Sarah Michelle Gellar Is Returning For The ‘Cruel Intentions’ Spinoff

Let’s toast to her triumph! We’ve already reported that there’s a Cruel Intentions sequel TV show in the works, which will follow the evil, rich, and oh-so-glamorous Kathryn Merteuil from the epic ’90s flick. But we weren’t sure yet if Sarah Michelle Gellar would be reprising her role. Now folks, we can say that the original Kathryn shall returneth. We already disclosed that the NBC pilot will be about Kathryn’s brother Sebastian’s son, Bash Casey, discovering the sinful journal of his late great father (Ryan Phillipe made us swoooooon). But I have so many questions about Kathryn! Does she still carry coke in her cross necklace? Will she kiss another girl? Is she married now? What has she evolved into?

Sarah took to Instagram to share the news. She also posted a #tbt split pic of her with Roger Kumble, the director, and Neal Moritz, the executive producer of both the show and the original movie. One was taken on the night before filming for the original, and one the night before filming of the TV show. Just love it. Can’t wait to see Kathryn try to take over Valmont International.
