Let me preface this with a statement about girl crushes: I don’t do girl crushes. Jezebel published a great piece a while back about how that phrase is problematic and kind of contributes to a society that is anti-authentic lesbian relationships. Loved that piece, totally agree. I crush on women. I crush on men (tell no one in my house, please). And when I saw Blue Is The Warmest Color a while back I was like, “Who is Léa Seydoux, and why am I crushing on her so hardcore?” (well, the answer to that was obvious… whewwww!) Now that Beyoncé, Jay Z and Solange have issued their joint official statement regarding the release of that elevator video of Solange beating the Hell out of Jay on the night of the Met Ball last week, we can try and move on from the incident as best we can. BUT, a new promo ad campaign from the company that made the purse that Solange used in her attack on Jay Z is trying to capitalize on the incident for financial gain. British fashion label Anya Hindmarch is the maker of the Crisp Packet Clutch purse (which Solange famously and repeatedly threw at Jay Z in between punches and kicks) posted a new promo ad photo on Twitter that cleverly refers to the Solange/Jay Z fight as a way to sell purses. For many months, film producers did everything they could to keep the new Godzilla a secret for as long as possible. Now that the monster has been featured pretty heavily in the newest movie trailers, it looks like producers aren’t really all that concerned about keeping the secret anymore. A new commercial for Godzilla and Fiat is airing on TV right now and as you can see in the video embedded above, this new commercial gives us a really good look at the monster … in the silliest way possible. I’m not gonna lie, I LOLed when I first saw this commercial. I suspect you’ll LOL, too.

Last month we learned that Lorde teamed up with MAC Cosmetics to release her own line of make-up and today we get our first look at the just-released promo poster for MAC X LORDE. The first product revealed from this special limited edition make-up line is a lipstick titled Pure Herione (named for Lorde‘s award-winning debut album). Earlier this week we got to see the the Heart of Glass music video that Gisele Bundchen released in conjunction with H&M for their new summer swimwear campaign. Today we get to see photos of Gisele in the new H&M summer ad campaign and as you can see in the gallery presented here, the supermodel is rocking these new summer looks right. Gisele Bündchen is the star of H&M‘s new summer ad campaign and has recorded a cover of Blondie‘s iconic song Heart of Glass for the clothier. The music video for Gisele‘s Heart of Glass premiered earlier today on Good Morning America and the song can be downloaded for at iTunesHERE. All of the royalties from this song will go to UNICEF so if you like the track and you want to buy it, you will also be supporting a very good cause. The video is fun and Gisele‘s cover is decent but it’s clear that singing isn’t her strongest suit. Nonetheless, I can appreciate that H&M has come up with a clever way to market their summer line so, I’m not mad at this musical ad campaign at all. What say you? While I wasted some time on Facebook today I came up on a really fantastic 80s commercial for Star Wars Underoos (thanks Tony) and loved it so much, I thought it would be fun to share for Throwback Thursday today. I used to LOVE wearing Underoos as a kid. In fact, it was my life’s mission from the ages of 8-10 to ONLY wear Underoos underwear. For those of you unfamiliar, Underoos were underwear sets (t-shirts and matching underwear) that were themed to look like super hero costumes (like Superman, Spider-Man, Wonder Woman) or movie character outfits (like any character from Star Wars). Up until the invention of Underoos (and in all the years since, I might add), underwear used to be so boring. I used to wear my Batman Underoos around the house, pretending I was the caped crusader (with a towel tied around my neck since Underoos didn’t come with capes, unfortunately).
