Kristen Stewart has offered a few words of wisdom to The Force Awakens’ Daisy Ridley in the wake of the film’s enormous success. If anyone knows sudden stardom and fame, it’s the Twilight star! Daisy has shot in to the limelight since the release of the movie earlier this month thanks to her role as Rey – which she’ll be reprising in Episode VIII in 2017. Speaking in a podcast for The Hollywood Reporter, Kristen – who had a similarly meteoric rise to stardom after being cast as Bella when she was just 17 – advised Daisy to keep her mind on her work!
Focus on the fact that you’re stoked ’cause you’re doing the work that you want to do. It’s literally mainly just about focusing on what makes you happy. And if losing your anonymity or whatever doesn’t make you happy, then focus on something else.
Kristen, now 25, went on to explain just how much her own life was changed by playing Bella Swan. “I did Twilight when I was 17, it came out when I was 18 and my life was never even remotely the same,” she explained. But despite that fact that she that people in the industry chose to focus on her Twilight character rather than her work, she does not regret her decision to join the franchise, saying: “A whole lot of other baggage – really heavy and cool baggage – came along with it.”
Who better than Kristen Stewart to give Daisy Ridley advice? We think they are some great words of wisdom.
