Teen singer Lorde posted a pair of photos on her official Twitter profile so that she could point out the difference between what is real and what is not. In an attempt to let her fans know that no one is perfect and that “flaws are ok”, Lorde posted two photos that were taken during the same performance, on the same day. One photo shows her skin retouched to smooth perfect … the second photo shows her skin un-retouched so that her blemishes are visible. See the comparison photos below.
i find this curious – two photos from today, one edited so my skin is perfect and one real. remember flaws are ok :-)
You may recall that back in February, Lorde also shared a photo of herself wearing acne cream on her face in an earlier attempt to show that she is just as normal as any other person with acne on her skin. It’s very clear that Lorde, née Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O’Connor, is trying to put the message out there that perfection doesn’t really exist and that ALL people are flawed … which is perfectly fine because we are ALL flawed. Not a lot of young people would be so honest like this in social media, no matter if they are famous or not. I love that Lorde keeps putting these little message reminders out into the world that flaws are ok. Keep up the great work, Lorde!!
