The clothing line Band of Outsiders has been releasing Polaroid photos of famous folks modeling their clothing and today we get to see a series of photos that feature none other than musician Frank Ocean. Frank is wearing items from Band of Outsiders‘s Spring 2013 line and, from what I can tell, he surely wears the clothes well. Click below to see scans of actual Polaroid photos of Frank making Band of Outsiders‘s new collection look good. More »
A little while back we learned that Katie Holmes had become the new face of Bobbi BrownCosmetics, and she had some pretty sweet promo photos for the brand. Apparently, Bobbi Brown isn’t the only company looking for a touch of Holmes because H. Stern just launched a new campaign for their Iris jewelry collection, and Katie‘s the gorgeous, new frontwoman. In early February we learned that our dear Britney Spears is readying the release of a new fragrance called Island Fantasy. Today, we get our first look at a new promo image for the perfume … but, as pointed out by Breathe Heavy, the photo is just an old promo photo that is being recycled for use AGAIN. Previously, this promo image of Britney was used in campaign photos for Britney‘s Cosmic Radiance and Fantasy Twist fragrances. It would appear that Britney really loves the photo (or she just really hates posing for new photos) because it’s being used again for Island Fantasy. More »
Diet Coke has selected a new star to be the celebrity spokesperson for their brand of pop and wouldn’t you know it, they selected Country popstar Taylor Swift. Taylor sat down to chat with Entertainment Tonight on the set of her upcoming Diet Coke commercial and while she doesn’t talk much about the commercial itself, she does mention her collab with Diet Coke at the end of the interview. I have to say, I enjoy this side of Taylor rather than the catty side that just never works for her. Check out the video above to see some behind the scenes shots from the commercial shoot. I suspect we’ll be seeing the full commercial shortly.
Over the past few years, Mariah Carey has released a series of fragrances … from Forever by Mariah Carey to Lollipop Bling and subsequent “remix” perfumes, Mimi has been coming at his hard and fast with an agressive line of fragrances. Dreams by Mariah Carey will be available exclusively at Kohl’s department stores and according to the press release, Dreams is a “feminine fragrance that celebrates the many stages of Mariah’s life”. HMMM. Take a look below to see what the bottle for Dreams looks like and learn more about this exciting new fragrance. More »
Back in January we learned that Daft Punk is planning the release of a new album reportedly due out this Spring … last night, the band seemingly confirmed the imminent release of a new album with a short promo video that aired during last night’s broadcast of Saturday Night Live. During the commercial breaks, a 20 second clip of new Daft Punk music aired two different times last night … which, it would appear, is a tease of what’s to come. Click above to watch the video embedded above and get your first taste of new Daft Punk music.
Famed actress Audrey Hepburn, who passed away in 1993, is “alive” and well in digitally resurrected form for a new TV commercial for Galaxy Chocolate. The late icon’s estate (headed by her sons, I believe) licensed her image to be used in the new ad campaign that has been causing a bit of a stir this week. Some maintain that it is sacrilege to use the deceased in this manner to sell products, others maintain that it’s no big deal. I, personally, don’t know how I feel about this ad campaign in particular. While I don’t see a thing wrong with advertising in this manner, I think someone as beloved as Audrey Hepburn shouldn’t be lowered to shilling for candy bars. That said, I’m amazed by the ad agency’s ability to digitally bring Hepburn back from the dead for this new ad … it reminds me of Hologram Tupac, in that respect.
Check out the ad above and see what you think. Is this commercial something that appeals to you, grosses you our or neither?
Yesterday we got to see the new Miss Dior ads featuring Jennifer Lawrence, and they were absolutely gorgeous. But Natalie Portman is also a Miss Dior girl, and I’ve always loved her work for the fragrance line. Critically-acclaimed director Sophia Coppola (The Virgin Suicides, Lost In Translation) teams up with Portman in a sweet new ad, and since I never get tired of these campaigns– and I love me some Coppola– I was psyched to see this one. Grace Jones‘s cover of La Vie En Rose plays in the background as Natalie frolicks about with Nash Edgerton. Peep the video for more!
