It’s Official! Kim Raver Joins The Cast Of ’24: Live Another Day’

Back in September we first learned that actress Kim Raver was “close” to signing on to reprise her role as Audrey Raines on the upcoming new season of 24: Live Another Day. As Jack Bauer’s love interest, it seemed pretty certain that she would be brought back on board the show. Today we learn not only that Raver has officially joined the show but that her on-screen father Secretary of Defense James Heller (played by William Devane) will also return to the world of 24! Woot!!

Two more 24 alums have been locked in for the upcoming 24: Live Another Day. Kim Raver, who had been in lengthy negotiations, and William Devane have signed on for the Fox event series and will reprise their daughter-father roles. They join star/executive producer Kiefer Sutherland, who is back as intrepid CTU agent Jack Bauer, and Mary Lynn Rajskub as his quirky sidekick Chloe O’Brien. Both Raver and Devane joined the 24 series in Season 4 as Secretary of Defense James Heller (Devane) and his daughter Audrey Raines (Raver), a committed and passionate woman with a tragic past, who fell in love with Jack. They were both last seen in the final scenes of Season 6, when Jack said goodbye to a catatonic Audrey … 24: Live Another Day … will be set in London and will follow the further exploits of Bauer, taking up his story four years after the events of 24’s final season.

YES YES!! I am so happy that Kim Raver is coming back … I’m also happy that William Devane is coming back, mostly because this new season of 24 will feel EXACTLY like the previous seasons of 24 since so many original actors are returning to the series. SQUEEE!!! I think this is the first time we’re hearing about Live Another Day being set in Europe. As you may recall, the failed 24 movie that never came to be was supposed to be set in Europe so it’s possible they’re trying to salvage as much of that unused script for the series return. This is all very exciting. I’ve missed 24 so much. I can’t wait for the clock to start ticking on a whole new season next year!! Yay!!
