After dazzling fans with season one of 80s-set supernatural drama, Stranger Things, Netflix has ordered up a second season of the wildly popular, binge-worthy show. Releasing a teaser trailer with chapter names for the 2017 season, fans can expect a slightly longer run with nine episodes, which according to show creators, Matt and Ross Duffer, will have, “A lot of new and interesting dynamics that we didn’t see in season 1,” Matt told Entertainment Weekly.
While it has been confirmed most of the cast will reprise their roles, no word yet if the show’s break out star and current Hollywood darling, Millie Bobby Brown will be back as Eleven. “We don’t know about Eleven,” Ross said. “We leave that up in the air.”
What the Duffer Brothers can promise is a further exploration of the Upside Down, new characters as well as details surrounding the back story of Will Buyers and his disappearance. “There are definitely a lot of cliffhanger-y threads at the end [of the season 1 finale],” Matt said. “It’s open-ended in a way that if people wanted it, and Netflix wanted it, we could explore it and continue the story line.”
