Newlyweds Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka have been hired by the London Fog company to appear in their new ad campaign as the new celebrity spokesmodels for the brand. Today we get to see two of the couple’s new promo ads for London Fog which will be appearing in fashion magazines and, I believe, billboards throughout the holiday shopping season. Click below to see Neil and David‘s new London Fog photos and learn more about how the famous dads got this joint modeling gig. More »
A few months ago, Usher started appearing in commercials for Honey Nut Cherrios but today we learn that his partnership with the cereal brand has just been elevated to a new high (or low, depending on how you view this news). Usher will be giving away digital downloads of a new song titled Clueless in select boxes of Honey Nut Cheerios that will ONLY be sold at Wal-Mart. It’s a good thing I’m not a big Usher fan because there is no way I would want to spend my money at Wal-Mart just to buy a box of cereal in order to get the song. Whatever happened to the days where boxes of cereal contained small plastic toys, or actual plastic vinyl records as prizes. Digital downloads as cereal box prizes are about as sad as the pitiful paper prizes they put inside boxes of Cracker Jack these days. Sigh. Gone are the good ol’ days of cereal box prizes that would inspire me to BEG for a particular box of cereal just so I could get the prize and never eat the cereal. Sigh.
LOL. Ok, y’all know I love our dear Britney Spears more than life itself sometimes but I really just cannot with the promo video she released for her new lingerie line The Intimate Collection. Britney is REALLY TRYING to go for a sexy vibe with this video for the Camilla Collection but … the poses … no … and recitation? Yeah, really no. I love her, no question, but this video … it’s just too hard to take seriously. Less of this, please. Haha.
I’ve been thinking about that video going around of a woman enduring harassment on the streets of New York, and the many different reactions I’ve read to it. I think one thing people are forgetting is that casual catcalls are not casual if they participate in a movement that seeks to disempower women—and I think that’s the message of the video. As all Gladiators should know, it’s Scandal Thursday, which means I’ve also got Kerry Washington on the brain. She’s still apart of the Purple Purse program anti-domestic violence program, and she’s been speaking out about her activism, and how #YesAllWomen inspired her. Click inside for more!
Okay, so I got to chat about FKA twigs recently, as the singer/dancer was making headlines for the backlash she received from Robert Pattinson‘s fans (who don’t believe Pattinson should be dating a woman of color… yes… in the year 2014). But, I’ve been really wanting to introduce y’all to her music, and I was excited to see that she directed this high-concept dance video (#throughglass) for Google Glass. I love this, and I can’t wait to hear what you guys think. Get a taste of FKA twigs and peep the video above!
Last week we got to see a Diet Coke commercial that stars Taylor Swift (and a horde of adorable kittens) and doubles as an ad for her new album 1989. Today we get to see a Target commercial that stars Taylor Swift and is an outright ad for her new album 1989. Target will be selling an exclusive version of Taylor‘s album and as you can hear above, this new commercial features a snippet of her new song Style. Click the embed above to watch the commercial and hear her new song … but be warned, Taylor does a lot of talking before the music kicks in at the :35 mark of the clip. Enjoy.
Taylor Swift has unleashed her new Diet Coke commercial on the world and as you can see above, she has utilized an army of the cutest kittens ever in her campaign to see you this beverage. The gist of the commercial is simple … every time Taylor takes a swig of Diet Coke, her kitten count doubles until she is buried under an ocean of adorable kittens. If that doesn’t make for the most successful cola commercial in the history of cola commercials, I don’t know what does. AND, because she has an insane amount of brand clout these days, Taylor is also able to shout-out and promote the release of her new album 1989 at the end of the clip. Ker-CHING! When compared to the Diet Coke commercial she released last year, I think this one is the real winner. What do you think?
Cheerios has released a new commercial (in Canada, I believe) that showcases a family of three talking about how they came to be a family. André and Jonathan explain how they met and fell in love and then share how the addition of their daughter Raphaëlle completely changed their lives for the better. The commercial shows a few Cheerios here and there but the actual selling of breakfast cereal does not appear to be the main goal of this commercial. You may recall that earlier this year, Cheerios released a more conventional commercial for Super Bowl Sunday that did a better job of advertising their product. This commercial, in contrast, is a terrible advertisement for Cheerios … and a beautiful showcase for loving family values.
Let me tell you. I’m starting to feel extremely superficial. I blame Trent, for posting all of those Nick Jonas galleries and articles… one of which taunted me until I finally had to look. Nick Jonas has to be the second to last celebrity on my list of celebrities to care about, so I’m feeling very superficial about that. Then I went to see Gone Girl last night, and I’m embarrassed at how many times I thought,”Okay, is THIS the scene where we see it?” Ridiculous. But not as ridiculous as these photos of Ciara‘s post-baby body. My superficial trend continues, so click inside for more!
