Rave On

The TV Guide

After far too many weeks away, I finally made my way back down to Anaheim, CA to spend the day with my friends at Disneyland. My social club Sons of Anakin held our monthly meeting so it was the perfect chance to meet up with the friends I hadn’t been able to see for a while. Altho it was insanely hot, I really had the best day hanging out with my friends. But, as the afternoon turned to evening, I had to jet back home to LA to meet up with Eileen at the Hollywood Bowl to see Basement Jaxx in concert. We only learned about the Basement Jaxx concert last weekend when we went to the Hollywood Bowl to see Underworld> live in concert. If last week was the perfect chill techno experience, then last night was the perfect dance party rave experience — under the shining stars of Hollywood. More »

North West Celebrated Her 2nd Birthday At Disneyland With Family, Friends & Legions Of Fans

Everyone was invited!

Last week the report going around was the Kanye West and his wife were planning to “shut down” the Disneyland Resort theme park in Anaheim, CA to throw a 2nd birthday party for their only child North West. As I blogged early yesterday, it would be impossible for Disneyland to be “shut down” for North‘s birthday party … and I was right. Kanye and the Mrs. did throw a birthday party for North West at Disneyland … but they did so in broad daylight, during regular operating hours, where anyone with an admission ticket could attend. The Wests (and their family and friends) invaded the Disneyland and Disney California Adventure theme parks yesterday afternoon in celebration of Nori‘s birthday and as you can see in the gallery presented here, their activities were well documented on social media (Instagram, in particular). Click through and see some of the fun that Nori had at the Happiest Place on Earth yesterday … then click below to watch really fun video of Kanye West and his daughter trying to enjoy some daddy/daughter time on King Arthur’s Carousel inside Disneyland‘s Fantasyland. Walt Disney World Reveals Details About Their New ‘Frozen’ Ride

Frozen Ever After

Because the Disney animated juggernaut Frozen is showing no signs of slowing down, the company has decided to open a Frozen-themed amusement park ride at Epcot Center in Walt Disney World in Florida. Today we get our first look at and get to read the first details about this new Frozen ride. The attraction has been titled Frozen Ever After and as you can see below, it will take riders on a trip through Arendale by boat (mainly because this new Frozen ride is taking the place previously occupied by the Maelstrom viking ride). Have a look below and see the Frozen fun coming to WDW next year. More »

North West Will Celebrate Her 2nd Birthday At Disneyland

When you birthday wish upon a star

Last year, for North West‘s first birthday, her parents threw for her a massive birthday fete that was Coachella themed. This year, they plan to outdo themselves by throwing North a birthday party at Disneyland! Kanye West and his wife managed to secure the amusement park on a night that it closes early so that they can have Nori‘s 2nd birthday party in the park for family and friends … and I’m not gonna lie about how insanely jealous I am. Disneyland makes itself available to celebrities for weddings and private parties, so it’s not a big surprise that they have agreed to let North West have her birthday party there this month. I mean … is this not amazingly cool? More »

A Night In The Park

The TV Guide

Last night I made my way down to Anaheim to meet up with my friend Jamie who is in town this week visiting from Las Vegas. She and I actually met at Disneyland a few years ago and managed to stay in touch. When she told me she would be at Disney for a few days this week, well, I had to get down there to spend some time with her. I managed to get my friends Elena, Jessie, Alex and Eddy to meet up with us so we could make a night of it. I don’t get to get down to the park midweek very often but now that summer is nearly here, I might have to get back into the habit … because last night was so much fun. More »

When The Bats Come Out To Play

The TV Guide

Yesterday was that hallowed day when all of the goths come out to play at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure for Bat’s Day. To be honest, after the crazy night I had Saturday, I was feeling REALLY lazy Sunday morning and I contemplated not going to Disney … then I remembered it was Bat’s Day and there’s no WAY I was gonna miss Bat’s Day. I dunno why but I absolutely LOVE the sight of all the goths playing in Disneyland. Sure, you see a few here and there all year long but Bat’s Day is really special. I’m glad I went because I had a blast, as usual. More »

Disneyland 48

The TV Guide

Not content to just celebrate with a mere 24-hour celebration at Disneyland, I decided to hang out for a bit in The D for a second day on Saturday. My original plan was to leave the park by 6AM, get to my hotel to freshen-up a bit, then drive back home to LA. I decided instead to nap for a bit, get my work done in the hotel room and then play in the park a for a while with friends. I really only wanted to ride the rides I didn’t get to on Friday but I ended up running into my friends Jim & Derek and their BEAUTIFUL baby boy Levi and then I met up with my Sons of Anakin fam and, well, I ended up staying all day … and into the night. Disneyland 24

The TV Guide

SO, yesterday was Disneyland‘s now annual 24-hour event that takes place every Memorial Day weekend to kick-off the coming summer season in the parks. This year, tho, the 24-hour event was extra special because it was the start of Disneyland‘s 60th Diamond Anniversary celebration that will officially begin on July 17 and will continue throughout the year. Because of this extra specialness, attendance at the parks was at an all-time high. My friends and I managed to have a lot of fun at the parks last night (and this morning) but I would be lying if I didn’t say that the massive number of people jam-packed inside Disneyland and Disney California Adventure proved to be a bit … annoying. That said, I can’t fault anyone for wanting to join in the fun. More »

Patched In, Pigged Out

The TV Guide

Yesterday was a pretty great Sunday Funday. The early part of the day was spent at Disneyland with my Sons of Anakin peeps, where we voted and patched in our friend Alex as our newest member. After a fun afternoon of play in the park (and another ride on The Haunted Mansion to get another look at the Hatbox Ghost), we decided to have dinner offsite at the INFINITELY amazing Korean BBQ place Mr. BBQ. Lorde have mercy, we ate and ate and ate and ate … and ate some more. We weren’t satisfied until the night ended in meat sweats. It was divine. More »

The Hatbox Ghost Returns To The Haunted Mansion

The TV Guide

Longtime Disneyland fans are well aware of the legend of the Hatbox Ghost, one of the ghosts that was created for the Haunted Mansion ride in Disneyland that disappeared shortly after the attraction opened in 1969. According to the story, the Hatbox Ghost was only in the Haunted Mansion ride for a few weeks before it was removed because the creators couldn’t get it to work properly. This weekend, for the first time since 1969, the Hatbox Ghost made his return to the Haunted Mansion ride. I have been waiting for his return for years so, I’m sure you can imagine, I was very excited to ride the Haunted Mansion yesterday so that I could see the Hatbox Ghost in person … again and again and again.
