Last week we learned that popstar Lorde has teamed up with MAC Cosmetics to release her own limited edition line of cosmetics this Summer and Revlon has moved forward with the release of a line of make-up inspired by The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Today we learn that MAC has teamed up with a movie of their own for another limited collection of cosmetics. This line called MAC X Disney’s Maleficent Collection will hit stores right around the time the film Maleficent opens in theaters at the end of May. Disney’s Maleficent has teamed up with MAC to bring you this mysterious new collection. Maleficent, a darkly diabolical horned beauty with Hepburn eyebrows. She’s the self-proclaimed “Mistress of All Evil”. With this line you can recreate Maleficent’s stunning looks yourself, even if you’re not a pro. Because you know, some of us girls wanted to be the villain rather than the princess. The 11 products cover every beauty base, from eyeshadow and lipstick to powder and polish. That lipstick is a must-have! Being bad never looked so good. The collection hits shelves this spring to coincide with the film’s premiere, May 30, 2014.
Geeze, the girls have all the fun. It’s pretty amazing how far movie marketing has come. Films never used to team up for promotions like this in years past but now, everything you see in movies is marketed to consumers. Honestly, I don’t mind this kind of movie marketing in the least. While product placement in film and TV isn’t always handled in the most suave way, I do like that products like this are packaged and sold to fans. If I were a girl, I’d be all about this kind of thing. From what I understand, MAC Cosmetics are really popular even if they are a bit expensive.
