J.J. Abrams Comments On Those Leaked Photos From The Set Of ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’

A couple of days ago photos that were taken on the closed set of Star Wars: Episode VII were leaked to the Internets and a day later, more photos purported to be from the Star Wars set came to light as well. Just a short time ago, director JJ Abrams posted on Twitter a note that he wrote to the cast and crew of Episode VII asking them to “stop leaking photos” from the movie set. JJ’s note also “clears up” rumors that the Millennium Falcon will appear in the movie. Click below to read JJ’s note and see what he has to say about the photo leaks from the Star Wars set.

I wish people would stop leaking photos from Episode VII. And making ridiculous claims that the Millennium Falcon is in the movie. JJ

As you may know, TMZ published photos that appeared to show the Millennium Falcon on the set of Episode VII. This note from JJ seems to imply that those photos are not from the Episode VII set. Then again, upon closer inspection, the note appears to be pinned to holographic chess table that is seen aboard the Millennium Falcon in Star Wars: A New Hope:

Is he really telling us that the Millennium Falcon will appear in Episode VII? He does seem to admit that the first batch of photos that we saw are leaked photos from the set but my guess is that the photo leaks will stop from here on out — unless the leaks are intentional. It remains to be seen if his cast and crew will take his message to heart. There’s still a long way to go before Episode VII hits theaters late next year.

Based on this, it totally seems intentional. But I love that he seems to be having fun with it, knowing some leaks are inevitable in today’s day and age!
