John Travolta & Olivia Newton-John Team Up For A New Xmas Album

'This Christmas' Is Coming Your Way

Welp, it looks like this coming Xmas is going to be a lot brighter (possibly) and a lot cheesier (definitely) because today we learn that former co-stars and apparent current BFFs Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta have teamed up to record a new holiday album titled This Christmas. According to the press release issued today, John and Olivia decided to celebrate the “season of giving” by releasing an album that would raise money for their respective charities — The Jett Travolta Foundation (created in honor of John‘s late son) and The Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre. Not only will we get an album full of songs sung by John and Olivia but they are joined on the album by guest performers like Barbra Streisand, Kenny G, Tony Bennett, James Taylor and more! First Look: The Album Art For ‘I Will Always Love You: The Best of Whitney Houston’ Is Released

Greatest Hits

It has been over 7 months since the world tragically lost Whitney Houston and, sadly, many of us are still not over the loss. As you may know, Whitney‘s mother Cissy Houston is writing a book about her late daughter and the Grammy Museum here in LA devoted an entire exhibit to Whitney. But it’s her music that will stand as the most effective tribute to her memory. On November 13, RCA Records is releasing a new Greatest Hits collection titled I Will Always Love You: The Best of Whitney Houston that will collect, for the first time ever, many of Whitney‘s biggest and best loved hits on one disc. Click below to see the full size album cover and learn more about the album from the just issued press release. More »

First Listen: Rihanna Releases Her New Single ‘Diamonds’

World Premiere
Shine Bright

Last week, we learned that Rihanna was planning the release this week of her new single Diamonds, the first from her as-yet-untitled 7th album (due out by year’s end). Earlier this week, we got our first look at the cover artwork for Diamonds. Today, we get to hear the song in full. Diamonds premiered on the radio at 8AM ET today and is now available for purchase on iTunes. For me, the song is only just alright. I find the chorus a bit too repetitive and there is something off about her vocals (something in the production makes her vocals sound robotic to me). I don’t hate this song but I’m not wowed either. Take a listen, lemme know what you think. Is it a hit?

First Listen: Ke$ha Returns With New Single Titled ‘Die Young’

Watch the Lyric Video
"Let's Make The Most Out of The Night"

Ke$ha is back with a forthcoming new album titled Warrior (due out in a few months) and a new single titled Die Young (out now). Seemingly out of nowhere, Ke$ha dropped this new track late yesterday and it is now available for purchase on iTunes … but you can hear the song in full by watching the official lyric video above. As you can hear, this new track is very sing-songy and upbeat … but it features a bit of Ke$ha‘s “rap style” mixed in as well. I have to say, I’m not the biggest Ke$ha fan but I’ve decided to give her a chance with this new album. I was impressed with her work on Britney Spears‘s last album Femme Fatale (she wrote ‘Til the World Ends) so I’m gonna see if she can impress me with this new album. As for this single, I guess it’s OK. It feels like one of those songs that grows on you. Take a listen, see what you think. Are you happy that Ke$ha is back among us?
