No Misfits, No Synergy, No Jemstar Earrings?!
Ugh. Remember last week how we heard that the upcoming live-action movie based on the Jem and the Holograms cartoon is rumored to NOT feature the rival band The Misfits? Well, today we hear more troubling rumors about the movie that makes it sound like this Jem movie is going to really disappoint fans of the original show. Apparently, the movie will not feature Synergy or the Jemstar Earrings, which means that the whole hologram thing about the original story won’t even exist in this new movie. Oh and by the way, the movie has already finished filming. The movie wrapped last week … after only a month of shooting. It sounds to me like the plan was to rush production of a Jem movie in an attempt to make a quick buck … which only totally sucks entirely. More »
Back in March, Lady Gaga garnered a lot of attention when she invited performance artist Mille Brown to “puke” green paint on her during her performance at the South by Southwest Music Festival in Austin, TX. It would appear that pop star Katy Perry is among the folks who paid MOST attention to Gaga and Millie‘s performance because she decided to incorporate the puking of green paint into her just-launched Prismatic World Tour show. HMMM. Have a look below at the dueling puking pop stars and see if it all looks familiar to you. More »
Jack Is Back AT LAST
One of my all-time favorite TV shows returned after 4 years off the air last night with the 2-hour season premiere episode of a new 12-episode limited season of the show titled 24: Live Another Day. As you may have noticed over the past few months, I have been anxiously waiting the return of 24 and last night, the new season finally debuted. For the most part, things picked up right where they left off 4 years ago. The split-screen action that we know and love felt comfortable and stars Kiefer Sutherland and Mary Lynn Rajskub stepped right back into the characters of Jack Bauer and Chloe O’Brian as if no time had passed at all. This new season brings us a new day of action, told over the course of 12 episodes so let’s recap what went down in last night’s 2-hour season premiere episode. More »
Channeling his inner Britney Spears
Neil Patrick Harris is featured in the new issue of Vanity Fair magazine wearing a pair of snakes in a photograph shot by Annie Leibovitz. CLEARLY, NPH wanted to use the opportunity to channel his inner Britney Spears for this new VF photo and, to be honest, the photo is kinda hot. That said, Britney Spears is still the QUEEN of wearing snakes ever since she wore that yellow python during her I’m A Slave 4 U performance at the MTV Video Music Awards all those years ago. Click below to see Neil‘s new snake photo and you determine how it compares to our dear Britney‘s original look. More »

And he did so SHIRTLESS
Praise BE to the voting academy responsible for handing out the MTV Movie Awards this year because they have RIGHTLY selected actor Zac Efron as the recipient of this year’s award for Best Shirtless Performance for his work in That Awkward Moment. After he was handed his Golden Popcorn trophy, presenter Rita Ora ripped off Zac‘s shirt as he accepted his award. Click the video above to see Zac Efron go shirtless after he was awarded the 2015 MTV Movie Award trophy for Best Shirtless Performance. Then click below to be mesmerized by shirtless Zac flexing for your enjoyment. More »
Variety is reporting today that CBS has selected Stephen Colbert to replace David Letterman as the host of The Late Show when Letterman retires from the show next year. As you may recall, Colbert‘s name was the first to be mentioned as a possible replacement when Letterman made his surprise retirement announcement last week. Since then, a bunch of other names have been tossed around but it sounds like CBS was pretty set on their replacement selection from the start. More »
The TV Guide
Last night I was invited to an early screening of the new Zac Efron/Seth Rogen movie Neighbors which I thought looked pretty funny in the first red band trailer that we saw last September. But, because the movie doesn’t come out until May, I can’t really talk about the movie or give a review just yet. I think it’s safe for me to say, tho, that I enjoyed myself last night and I’m glad I was able to see the movie early because I now have the opportunity to recommend that all y’all see the movie, too, when it opens in theaters on May 9. Season 3, Episode 16
Sadly, Shannon cannot write today’s Scandal recap of last night’s episode The Fluffer because she’s too busy having THE BEST TIME EVER with visiting family … but I am going to attempt to try and do her Scandal recaps justice with a recap of my own. I’m not entirely unschooled in the art of TV show recapping. Once upon a time, I used to recap 24 on a weekly basis here on the blog (and I’m thinking about recapping the upcoming new season of 24: Live Another Day when it debuts next month). So, I present to you my humble recap of last night’s episode of Scandal below. Obvs, there are spoilers for those of you who haven’t watched last night’s ep yet so proceed with caution. OMFG, Yasss Ma’am last night’s ep of Scandal was fun as Hell to watch. It was actually THE BOMB! More »
