Feast Of Friends

The TV Guide

Yesterday turned out to be a really fun Sunday Funday with the early party of my day spent with my friends at Disneyland and the latter part of my day spent with Darion and his mom Janai, who was passing through LA on her way home to Oregon. As per usual, Disney was fun because I got to spend time with my Sons of Anakin SC peeps in the Happiest Place on EarthTM. Dinner last night was great because any time I get to spend with Janai is truly special so … yeah, Sunday was a good one for the record books. More »

The Avengers Half Marathon: Age Of Ultrent

The TV Guide

Welp, I did it … another half marathon in the books. Earlier this morning (WAY earlier) I woke up to run the inaugural Avengers Super Heroes Half Marathon at Disneyland and I had a really fun time … well, mostly a really fun time. The Santa Ana winds were so intense this morning tho that the race was much more challenging than I was expecting. I probably inhaled about 5 pounds of blowing dirt and I surely got wind debris in all of my exposed orifices but the wind did keep the temps very cool and that helped make the run not hot and miserable so … it all evened out. Guess what … I have photos to share below, if you’re interested ;) More »

Avengers Assemble . . . For The Inaugural Avengers 5K At Disneyland

The TV Guide

So, yeah, I had myself quite a busy past 24 hours … in that time, I made my way down to Anaheim, CA to pick up my race materials for the inaugural Avengers Half Marathon Weekend at Disneyland, I checked into my cheapie hotel, I met up and hung out with my BFFs Darion and Courtney at Disneyland and I ran the inaugural Avengers Super Heroes 5K Race … and it ain’t even noon yet. All of these things were very fun — especially the 5K which was the funnest 5K race I’ve run to date. I have a lot of photos to share, I hope you like :D More »

It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Xmas

The TV Guide

After a 3 week hiatus (which seemed like a 3 year exile), I was able to get back to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure to spend the day with my friends in our Sons of Anakin social club. The parks were really busy because ABC was filming holiday specials in both parks so the craziness that usually comes from Sundays was heightened by the filming crews all over the place … but lots of fun was had, nonetheless. Miler Mornings, Horror Nights

The TV Guide

With one week left to go before I run the New York Marathon next weekend, I had one last race to run here in SoCal ahead of my big race. I made my way down to Huntington Beach, CA for the Surf City 10 Miler race early yesterday morning for one last long run along the Pacific Ocean. The rest of my day was spent recovering on the couch … and it was glorious. Last night, I was invited by a group of friends to attend Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios and even tho I hate hate HATE haunted houses, I bit the bullet for last night’s event and had a super fun, thankfully not-too-scary night with some great friends. Mickey’s Halloween Party

The TV Guide

Last night I met up with my friend Gillian and her little girl Gemma at Disneyland for Mickey’s Halloween Party and we had so much fun. I’ve never been to any of the ticketed Halloween parties at Disneyland over the years (primarily because I never saw the point to paying extra to attend a function at the theme park on top of what I already pay for my Annual Pass). But, since I’ve been in a crazy Disney way this year, I figured … yes, I must go. The party is the only time Disney allows everyone to wear costumes in the park and they provide free candy, character meet and greets and entertainment that is exclusive to this event so it was all very new for me. Gillian dressed up as Alice, Gemma dressed up as Merida and I dressed up as Anakin Skywalker (just before he turned into Darth Vader) and we had a blast. More »

It Was An Accident, I Swear

The TV Guide

So, you’re probably not going to believe this (and I wouldn’t blame you if you didn’t) but I swear, I accidentally went to Disneyland last night. I know, I know … crazy, I know. BUT, I had to run an errand in the Anaheim area and I had been putting it off for too long. I had a free night, traffic was light due to the holiday so I make the trek down. HONESTLY, I didn’t even plan on going into the theme park … but I did plan a trip through Downtown Disney to grab a drink at Starbucks and look for a particular pin that I’ve been looking for (yes, a Disney pin … YES, I realize I’ve finally become one of “those” people) and … well … I couldn’t resist and I kinda stumbled my way into the park. Happy 4th Birthday Audrey, Happy 55th Birthday ‘Sleeping Beauty’

The TV Guide

I’m quite certain that it will come as absolutely no surprise to any out there AT ALL to learn that I spent my evening/night at Disneyland … but I promise, I had a really good reason for being there. Two great reasons, actually. First, my friends Genevieve and Charlie’s daughter Audrey turned 4 years old yesterday and, as it their tradition, they took her to Disneyland for her special day. Second, Disney hosted a special screening of Sleeping Beauty in the park for Annual Passport holders in honor of the 55th anniversary of the film’s release as well as the film’s re-release on DVD. So, you see, there was really no way I could miss either of these major events. More »

Welcome To The Fold

The TV Guide

Yesterday was the second day of Gay Days weekend at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure in Anaheim, CA and, unsurprisingly, I was in attendance. Yesterday’s visit to the parks was extra special because it was my friend Genevieve’s first day wearing her vest for the Disneyland social club she just joined. Because it was her first day as a patched member of The White Rabbits social club, she wanted me to hang out with her in the parks and I was happy to oblige. Gen’s patent husband Charlie and her adorable daughter Audrey hung out with us all day, into the night. We had a blast. More »

Happy 100th

The TV Guide

As I mentioned yesterday, it is Gay Days weekend at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure and since yesterday was my 100th visit to the parks, I simply had to brave the 100+ temps and get my buns down to Anaheim, CA (NOT that I ever really need a reason to go to Disneyland but …). I am happy to share that I enjoyed a really great day with all the gays in Disneyland as well as a group of friends from the Mickey’s Empire social club. After my fun-filled day, I met up with my good friend Josh Rosebrook for a sushi dinner date/hang sesh … and I managed not to melt to death, so, yay! More »
