Yesterday we saw a few new photos from the David Beckham Bodywear Fall/Winter 2014 collection, which I’m sure you vividly remember seeing, and today we have a few more photos to enjoy. Three new photos from the new ad campaign have come to light, which are presented here for your viewing pleasure. I tossed in two of the photos that we got yesterday to round out the gallery, I hope you don’t mind. Please enjoy.
So, Balenciaga just released an ad for their latest campaign and it was absolutely shocking. Gisele Bündchen with all of her gorgeous, Pantene-worthy locks are totally DUNZO. The model is rocking a fierce, dark, androgynous look and it’s pretty intense. Balenciaga‘s artistic director Alexander Wang was very pleased with the ad, saying, “This is how I see Gisele for Balenciaga; strong, powerful, mysterious and uncompromising.” Yeah, that’s pretty much what we’re dealing with here. PITNBr Sabrina sent me a link to this commercial on Twitter, and I was so excited to check it out. As you all know, me likey feminism and feminist-y things, so a commercial that starts out with the question, “Why are women always apologizing?” definitely got my attention. I think I like the general idea here. I have a good friend who used to tell me all of the time, “Do not apologize for anything,” LOL. I’ve learned to apply that theory in moderation. For example, if you come visit me, I’m not apologizing for my home. PITNBr OG Emily can attest to that ;) I think the way I put it to her was, “I had a choice between doing my hair and doing the dishes. I chose hair. You’re welcome.” LOL. But this Pantene commercial also got some criticism for, basically, parading as something which seeks to empower women, when it’s really about selling their product. It’s a tricky thing to try to examine, but it definitely raises some interesting questions. We’ve seen many new commercials that embrace the gay rights movement by showing same-sex couples. Is it all for the money? Or are these commercials truly important? (I’d say it’s probably a bit of both.)
Yesterday we announced the hugely epic, insanely awesome ASOSPITNB Giveaway, and I was so psyched to share news with you all about the new Bikini Mixer at my favorite online store. As I was playing around with it, I suddenly remembered that I had seen a bikini ad recently that I completely fell in love with. As many of you may remember, I have a serious thing for Australian model Robyn Lawley. She’s stunning, she has an awesome food tumblr, and her photo shoots are amazing. Whilst Instagram-stalking her I saw that she posted a pic, that is, IMO, the best topless swimsuit ad ever. Through the photo I learned about the Swimsuits For All campaign, and I have to tell you all about it. Click inside for more!
In case you hadn’t heard, Kanye West got married over the weekend in Florence, Italy … and to congratulate him, New York Sports Clubs published a congratulatory note to Kanye in NYC newspapers over the weekend. As you can read below, this congratulatory note kinda trolls Kanye a bit by referencing his wife’s previous, very short-term marriage to basketballer Kris Humphries. I’m not sure if the advice that NYSC offers below will work for Kanye‘s long term martial success but it was nice of them to reach out, I think ;) More »
So … Kanye West got married to his babymama in a ceremony in Florence, Italy today — yada yada LDR yada — but the REAL Kanye news today is that Yeezus is debuting a new song titled God Level in a new ad campaign for adidas. Just weeks ahead of the World Cup soccer tournament, adidas has unleashed its The Dream: All In or Nothing campaign and in the just-released first video commercial, Kanye‘s new song God Level is featured. The song was produced by 88-Keys, Hudson Mohawke, Mike Dean, Noah Goldstein and Yeezy himself. It’s unknown if the song will appear on Kanye‘s new album but I find it hard to believe he won’t put a song titled God Level on his new album. Click the embed above to watch the just-released adidas commercial to preview the track and then click below to hear a longer version of Kanye‘s new song God Level. More »
OMSqueeee! This is officially the most adorable thing I’ve seen all day (aside from the most adorable thing I get to see every day). Oscar nominee and star of the upcoming Annie adaptation, Quvenzhané Wallis, is the new face of Armani Junior. This first campaign photo is so friggen cute it’s making me sick. Quvenzhané + puppy + that suit = complete and total slayage. Click inside for a better look!
Let me preface this with a statement about girl crushes: I don’t do girl crushes. Jezebel published a great piece a while back about how that phrase is problematic and kind of contributes to a society that is anti-authentic lesbian relationships. Loved that piece, totally agree. I crush on women. I crush on men (tell no one in my house, please). And when I saw Blue Is The Warmest Color a while back I was like, “Who is Léa Seydoux, and why am I crushing on her so hardcore?” (well, the answer to that was obvious… whewwww!) Anywho, she’s rocking this new Prada Candy Florale campaign, and I love it! The photos were released a little while back, but ICYMI, click inside for more! More »
