My Sunday Routine

The TV Guide

Another Sunday, another trip down to Anaheim, CA to hang out with my peoples at Disneyland. Now that the temps have fallen from the 100s down into the 80s, it was practically WINTER here in SoCal yesterday. Altho it was still hot, it was much less hot than it’s been for the past few weeks so it did feel like a relief. The day was fun and fairly standard. Fun Fun Fun, you know, the usual. I did get to meet a PITNB reader in the parks last night so that was really a great highlight of my day. All in all, I enjoyed another great Sunday Funday at Disney! More »

A Very ‘Lucky’ Day

The TV Guide

Despite the fact that the temperature soared into the millions yesterday, I made my way down to Anaheim, CA to hang out with friends old and new. Last week, Walt Disney‘s first creation — Oswald the Lucky Rabbit — made his debut in Disneyland/California Adventure on a special night devoted to his arrival in the parks. Yesterday was the first day that Oswald was made available for meet and greets with park attendees and I wanted to be among the first people to meet Oswald in “person”. The rest of the day was fun, naturally, even tho it was hotter than Hades all day/evening/night long. Phew! More »

All In The SC Family

The TV Guide

Yesterday, for Sunday Funday, I made my way down to Anaheim, CA to hang out with my friends in my Sons of Anakin social club at Disneyland and, wouldn’t you know it, I had the best time ever. Despite the fact that it was a billion degrees, the bunch of us managed to have a really fun time together nonetheless. Honestly, we spent much of our time indoors … enjoying the best air conditioning the Disney parks have to offer … but we spent the day together so, yeah, we had a blast. More »

Oswald The Lucky Rabbit Makes His Debut At Disney California Adventure Park & Disneyland Resort

At long, long last

85 years ago today, Walt Disney‘s first major character Oswald the Lucky Rabbit made his debut in a cartoon titled Trolley Troubles. That’s right, before there was Mickey Mouse, there was Oswald. As some of you may know, Disney sold off Oswald to another company and went on to create the very similar looking Mickey Mouse … and the rest is history. For many years, the Disney corporation tried to buy back the rights to Oswald and in 2006, they finally bought back the rights to the character. Oswald has since appeared in Disney video games and even makes appearances at international Disney theme parks but at long last, in honor of his 85th anniversary, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit is FINALLY making his debut here at Disneyland. Earlier this week, Oswald was introduced in the park at a private event for a lucky audience and starting September 14, Oswald will become a PERMANENT character that you can meet and greet in the park. For the first time since he was created in the 1920s, Oswald is coming home. More »

Disneyland Half Marathon: Accomplished!

The TV Guide

I did it! I survived my weekend of races at Disneyland with the completion of the 2014 Disneyland Half Marathon yesterday and altho I was feeling horribly ill the day before, I woke up feeing better yesterday and managed to complete my race with no problems at all. The race was fun but it was even more fun to meet up with some friends who met me at the finish line with a great sign they made in support of my run <3 I ended up spending the rest of the day in the parks before I came home to rest up, change and then head out to dance the night away at the Echoplex for their Smiths/Morrissey dance night. It was a long, very tiring day but I lived to tell the tale. More »

Barely Survived The Disneyland 10K

The TV Guide

Today I ran my second of three races this weekend at Disneyland and altho it was mostly a fun race, it was far from a fun morning for me. I’ve been feeling a bit queasy for the past few days and all of that queasiness came to a head this morning when I woke up totally nauseous. I figured it would pass but thruout my entire 6 mile run, I felt moments away from puking my guts out in the nearest trash bin (I wouldn’t ever puke on the ground at Disneyland). Thankfully, I managed to make it thru the race without incident but the experience has me really worried for tomorrow’s 13.1 half marathon race :( More »

Aloha From The Disneyland 5K

The TV Guide

So, today has been a pretty productive day thus far. Before I even started writing today, I ran my very first Disneyland 5K race here in Anaheim, CA. I got to town yesterday evening to pick up my race materials for this weekend and then picked up a few provisions at Target before I grabbed a very unhealthy dinner at Outback (MMMMMM, Aussie Chayze Froys). Then I checked in to my hotel and passed out. The race this morning was fun and, thankfully, not terribly hot so … my Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend is off to a great start! More »

A Day Off

The TV Guide

After a long week of taking care of moving stuff, I decided I needed to take a much-deserved day off. I didn’t do a single moving-related thing yesterday so that I could spend the day at Disneyland with my friends. I got there pretty early in the day and stayed until dark. Even tho I was (and still am) pretty exhausted from a string of busy days, I did have a lot of fun yesterday … as you can see in the photos below. More »

Adventure Time

The TV Guide

I didn’t plan on doing anything fun last night other than packing but because the realtor that represents the condo I live in needed to show my place to potential new tenants, I decided not to be here when the showing took place. When I moved last, I had to deal with quite a few showing appointments where I was home working while potential tenants looked around my home on a realtor tour. I get that it’s necessary but it’s weird, awkward and can be uncomfortable. I got some work done yesterday afternoon with help from Emma, so I decided to meet up with my friend Jesse for a drink hang … wanna guess where we decided to meet? More »

Extended Family

The TV Guide

Yesterday was another Sunday Funday for me at the Disney parks down in Anaheim, CA — which probably isn’t a big surprise — but I really wanted to go all out since I will be out of town for the next week. I was able to meet up and hang out with the whole Sons of Anakin SC family but spent much of my time hanging out with members of our club who I hadn’t seen in a very long time. There are so many cool kids in our group that I’m lucky enough to have too many new friends to hang out with. Altho it was painfully hot and humid yesterday, I ended up having a superfun day with some really great friends. More »
