Sarah Jessica Parker & Kristen Davis Hint At A New ‘Sex And The City’ Movie

"A part of me thinks there is one last chapter to tell"

Back in May of last year, actress Sarah Jessica Parker hinted quite publicly at the possibility of a third Sex and the City movie and today, we learn that she is still hinting very loudly at the prospect. In an interview with In Style magazine, SJP comments again that she believes that there is “one last chapter” of the SaTC saga to tell. Sarah‘s co-star Kristen Davis said the same thing in an interview last month … so does this mean that the possibility of a new SaTC movie is actually a real thing?!

Whip up some cosmos because a “Sex and the City” reunion could become a reality. In the latest issue of InStyle, Carrie Bradshaw herself, Sarah Jessica Parker hinted at how the “Sex and the City” story may not yet be finished. “A part of me thinks there is one last chapter to tell,” Parker told the magazine. “But timing is a peculiar thing. It isn’t a decision that can wait forever. I don’t want to have to wear muumuus!” Parker’s “Sex” co-star, Kristen Davis also commented on the possibility of a third “Sex and the City” back in December. Davis told Haute Living “I don’t think [a third film] is a pipe dream, there is discussion. People talk about it amongst the people who are the players, but I don’t know if it will come together. It would be very exciting if it did.” Since there is no official word yet of a “Sex and the City 3″ it may be a little early to break out the Manolos, but any hint at more “Sex and the City” is a cause of celebration for fans.

OMG PLEEEEEEEASE LET THIS HAPPEN! Honestly, most of the pushback for a new Sex and the City movie is based on how terrible the last movie was but HELLO, we cannot judge an entire franchise on one stinker film. The first movie was basically perfect … and let’s not forget that SaTC 2 was written by hack writers during the Writer’s Strike that hobbled Hollywood for that year. I say, let’s forget all about the stupid sequel and let the beloved franchise end on a glorious and high note. SJP is right, if they’re gonna tell one more SaTC story, they have to do it pretty soon. I’m hopeful that if SJP gets behind the idea of a new movie then a new movie might actually come to be. SJP and Kristen are on board, my guess is that Cynthia Nixon would be game … I think the only possible hold out would be Kim Cattrall. I just really, really want one last awesome Sex and the City movie, you know? Let’s all keep a positive thought and hope that it will actually happen in the next couple of years.

I love SATC, but what’s there to tell? Unless Carrie and Big have a child? Which didn’t seem to be their path… Big as a father just doesn’t ring true. If there is a new installment, I’m hoping it’s not dealing with Samantha’s cancer returning and a farewell… AND NYC needs to be the setting, SATC 2 fails because they lost the New York magic… “Abu Doh’ bi,” took too much of the story… no thanks!

  2. There was always going to be three movies, but after the second debacle I think they shied off the idea. And rightly so! What a horrendous movie! They need to go back to the original heart of the series and go from there if they want to make a third movie. Bring back the original female writers who knew the characters inside out. Though really, what storyline would actually be plausible now is hard to imagine.

I want this to happen SOOOOOO freakin much but I refuse to let myself get excited because I really don’t think it will. I will freak out when I hear the news that shooting has started though…!!!

You know what, as bad as the second movie was, I still loved it in the same way that I love Britney Spears in Crossroads (IDC!!) and will watch it if I spot it on TV. I’d go crazy for a third movie!

I hope this happens. I don’t even care if it sucks! I miss those characters and I would love another movie.

  6. ugh apparently, i’m the only one that like the second movie lol

    • I liked the second movie better than the first, I thought it was so much fun! (I do think what they did with Samantha was ridiculous though, she’s an extremely savvy woman who was on a business trip, her deal wrecking behavior seemed totally out of character to me.)

    Fingers crossed!!!!

It felt like the second movie was a dream sequence. NYC is the 5th lady in SATC.
