Last summer, Gwyneth Paltrow was hired as the celebrity spokesmodel for Max Factor Cosmetics. Today we learn that the company has selected someone more, well, dead as their newest celebrity spokesmodel. In spite of the fact that Marilyn Monroe has been dead for 53 years and, at this point, doesn’t have the need to wear cosmetics (or, you know, have the need to have a face), she has been selected as the celebrity global brand ambassador for Max Factor. And, yes, while Marilyn is a legendary icon of beauty and glamor, I’m not sure how much sense it makes for a cosmetics company selling products to the living to “hire” a dead person to peddle their wares. It was revealed a few days ago that Kanye West and his wife have been tapped to appear in the upcoming Spring/Summer ad campaign for fashion house Balmain and today we get to see the first photos from the campaign. Kanye and his wife are huge fans of Balmain so it’s really no surprise at all that they would team up with the fashion house to promote the new collection. I wouldn’t really call the photos dynamic since they look very much like every other photo that KimYe have taken together but the photos are definitely on brand for KimYe empire. This Balmain campaign appears to be the couple’s first stake on ownership of 2015 … I’m not sure I’m ready for that just yet.
Last week we saw a couple of very racy Nicki Minaj photos from her official 2015 calendar but today we get to see new photos of Nicki which are far less risqué. Nicki has been selected as the celebrity spokesmodel for Roberto Cavalli‘s Sping/Summer 2015 ad campaign and as you can see in the gallery presented here, she cleans up really nicely. It’s pretty impressive how Nicki can go from super sexy/almost nekkid to super classy/high fashion from one day to the next without batting an eyelash. This is a great fashion campaign. I’d deffo much prefer to see more of this side of Nicki Minaj.
With the holiday shopping season in full swing, our dear Britney Spears wants to remind us all that pieces from her new lingerie/sleepwear line The Intimate Collection would make the perfect gift for that special someone in your life. This week, Britney released a promo video for the Buttercup Collection and as you can see above, she uses poetry to help promote this particular collection from her new lingerie line. Check out the video above and then whip out your credit card and start shopping, y’all. I wear a medium.
Salt-N-Pepa (complete with DJ Spinderella) are featured in the new television ad campaign for Geico Auto Insurance and their commercial is so perfect, I NEED for you all to see it for yourselves. When this commercial first came on my TV, I almost fell onto the floor in a fit of laughter. I think it works best if you watch the commercial cold without any description. Have a look and see what you think. If this commercial doesn’t get you to switch your auto insurance to Geico, then nothing will.
Earlier this week, Madonna caused a stir when images from her new Interview magazine photospread were released online and today, she is making another stir with the release of another batch of new photos. Versace has unveiled Madonna as the celebrity spokesmodel for the upcoming ad campaign for spring/summer 2015. Madonna, as you may know, has previously been featured in Versace campaigns so it’s clear that the fashion house has lots of lurve for Her Madgesty. Newlyweds Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka have been hired by the London Fog company to appear in their new ad campaign as the new celebrity spokesmodels for the brand. Today we get to see two of the couple’s new promo ads for London Fog which will be appearing in fashion magazines and, I believe, billboards throughout the holiday shopping season. A few months ago, Usher started appearing in commercials for Honey Nut Cherrios but today we learn that his partnership with the cereal brand has just been elevated to a new high (or low, depending on how you view this news). Usher will be giving away digital downloads of a new song titled Clueless in select boxes of Honey Nut Cheerios that will ONLY be sold at Wal-Mart. It’s a good thing I’m not a big Usher fan because there is no way I would want to spend my money at Wal-Mart just to buy a box of cereal in order to get the song. Whatever happened to the days where boxes of cereal contained small plastic toys, or actual plastic vinyl records as prizes. Digital downloads as cereal box prizes are about as sad as the pitiful paper prizes they put inside boxes of Cracker Jack these days. Sigh. Gone are the good ol’ days of cereal box prizes that would inspire me to BEG for a particular box of cereal just so I could get the prize and never eat the cereal. Sigh.
LOL. Ok, y’all know I love our dear Britney Spears more than life itself sometimes but I really just cannot with the promo video she released for her new lingerie line The Intimate Collection. Britney is REALLY TRYING to go for a sexy vibe with this video for the Camilla Collection but … the poses … no … and recitation? Yeah, really no. I love her, no question, but this video … it’s just too hard to take seriously. Less of this, please. Haha.
