sadly, Shannon cannot write today’s Scandal recap of last night’s episode The Fluffer because she’s too busy having THE BEST TIME EVER with visiting family … but I am going to attempt to try and do her Scandal recaps justice with a recap of my own. I’m not entirely unschooled in the art of TV show recapping. Once upon a time, I used to recap 24 on a weekly basis here on the blog (and I’m thinking about recapping the upcoming new season of 24: Live Another Day when it debuts next month). So, I present to you my humble recap of last night’s episode of Scandal below. Obvs, there are spoilers for those of you who haven’t watched last night’s ep yet so proceed with caution. OMFG, Yasss Ma’am last night’s ep of Scandal was fun as Hell to watch. It was actually THE BOMB! More »

The Animated Gifs
It seems like forever ago that we learned that Kerry Washington is pregnant with her first child and even tho she had a baby shower way back in February, she still has yet to bring forth the fruit of her loins. And while ABC decided to cut back on the production of her hit drama Scandal to give the pregs star some breathing room, the show must go on and Kerry did have to work a bit thru her pregnancy in recent months. PITNB reader Toby pointed me in the direction of a BRILLIANT article written by TV Guide that shows some of the absolutely ridiculous ways that Scandal producers have tried to hide Kerry‘s growing baby bump on the show … and they did so by providing animated gifs. Click below to see a selection of TV Guide‘s animated gifs from various recent episodes of Scandal to see how hilariously the show has tried to hide Kerry‘s bump. More »
"Thank You! Much Love"
On Friday we got to see video of Beyoncé having an ugly cry as she performed the last song on the final performance of her year-long Mrs. Carter Show World Tour on Thursday night. Today, we learn that she has unleashed a bunch of behind the scenes photos that were snapped on her last night of the tour and you can see some of them in the gallery presented here. Bey has also released a Goodbye and Thank You video for fans as she puts the Mrs. Carter Show World Tour to bed for good. Check out the video below as we Peace the Spork Out one of the greatest pop music concerts that I have ever seen in my life.
Beyoncé ended her year long Mrs. Carter Show World Tour in Lisbon last night after she performed 132 shows and as you can see in the video embedded above, she was experiencing a lot of feelings as she said goodbye to her fans last night. As Bey bid adieu to her hugely successful concert tour, she was overcome to the point where she busted out into an ugly, ugly cry. But, you know, even when Bey ugly cries, she looks utterly fabulous. And, let’s be honest, her ugly cry doesn’t even come close to the way that Claire Danes ugly cries on Homeland so …
Thank you for an amazing tour, Beyoncé
! Can’t wait to have you back on the road again in a couple of years :)
She ain't wrong
LOL. Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark on the HBO series, sat down for an interview with The Sunday Times and she expressed in a very casual way that it is her belief that pop star Justin Bieber is the “Joffrey Baratheon of our time“. She is, of course, referring to the character from Game of Thrones, played by Jack Gleeson, who is an evil, vile, ruthless, spoiled brat of a little dick on the show (and in the book series, for that matter). I don’t get the sense that Turner was trying to be nasty with her comment, she appears to have said to so matter-of-factly, that I think she was just speaking her mind. Haha. More »
From the Director of 'G.I. Joe: Retaliation'
For years there has been talk about adapting the 1980′s cartoon Jem and the Holograms into a live-action film. Back in the early 00s, it was rumored that the young popstars of the day (Britney Spears, Hilary Duff, Lindsay Lohan, etc.) might come together to star in a Jem movie but nothing ever came from that talk. Today we learn officially that plans are now in the works to bring Jem and the Holograms to life on the big screen … which is good news, for the most part. Scooter Braun, Justin Bieber‘s manager, has teamed up with director Jon M. Chu (G.I. Joe: Retaliation) and Jason Blum for this Jem movie project and they are putting out the call for creative help in putting together this movie. As much as I would love to see a Jem movie come to life, there is something very cheap and rushed-looking about this announcement. I’m also a bit concerned about 3 straight men coming together to make a Jem movie. But, it looks like this is the real deal. I do like that the plan is to take into consideration fan input sooo, that’s a positive. Click the video embed above to see this Jem movie announcement and see what you think. More »
Whatever! Iggy & Charli get 'Fancy'
Sooo, rapper Iggy Azalea has released a music video for her song Fancy, which features Charli XCX on guest vocals, and as you can see in the video embedded above, it is probably the best music video that has ever been made in the history of music videos. Iggy pays BRILLIANT homage to the 1995 movie Clueless with this music video and I totally love it entirely … despite the fact that the song kinda bugs the ish out of me. Full disclosure: I’m not a huge Iggy Azalea fan. The way she enunciates her lyrics irritates me to no end. But, that being said, having watched this music video about 45 times already, I guess I have to confess that the song is growing on me (due in large part to the fact that I love Charli XCX). Whether or not you love the song, you have to watch this video in full — put it on mute if you have to. Iggy‘s tribute to Clueless is only everything. Please enjoy (I know you will).
The END is SURELY Nigh
Each year, Time magazine selects who they deem to be the most influential person of the year as their honored Person of the Year and this year’s honoree is about to be selected. Time allows the public to vote on who they think the Person of the Year should be but, in the end, the final decision is up to the magazine editors … which is a good thing because Miley Cyrus is in the lead for the Person of the Year title for 2013 in the online poll. Miley Cyrus closed out the 2013 American Music Awards last night with a performance of her hugely successful ballad Wrecking Ball. As such, fans and critics were anxiously awaiting Miley‘s appearance on stage to cheer on/critique whatever performance she had cooked up for the event. Very smartly, Miley decided not to go for an over-the-top performance, choosing instead to deliver a rendition of the song that was fairly straightforward (even down to the 1000% completely fake attempt at crying near the end of the song). There was no twerking, Miley‘s tongue stayed in her mouth, all was good. The highlight of Miley‘s performance, tho, was the projection of a huge, extremely cute animated cat lip-syncing the lyrics along with her while she performed. Cats = the Internet … and Miley understands her target audience. Click the embed above to watch Miley (and her kitteh) perform Wrecking Ball at the AMAs last night and see what the influence of animated cat gifs on the Internets has brought to bear. Then click below to see a really supercute animated gif of Miley‘s cat looking so adorable that you will cry. More »
