First Look: ‘Girl Meets World’ Releases A FIRST Official Promo Photo

Hey 'Girl'

Way back in 2012 we first learned that plans were in the works for a spin-off sequel series based on Boy Meets World that will be titled Girl Meets World. Since that time, we’ve heard lots about the show’s casting, we learned that the show will debut this year and we got our first look at most of the cast posing together. Today we get to check out the just-released official photo of the entire Girl Meets World cast, courtesy of the fine folks at People magazine. Have a look below for your first official look at the cast of Girl Meets World.

Cory and Topanga are officially back together on TV. And they have kids! It’s been 14 years since Boy Meets World went off the air, but Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel are back to reprise their roles on a brand new Disney Channel series. Set in New York City, Girl Meets World picks up more than 10 years after Boy Meets World left off. The former adolescent flames are now married and raising two children, 7th-grade daughter Riley (Rowan Blanchard) and son Auggie (August Maturo). The story is centered around Riley, the title character. “Girl Meets World is a new show for a new generation that will be rooted in the same kind of honest, comedic storytelling about coming of age and the importance of family and friendship that made Boy Meets World so popular,” says creator Michael Jacobs … The show is set to premiere this summer.

What a cute TV family! I have a feeling that Girl Meets World will do very well when it finally debuts this summer. I don’t know that it’ll be as huge as Boy Meets World was but if they do things right, it could deffo be as successful. Ah, nostalgia … how I love thee!!

I think this show will do very well with those, like me, who grew up on the show and are curious how Topanga and Cory will do as parents. However, I feel that they will be featured way less on this show than Cory’s parents were on the original show. The Disney Channel is, after all, geared towards the tween market. That being said, summer can’t come fast enough for me. I wish we had the exact day and time of the premiere episode. So excited!

This seems like fun to me although I wish it was obvious from the picture which girl is the girl that is meeting the world. My only worry is the Disney Channel tendency to make the parents seem like idiots, who have absolutely no control over their kids. I would hate to see Cory and Topanga played that way.

  3. I know he’s probably long retired from acting, but if William Daniels reprises Mr. Feeny even just for a cameo, this show will make my world. I’m happy to see Cory and Topanga are going to live again and I really do hope to see them become the settled and smart but fallible parents we grew up with back in the 80′s and 90′s. I miss strong family comedies.
