Yesterday David and I make a LONG overdue trek down to Anaheim, CA to spend the late afternoon/evening at Disneyland. The last time we went to Disney was last July for my birthday … far too long ago. This time, we just wanted to go hang out for a bit … ride some rides, eat some junk, just play together. We didn’t spend anytime in California Adventure. With all the construction going on over there, we decided to just spend our time in Disneyland itself.

After spending most of my week reading about the life of Walt Disney, and since we haven’t been to the park since my birthday LAST JULY, David and I have decided to head on down to Anaheim, CA to spend some time at Disneyland. We don’t normally go so long between visits but we’ve been so bizzy in the past few months that we very sadly missed out on visiting Disneyland for HalloweenTime and For Xmas. BUT, the time is finally right … the weather will be sunny and gorgeous today so … off to Disney we go!

In June of 2010, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park opened for business at Universal Studios in Orlando, FL … to massive success. In the wake of that success, the decision has been made to open a second Wizarding World theme park at Universal Studios in Hollywood, CA. Altho the park won’t be operational until 2015, Harry Potter fans on the West Coast of the US (like me) now have a new exciting theme park to look forward to! Yesterday was a really bizzy but REALLY fun day. Last night was the annual Out on the Mountain private party for GLBT folks and their friends at Six Flags Magic Mountain so David and I made SURE that were available to attend. But, before we met up with our friends Darion and Sebastian for the night’s festivities, I was greeted by the UPS man with a delivery from Hill Valley, CA … from the year 2015! Yeah, remember those Back to the Future II special edition Nike Air Mag sneakers that were teased a few weeks ago? Yep, I managed to snag me a pair … which I may likely NEVER wear, like, ever.

Tonight is the annual Out on the Mountain special night at Six Flags Magic Mountain where the park closes for GLBT folks and their friends. I missed out on going last year but David and I are really excited to go tonight! We’ve been talking about going to Six Flags all Summer but it never worked out. Tonight is our night, tho! It’s gonna be a blast!!

After spending an amazing night with an amazing group of friends on Monday night, I spent my actual birthday yesterday with David at Disneyland. I had so much fun at Disney last year that I wanted to recreate that magic this year … and we did … in spades. I really had a fantastic birthday … mostly due to being able to spend it with David, my real life Prince Charming :)

Yesterday afternoon, David and I met up with our good friends Jim and Derek for a double date at Disneyland and we had THE best time ever! Because Derek is a bona fide Disney expert, we made optimum use of our time at both California Adventure and Disneyland and we managed to do all of the things we wanted to do. We started our day at California Adventure and then park hopped over the Disneyland to end our perfect day. We got to do a few things that I have never done before … and it made all the difference in the world.

On Monday David and I went to Disneyland to celebrate our dear friend Ollie’s birthday but it looks like we weren’t the only ones to enjoy a fun day at Disney this week. Darth Vader, with a pair of storm troopers by his side, paid a visit to the Happiest Place on Earth to check out the new Star Wars Star Tours ride … but before he rode Star Tours, he did a few other fun things at the park. Yesterday, in celebration of Ollie’s birthday, David and I made the trek down to Anaheim, CA to meet up with Ollie, Tamar, Caleb and Rob at Disneyland to spend the afternoon/evening/night enjoying all the fun of Disney together. After a quick bite to eat at Tortilla Jo’s, we hit both Disneyland and California Adventure and tried to ride as many rides as possible. We had an absolute blast. The world premiere of the new Disney action film Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides took place on Main Street inside Disneyland in Anaheim, CA last night and a veritable who’s who of big name celebs were in the hizzy for the main event. Among the biggest stars in attendance was Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Donald Duck and others. Oh yeah, there were some Hollywood celebs at the event as well.
