"Batman and Superman are gonna fight! I’m so excited!"
Director Joss Whedon sat down for a series of interviews to promote his new film The Avengers: Age of Ultron and was asked his feelings about the trailer for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice which was released last weekend. After he manages to tie his answer in to talk a bit about Age of Ultron, Joss lets his inner geek come out and play. As you can see below, Whedon is interested by the themes that will be explored in Dawn of Justice … and he’s really, really excited to see Batman and Superman fight — just like the rest of us. "What a trick, man"
Thus far, the promo leading up to the theatrical release of The Avengers: Age of Ultron has been lots of fun … with photos, videos, red carpet premieres, etc. Today we learn that the promo for Ultron has taken a turn for the very disappointing … heartbreaking actually. Chris Evans (Captain America) and Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye) sat down to talk about the movie and when they were asked a specific question about the Black Widow character (played by Scarlett Johansson), they refer to her as a “slut” a “whore” and a “total trick” while busting out in laughter. Undoubtedly, there will be many people out there who think the guys were just joking around, that they weren’t being serious but IMHO the ease with which both Evans and Renner throw around misogynistic slurs like “slut” and “whore” for comedic value only highlights our culture’s desperate need for more feminist thought — particularly from our “hallowed” actors — especially those that portray superheroes. Click below to watch video of this interview and see what you think. UPDATE: Both actors have released “apologies” via their publicists, which you can read below. More »
Is she being shady or clueless?
Bwahahahaha!!! So earlier this week, Jay Z culled together the biggest stars in the music industry — from Madonna to Daft Punk, Beyoncé to Jack White and all sorts of music superstars in between — to publicly announce the launch of his new music streaming service TIDAL. In the interview embedded above, Jennifer Lopez tells a reporter for the Associated Press that she never even heard of TIDAL when asked her thoughts on the service. LOL. Now, it’s not entirely clear if J. Lo is just being shady and is not wanting to comment on TIDAL because she wasn’t included in the megasuperstar press conference this week OR if she truly has no idea that TIDAL even exists but in either instance, she deffo appears annoyed at having been asked the question and being put on the spot. Watch the cringe-worthy video above and see what you think. Shady or clueless or what?

"F*ck you, Slater"
A few days ago we learned from Ryan Reynolds himself that he was hopeful that the upcoming Deadpool movie would be rated R so that the spirit of the comic book would be preserved in the movie version and yesterday, he confirmed officially that Deadpool WILL be rated R. Ryan was a guest on Extra! yesterday to promote the Deadpool movie and, as you can see above at about the :50 minute mark of this clip, host Mario Lopez was used to make the movie’s rating announcement. If you’ve ever wanted to see Mario Lopez get smashed with a massive piece of lighting equipment by Deadpool, then this video is for you. Please enjoy, I know I did.
THIS IS SO AMAZING! OMG!!!
A few months ago, I blogged about seeing Jenny Lewis a couple of times in concert here in LA when she toured with Ryan Adams on his tour and today I have fun new Jenny Lewis news to share. Jenny has been teasing the forthcoming release of the music video for her song She’s Not Me and as you can see below, she is planning to spoof her famous guest starring stint on The Golden Girls when she was a child actor. Jenny played a little Sunshine Cadet named Daisy that held Rose‘s teddy bear Fernando hostage. In Jenny‘s music video, she will spoof her GG role with a little help from actor Fred Armisen. OMG. She's still not that innocent
It’s hard to believe but Britney Spears‘s music video for Oops!… I Did It Again was released 15 years ago today back in 2000. Oops!, as you may know, was the first single from Britney‘s second album of the same name and was world premiered on an episode of Making The Video on MTV (remember that show?). I distinctly remember watching the show with my BFF Sarah back home in Michigan and altho I was already a big Britney fan, the Oops! video won me over completely. Sarah and I saw our first Britney Spears concert (from the front row!) when she launched her Oops!… I Did It Again Tour and I’ve never looked back … well, until now. It’s crazy to think that 15 years has passed since Britney squeezed into her red rubber bodysuit and took us to Mars but watching the video again (for the umpteenth millionth time) today, it’s easy to see how our dear Britney Spears became one of the biggest pop stars on the planet. Happy Birthday, Oops!
Taylor Swift, the reigning pop star of the moment, has apparently grown tired of being photographed by paparazzi photographers because she has come up with a brilliant way to avoid being photographed by said photographers. While making her way out of the home of a friend here in LA to her waiting car, Taylor utilized her new method of avoid being photographed expertly. Check out the video above to see how she does it. Ingenious, no?

Taylor Swift LOVED Kanye's performance
Last year, a snippet of Kanye West‘s new song All Day made the rounds online but tonight at the 2015 BRIT Awards, he debuted the song in full with a fiery live performance. Like Madonna and Taylor Swift, Kanye was one of the featured performers on the BRITs tonight and as you can see above, he delivered a really fantastic performance. I have to admit, I like this performance a lot … and I really love the song. And it would appear that I am not alone. Taylor Swift, Kanye‘s new BFF, also enjoyed his performance at The BRIT Awards tonight … click below to see just how much she enjoyed Kanye‘s live performance of All Day. More »
"I'm not a homophobic but that gay couple just ruined The Walking Dead"
AMC introduced a pair of gay characters on The Walking Dead this past Sunday night who showed their love and affection for one another when they shared a kiss on screen. Aaron and his parter Eric are characters introduced in The Walking Dead comic book series years ago so it is really great that after 5 1/2 seasons, the TV series has finally introduced them to the show. But, while many people, like me, were happy to see these gay characters share a kiss on TV, a bunch of homophobic idiots took to Twitter to voice their displeasure. A collection of the more colorful, yet horribly offensive and NSFW Twitter comments are collected below in order to bring attention to the fact that homophobic hatred continues to thrive despite the huge strides our culture has taken toward the progression of equal treatment of all people.
