Universal Studios Hollywood Is Launching A ‘Fast And The Furious’ Ride

Supercharged

Because The Fast and the Furious movie franchise doesn’t make enough millions of dollars worldwide, the folks at Universal Studios Hollywood have decided to come up with another way to help milk the franchise for even more money. Universal has announced that they will be launching a new FF ride called Fast & Furious Supercharged at their amusement theme park next year. Now, instead of just watching the Fast and the Furious movies, you can feel like you are a part of them, too. More »

There’s A First Time For Everything

The TV Guide

A few days ago, I got to spend some time hanging out with my dear friend Sherri who is visiting LA from Michigan and because we had so much fun during that hang out session, we decided to hang out again yesterday afternoon/evening/night. Sherri and I go way back to our high school days and back then, we were big Disney fans (shocker, I know). Sherri and I saw Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Lion King — all of the big Disney animated films — when they were originally released in theaters so we have a strong Disney background. It occurred to me during dinner a few days ago that we had the opportunity to spend time together at the Disney mecca, just the two of us. We decided to spend the day at Disneyland yesterday and we had the best time ever. More »

Fat Tuesday At Disneyland

The TV Guide

My friend Eileen and I made our way down to Anaheim, CA to spend the evening at Disneyland together and altho our visit was short, we had a great time together nonetheless. I registered for an Annual Pass event where I would be able to meet and get a photo with Captain America but honestly, that wasn’t even the highlight of the trip. Eileen and I decided that we were going to eat as much fun stuff as we could in honor of Fat Tuesday and we managed to nosh on many of our faves. Because both Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure closed at 8PM last night, we didn’t have as much time as we would’ve liked to play in the parks … but we ate, rode some rides and had a much fun as we could anyways. Disney Introduces The Avengers Super Heroes Half Marathon At Disneyland

The Inaugural Event Takes Place in November

Disney announced today that they will be hosting a new running event at Disneyland starting this Fall that will be themed around The Avengers which, I’m sure you can imagine, is AMAZING news for a geeky runner like myself. As you may know, I started training in March of 2012 so that I could run my very first half marathon at Disneyland that September. Since then, I’ve managed to keep on running and have completed to date 8 full marathons, 13 half marathons and quite a few 10K and 5K races (my 9th marathon will be the LA Marathon in 2 weeks). Among the races I’ve completed are quite a few Disney races including the Disneyland Half Marathon (twice), the Disneyland 10K, the Walt Disney World Marathon (twice), the WDW Half Marathon (twice), the WDW 10K, the WDW 5K and the WDW Tower of Terror 10 Miler (and I’m running the WDW Expedition Everest 5K in May) … SO OF COURSE I’m going to run this new Avengers Super Heroes Half Marathon as well :D Woot!! Race 3 Of 4: The Walt Disney World Half Marathon

The TV Guide

Welp, I’ve run 3 of my 4 races this weekend and while I’m happy about the accomplishment, I’m trying DESPERATELY not to think about the fact that tomorrow’s 4th and final race will be LONGER than the 3 races I’ve run thus far. OY! But, we’re not talking about that right now … right now we’re talking about how I just ran the 2014 Walt Disney World Half Marathon. Last night, I grabbed dinner with my friend Joel, his wife Stephanie and their son Court to carbo load for today’s race … then I was up at 3AM again to hit the streets of Walt Disney World to run another 13.1 miles. I met a PITNB reader from Detroit and got medaled by my dear friend Aurora … plus I got to take photos with a bunch of really great Disney characters so … all in all, it’s been a pretty sweet day thus far. Race 2 Of 4: The Inaugural Walt Disney World 10K

The TV Guide

Early this morning I got up, got out and ran the first ever Walt Disney World 10K race which was race 2 of the 4 races I’m running for the Dopey Challenge here at Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL this weekend. Yesterday, I grabbed food with a couple of good friends after I ran my last race and rested up as much as possible for my run today. Altho I’m half done running my individual races, I’m nowhere NEAR halfway done with all the miles I’ll have to run cumulatively. OY! Still, I’m having fun here at WDW so, really, that’s all that matters :D More »

Race 1 Of 4: The Disney Family Fun Run 5K

The TV Guide

Early this morning I began the task that brought me to Orlando, FL this weekend … I ran the first of four races as part of The Dopey Challenge here at Walt Disney World. As I mentioned before, I will be running four races on sequential days this weekend and today I ran the first of those races. Today’s race was the shortest and, therefore, the easiest of the races. Click below to see some photos that I snapped while running the Disney Family Fun Run 5K. More »

Happy Happy, Joy Joypolis

The TV Guide

Adriana and I got another day into the books here in Tokyo, Japan. Because it was a rainy day for us, we decided to do indoor things to fill up our day. The early part of our Friday was spent inside the Museum of Contemporary Art of Tokyo. I really really wanted to visit this museum to see the artwork of Tokujin Yoshioka and was NOT disappointed in the least. We enjoyed the museum so much that we stayed there pretty much most of the day until closing. Afterward, we made our way to an indoor amusement park and video arcade called Joypolis and played away the rest of the day/evening. On our way home we randomly made a new friend and decided to extend our night’s outing with a nightcap and late nite pizza. It really was a superfun day. More »

Disney, See?

The TV Guide

Merry Xmas to all y’all in the US but it’s already December 26th here in Japan so … Happy Boxing Day to my beloved Canucks and Brits!! Adriana and I decided that we wanted to spend our Xmas Day having fun at the Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea theme parks and boy, did we go all out. We managed to get out of the house, onto the train and to the park relatively early in the day … and were met with THRONGS of other people who also decided that Xmas Day was the perfect day to enjoy Disney. Despite the crowds, we did have a really amazing time. Most of our day/night was spent oohing and ahhhing at everything we saw. As a big Disney fan, it was really fun getting to experience a couple of totally different and totally amazing parks on the other side of the planet … and all on Xmas day!. More »
