Good News (or bad, I’m not sure), Peanuts fans … Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Lucy and the rest of the beloved gang will be making their theatrical debut in an animated movie slated for a late 2015 release. Unlike the traditional 2D animation that we all LOVE from the Peanuts TV specials A Charlie Brown Christmas, It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, etc., this feature film will be computer animated in 3D. As I understand it, this CGI movie will remain “true” to the spirit of the original cartoons. The settings we know and love (Snoopy‘s dog house, the skating pond, Lucy‘s psychiatrist booth) will all feature in the film without change. Snoopy won’t speak and the “sweet optimism” of Charles Schultz will remain intact. To be honest, I’m surprised a Peanuts animated film hasn’t been made until now … so I guess it’s time. Click the embed above to get your first look at what the Peanuts characters will look like when their animated movie is released next year. Do you like what you see? Is this CGI update a welcome one or … does this feel like a blasphemy to your childhood memories? Thus far, I like what I see. Do you?
THE BIEBER'STACHE RETURNS!
For the past few weeks, Justin Bieber has been promoting the release of his new film #BelieveMovie (HERE and HERE, for example) but today we get to feast our eyes on the first official movie trailer for Believe. In the clip embedded above, JB gives a shout out to his infamous Bieber’stache — which is HILAR — but I take a bit of issue regarding the way the young man is portrayed in a “woe is me” sort of way. Usher actually says that Bieber is “forced to grow up in front of the world” without explaining that HE (as his manager) is among the people “forcing” anything. Still, the “poor little rich boy” narrative will likely sell well to his legion of fans (even if that shizz doesn’t fly with some of us). Check out the trailer above and see if Believe is a movie that YOU will have to see when it opens in theaters on Xmas day.

The TV Guide
Yesterday afternoon I met up with my friend Adriana at the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood, CA for a showing of The Little Mermaid in 3D. Disney is releasing the 1989 film for the first time on Blu-Ray next month and to celebrate, they’ve rereleased the film in theaters for a limited time (just like they did for Beauty and the Beast and The Lion King). Films at the El Capitan are so special because the theater experience makes one feel like they’re in classic Hollywood … complete with an organist and oftentimes with appearances on stage by Disney characters (plus you can visit Britney Spears‘s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame right across the street). Neither Adriana nor I had seen The Little Mermaid in a theater since it was released more than 20 years ago so we were excited to see it again. We had the best time ever and were reminded that Disney magic like that featured in The Little Mermaid is truly a rare gift. More »
The TV Guide
Last night was a pretty uneventful night so, honestly, there’s nothing really to update. Tonight, tho, promises to be much more fun because later this afternoon I’m meeting up with Adriana at the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood, CA to see The Little Mermaid in 3D. As you may know, Disney is releasing The Little Mermaid on Blu-Ray for the first time ever next month and to celebrate, they have released the animated film in theaters for a limited time in 3D. In recent years I got to see The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast and Finding Nemo on the big screen in 3D … and now, it’s time to see The Little Mermaid in 3D, too :) More »

Each year, on Xmas Day, Queen Elizabeth Alexandra Mary, II delivers an annual Christmas Message that is broadcast to the entire United Kingdom and abroad. In years past, the Queen‘s speech was delivered via radio, via television and online. This year, for the first time ever, Queen Elizabeth‘s Christmas Message was also broadcast in 3D. As you can see above, the Queen focused her annual message this year on looking back at the very successful London Olympic Games. I’m actually very surprised that she made no mention whatsoever of her granddaughter-in-law’s first pregnancy but, well, she’s the Queen and she can talk about whatever she likes. Click above to watch the Queen‘s speech and … enjoy?
Nothing New, Still Awesome
Yesterday we saw the first poster for next year’s rerelease of Jurassic Park in 3D and today we get to see the film’s first trailer. Now, before y’all go and get all excited … there is no new footage in this trailer and, I suspect, there is no new footage in the film itself … and this is a good thing. The original film is merely being rereleased in theaters to celebrate it’s 20th anniversary … in 3D! If it’s been a while since you’ve seen Jurassic Park, this trailer might really have an impact on your. Check out the trailer above and remember how amazing a film Jurassic Park still is.
