Patched In, Pigged Out

The TV Guide

Yesterday was a pretty great Sunday Funday. The early part of the day was spent at Disneyland with my Sons of Anakin peeps, where we voted and patched in our friend Alex as our newest member. After a fun afternoon of play in the park (and another ride on The Haunted Mansion to get another look at the Hatbox Ghost), we decided to have dinner offsite at the INFINITELY amazing Korean BBQ place Mr. BBQ. Lorde have mercy, we ate and ate and ate and ate … and ate some more. We weren’t satisfied until the night ended in meat sweats. It was divine. More »

The Hatbox Ghost Returns To The Haunted Mansion

The TV Guide

Longtime Disneyland fans are well aware of the legend of the Hatbox Ghost, one of the ghosts that was created for the Haunted Mansion ride in Disneyland that disappeared shortly after the attraction opened in 1969. According to the story, the Hatbox Ghost was only in the Haunted Mansion ride for a few weeks before it was removed because the creators couldn’t get it to work properly. This weekend, for the first time since 1969, the Hatbox Ghost made his return to the Haunted Mansion ride. I have been waiting for his return for years so, I’m sure you can imagine, I was very excited to ride the Haunted Mansion yesterday so that I could see the Hatbox Ghost in person … again and again and again. Off To Never Land

The TV Guide

Earlier this morning, at about 3:30 AM, I woke from my restful slumber to get dressed and ready to run the Never Land 5K race at Disneyland today … and boy am I tired. Well, not really, but I am tiny bit beat. I had almost forgotten that I signed up to run this 5K race at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure but, thankfully, they’re really good about sending email reminders. The Tinkerbell 10K and Half Marathon are also taking place this weekend but this time, I only wanted to run the 5K … and I’m glad that I did because it was a lot of fun. More »

A Long Overdue Disney Date

The TV Guide

After a few weeks of circumstances keeping me from getting down to Anaheim, CA to play in Disneyland, I finally found the time yesterday to get my buns down to Orange County so that I could get my Disney fix. It had been almost a month since my last visit (which, to normal people, still sounds extreme but to Disney freaks in social clubs, it’s practically a lifetime) and because my plans tonight with Darion and Omar are hindering my usual Sunday visit today, I knew I had to get to the park yesterday. I met up with my friend Elena for a bite to eat first then we played in the park for a while last night. More »

Renewing My Vows

The TV Guide

Yesterday was a really fun Sunday Funday for me. I started out my day at a birthday brunch for Tam’s dad Richard and afterwards, I made my way to Anaheim to hang out at Disneyland with my friends. Not only did I get to spend some time with my Sons of Anakin fam but I also ran into and got to hang out with my friend Ashen — who I hadn’t seen in FOREVER! Last week, I renewed my Disneyland Annual Passport for another year of Disney fun, which I picked up at the ticket booth yesterday and immediately put to use. Perfect Sunday was perfect. More »

Ryan Gosling May Star In Guillermo del Toro’s Disney Film ‘The Haunted Mansion’

PLUS, The Hatbox Ghost WILL RETURN to Disneyland in May

Waaaaay back in 2010 we first learned that director Guillermo del Toro officially signed on to direct a feature film for Disney based on the amusement theme park ride The Haunted Mansion and today, all these years later, we are hearing that actor Ryan Gosling is close to joining the cast of the film. Despite Ryan‘s desire to focus more on directing over acting, it sounds like he is willing to make an exception for del Toro and Disney. Additionally, there is other very exciting Haunted Mansion news for fans of Disneyland. The long fabled Hatbox Ghost is officially making his return to the Disneyland attraction for the first time since 1969! So much great Haunted Mansion news, read on!! More »

A Most Eggs-cellent Saturday

The TV Guide

My Saturday yesterday was jam-packed with great people and fun stuff to do so I think it shall be recorded in the annals of history as one of the greatest Saturdays that ever was. Because I had to make a quick trip to Anaheim to pick up a birthday present for a party I was going to later in the day, I kinda accidentally paid a quick visit to Disneyland for a few hours before I made my way back to LA to celebrate said party with my friend Stacey. After I was sufficiently house partied out, I made my way over to Emma and Josh’s so that we could get downtown to see a movie at the Electric Dusk Drive-In. I mean, I to play at Disney, party with some friends and end the night at the drive-in movies. It doesn’t get much better than that. More »

Watch: This Time-Lapse Video Shows Disneyland Being Built In 1 Minute

60 years ago this July
The Birth of Disneyland

In honor of the upcoming 60th anniversary of the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA, Disney has released a neat time-lapse video that shows the construction of Disneyland taking place over the course of one minute. I don’t believe this video has ever been made available before so it should be new to all y’all. It’s really damn cool to see the entirety of Disneyland being built in just a minute’s time. Please enjoy.

A New Sons Of Anakin Apprentice Is Born

The TV Guide

Yesterday was a great Sunday Funday at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure with my Sons of Anakin friends. Not only did we get to the business of having lots of fun, like we always do when we get together, but we also officially welcomed a new prospect/apprentice into the fold. In order to become a member of SoA, you have to hang out with us for a few weeks to see if everyone gets along (which isn’t hard to do because we are fun to hang out with). Then, like we did yesterday, we determine if we would like to extend the offer to have someone begin the official prospecting process to see if they would like to join the group. We’ve been hanging out with our new friend Alex for a month now so it was time to make him a Sons of Anakin apprentice. More »

Hot In Herre

The TV Guide

Yesterday was a very fun but VERY hot Sunday Funday for me. The temps soared well into the ’90s so I’m sure you can appreciate how sucky that can feel. I ended up not running the LA Marathon this year, thankfully, but I did make my way down to Anaheim, CA to hang out with my friends at Disneyland all day long. All day long … in the blazing sun all day long. It was hot but we had fun cuz we always have fun. No one melted, no one died and a great time was had by all. More »
